“We had the best experience with Gabriyela! She made us feel so comfortable leaving our boy with her. She sent us frequent updates, it was so nice. I can’t recommend her enough!”

“Koda loved Ryan and they become buds real quick! This was my first time using Rover and leaving Koda with a dog sitter! He sent me updates and lots of pics everyday! Best experience and would rebook with Ryan!”

“Scar was an amazing sitter!!! He was great with my girl chloe, providing many updates when it came to not only feeding and things but just generally how she was doing. My girl is older and requires more care when it comes to feedings and such and he did a great job working with that. Would absolutely recommend him to anyone. He especially is very respectful when it comes to feeling out the cats personality which was great to see.”

“Gabriela was the best sitter anyone could ask for - respected time, communication, sent photos and checked in often. She’s patient and trained my puppy to sit in just two days. I would highly recommend her to anyone!”

About: Hi! I have fallen in love with volunteering at the CAC shelter the past months and want to spend more time with animals 🐾 I grew up with family dogs (yorkie, maltipoo, & husky) but I currently have a mischievous tuxedo cat! I currently work remotely so as long as there’s wifi I’m good to go for weekdays and weekends! I also can take pets out or play during my breaks. I will follow any instructions given about food, walks, cat quirks, or however you want me to care for your pet. Whatever makes you and them most comfortable!

Not only is my doggo super happy, our place is spotless still.. I also just really like Cynthia as a human. She’s responsible of course but also kind and caring and thoughtful.. and funny too!”

“Both my dogs absolutely love Katelyn! She always has a very positive attitude, is willing to help with whatever she can and her communication is great! 1000% recommend her!”

“We could not be more grateful for Anthony! He stayed at our house for a week while we were out of the country and did an absolutely amazing job caring for our dogs and our home. From the very beginning, he was extremely communicative, keeping us updated with messages and photos so we always felt at ease knowing our pups were in great hands. Our dogs absolutely loved him—it was clear they were happy, comfortable, and getting lots of love and attention. On top of that, he took wonderful care of our house, and everything was spotless when we returned. Anthony went above and beyond in every way, and we’ve already re-booked him for our next trip. If you’re looking for someone responsible, caring, and trustworthy to watch your pets, Anthony is the perfect sitter. We can’t recommend him enough!”

“Amanda is very sweet and thoughtful. She communicates well and sends great updates with lots of pictures. She followed all instructions and went above and beyond with my cats. Even my skittish one gained her trust. Will be booking again!”

About: I am organized and reliable. I have had dogs since I was a little kid, and have experience walking big dogs that pull and little dogs that need breaks. I am currently training for a half marathon and would be happy to take your dog on a short run or long walk! I am able to keep up with crazy puppies or just relax with lazy dogs that need endless petting. I’m currently home for the summer from college. I am taking a summer class online. So, if you want someone to stay at home with your animals while you’re gone, I can take my schoolwork with me and keep them company, as well as lots of play and walk breaks. I am willing to play with dogs outside in a fenced yard or go on a walk with a leash. I am used to opening and closing doors to ensure no dogs try to run.
“Muhsinah was terrific! She texted regularly and sent photos of my dog playing and on walks. She kept the lines of communication open and gave me peace of mind knowing that my dog was well cared for. Muhsinah also took care of my home. She’s welcome back every time!”

About: As a newish widow and empty nester I have a lot of love and affection to give, and I want to give it to your pets. I’m a home/pet sitter because I believe your pets already have to handle not having their loved ones around. Uprooting them and taking them from their safe place to go to a strange location on top of that is too much on some animals. If you have the spare room, I’ll come to you. I’ll stay there while you’re gone, following your routine and schedule, and even take pictures/videos (if allowed) to send you updates, if you want. I’m willing to take your pets to any vet or grooming appointments as long as you have all payments for said appointments handled beforehand. Let me help make your travels easier on you and your animal family. I follow whatever schedule your pet usually has at home. You tell me (written or typed) their wake and sleep schedule, walk schedule, eating schedule, and any medication instructions. That’s what I follow. *Any free time will be filled with as much love and enrichment as your pet allows. At the beginning I will take whatever time is necessary for your pet to become comfortable with me. Once they’re comfortable with me in their space I will follow any and all instructions given, to provide the best care possible for them. It’s your home, so it’s your rules. *Your private space stays off limits.* I try to leave where I’m at better than it was when I got there. So, I will clean up after myself. Insuring you have as smooth a transition as possible. If any issues occur I will follow your instructions for both non-emergency and emergency issues, for your home and your pet, and notify you in your preferred method.

Maria is really the best and took such good care of my little pup Cali ! She sent many updates and pictures throughout the time we were away and truly a pleasure to communicate with and we didn’t have to worry about a thing. She went above and beyond while staying in our home, she even did our wash and took out the trash... I highly recommend her and Cali can’t wait to see her again soon! :)

Nina is amazing. Our animals love her. They get so excited when she arrives and are attached to her for her entire stay. She takes such good care of them and our house when we are out of town. She also communicates so well with us giving us regular updates and pictures and is not afraid to ask questions. Nina is the best!
Phoebe did a fantastic job with Buster and Bella during our weekend away. She sent pictures multiple times a day, played ball in the yard, gave medicines and administered eye drops. It gave us so much peace of mind knowing they were in such good hands. We will definitely be using her services again!

Tegan is an amazing sitter! She stayed in our home with our pups for 3 nights. She was communicative and sent great pictures. We had a issue with our AC during her stay, and we were so appreciative of her flexibility and helpfulness in communicating with maintenance and sharing updates. When we returned, our home was spotless, and our pups were relaxed and stress-free. They clearly enjoyed their time with her!

We adore Linda, and our pets do, too. She's conscientious and thorough and left our house better than she found it! She cares for plants, packages, and mail, too. I know when Linda is housesitting we are in the best hands. She's dependable, communicative, kind, thoughtful, and sends regular updates about our quirky pets. We have a very senior dog, and Linda is sensitive to her needs and neuroses. Linda is our go-to pet care giver, and we will rebook for sure!

Anna is a phenomenal pet sitter! She kept us fully informed, with updates and photos. She was diligent in taking notes about care instructions, followed them, and kept our critters happy and healthy while we were away. We trust her completely and will definitely be using her in the future.
Scar house sitting and taking care of my cat and senior dog makes traveling really easy because I know they’re happy and well taken care of. I knew she was in great hands While I was away! Thank you for taking such good care of my girl. Will definitely request him to dog sit again and told my neighbors who had dogs about Jakobi. I
Meg was excellent at communicating with me while we were out of town. She sent pictures of the dogs (my favorite) and sent updates. She took care of the house while we were gone and made sure to message us when we got packages. The dogs were well-cared for and happy.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred North Atlanta walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in North Atlanta maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in North Atlanta choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
