“Scar was amazing with my two kitties and stayed over a few nights with them. I have a super shy girl that Scar won over and gave lots of pets to, and an extra hyper kitten that they played with and didn’t mind her kitten antics. I received fantastic photos of my kitties that made me feel so much better about my trip. Would definitely rebook and recommend!”

“Gabriyela was attent e to Chloe's needs, provided excellent communication before, during and after her stay. We appreciated the photos and cute comments that made us feel comfortable and confident about being away. 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟”

“Amazing amazing amazing sitter!!! Agreed to housesit my dog last minute and spent so much time with him, took him on long walks etc. He's a big, rowdy boy but I was not anxious--he was in good hands!!”

“Quick responses, professional, polite, great communication…when my dog could care less that I’m home from a trip, I know he was taken care of exceptionally well. Lots of photos & vids. House was in great shape, dog happy, mom happy. Will definitely use Anthony again.”

“I was nervous leaving Remi during her recovery, but she made me feel so comfortable and kept me updated. She was patient, caring, and attentive to Remi’s needs. I truly appreciated how reliable she was especially that it was a bit last minute. About: I’ve taken care of various dog breeds for neighbors and friends my whole life. I’ve also worked with cats, dogs, and some rabbits in two different vet hospitals. Aside from this, my family has always owned dogs and the two we have now are my pride and joy. I have a full time job in Decataur, Atlanta, where my general hours are 8am to 4pm Monday through Friday. My schedule however is rather flexible, and I can do drop in visits or walks midday and go back to work afterwards. I also have flexibility to leave work early on most days. My weekends are completely free. When I care for others' pets in their home, I spend all of my time with them, and they are my number one priority. I never leave them alone more than their owner requests, and I always respond to their wants and needs promptly. I also am aware that individual pets have unique personality and preferences. I am very cognizant of that, and believe that no animal can be too picky.
“Jose was a fantastic in-house sitter for my Labrador Retriever, she took to him immediately and he was a great communicator, sending plenty of updates and pics. He left my house neat as a pin, I will definitely utilize his services again!”

“Samantha is the best! One of our dogs got sick at the beginning of our trip and she kept in touch with us consistently throughout. She sent pics to reassure me that my dogs were being cared for and they looked like they were calm and comfortable at all times. She took my home care and pet care instructions seriously so the dogs weren’t stressed. She goes the extra mile and I really appreciate her for it.”
“Anna was amazing!!!! She helped out with a last minute request to watch our two pups and was extremely communicative, friendly and sweet. She showed up on time and the pups absolutely loved her. We will definitely book again!”

About: I am organized and reliable. I have had dogs since I was a little kid, and have experience walking big dogs that pull and little dogs that need breaks. I am currently training for a half marathon and would be happy to take your dog on a short run or long walk! I am able to keep up with crazy puppies or just relax with lazy dogs that need endless petting. I’m currently home for the summer from college. I am taking a summer class online. So, if you want someone to stay at home with your animals while you’re gone, I can take my schoolwork with me and keep them company, as well as lots of play and walk breaks. I am willing to play with dogs outside in a fenced yard or go on a walk with a leash. I am used to opening and closing doors to ensure no dogs try to run.
“Mahamma is very kind and seems like a true animal lover! She communicated well, was perfectly on time, and sent updates and photos/video during the evening dog sitting. I will definitely book her again!”

Micah has done an excellent job of caring for our cat and two dogs during both drop-ins and longer multi-night stays. Micah is communicative, pro-active, and takes great care to leave our home in good shape. Micah also helped us navigate a tricky broken appliance situation when we were out of the country and it was a huge relief to know we had a responsive, responsible sitter to take care of it. Our pets love Micah so we’d gladly book him again!
Julia is fantastic and spent time understanding each of our three dogs of different breeds needs, personalities and house specifics. Our pups vary from an elderly dog, one with a heart issue that over heats quickly and one puppy with separation anxiety. Julia stayed overnight with our crew for a week and sent picture updates daily. She was very easy to communicate with the entire time and we came back to happy pups and our home as we left it. Julia is easy going, responsible, professional and I would absolutely reach out to Julia again!

Jakobi was Great with Poppy! He was courteous, knowledgeable and did fantastic job of helping Poppy. Jakobi sent texts, pictures and messages regarding Poppy while I was away. I knew she was in great hands While I was away! Thank you for taking such good care of my girl. Will definitely request him to dog sit again and told my neighbors who had dogs about Jakobi. I
Raymond was the best with our pups! He took great care of them and kept them on their routine while we were away. He was very respectful of the house and left it in tip-top shape before he left. His communication was awesome and we will booking with him again!

Stephanie was wonderful sitting for my dog Penny. Penny took to Stephanie immediately after meeting her and remained perfectly comfortable with her for the whole 10 day period I was away. Penny was fed, got her meds, was taken on walks, exactly as I requested. Stephanie took perfect care of my house as well -- I arrived home to a clean house, fresh sheets on the bed, and some homemade banana bread! I hope Stephanie will be available whenever I have to travel. I can't recommend Stephanie highly enough!
Maria was excellent with our Olde English Bulldogge, Lucille! She took wonderful care of her and gave us real peace of mind while we were away. Maria also did a fantastic job managing our home—it was well cared for and everything was just as we left it. She was dependable, communicative, and clearly takes pride in what she does. We would absolutely book Maria again and highly recommend her to anyone looking for a trustworthy and caring pet sitter.

Meg was excellent at communicating with me while we were out of town. She sent pictures of the dogs (my favorite) and sent updates. She took care of the house while we were gone and made sure to message us when we got packages. The dogs were well-cared for and happy.

Elizabeth exceeded all expectations. I was lucky enough to book her last minute to watch mine and my neighbor’s dog. She asked a ton of questions prior to sitting for us that showed she really understood dogs and really wanted to make sure she stuck to our typical routine. Both dogs were instantly obsessed with her when she came for a meet and greet. She kept me updated on how the dogs were doing, sent tons of great pictures, and generally just made me feel relaxed about being away from my pup. When I got home, both dogs were relaxed and happy. The house looked even better than how I had left it. I hope to have Elizabeth stay with us again soon!

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred North Druid Hills walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in North Druid Hills maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in North Druid Hills choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
