About: I've been a lifelong animal lover, and I’ve always had pets growing up -- several cats, guinea pigs, fish -- so I’m really comfortable around animals. I also rode horses for a few years, which gave me good experience with larger, more unique animals. Last year in Alaska, I dog walked and cared for cats while their owners were away. I made sure they stayed happy and healthy with many walks, and kept in touch with the owners too, giving updates and adjusting routines as needed. As someone who’s very active and loves the outdoors, watching and walking dogs was a fun way to make a little extra money on the side and have a companion on my long walks! I do have a full-time job, but I’m looking for something on the side to help pay off student loans. I’m currently in college but my family has been fostering dogs since I was in middle school, so I have experience with every kind of dog from 8-week puppies to older dogs to three legged ones! I currently have 2 rescues I help take care of and train, and love volunteering at animal shelters(Chicago Canine and Wright Way) in my free time, so I have a wide variety of experiences when it comes to caring for animals. Whether it be walking one dog or bathing a van load of puppies, I love spending time with all dogs!!!! I’m currently working part-time, so I have plenty of time for walks, check-ins, and overnight stays. I’m available during the weekdays and most weekends, and my schedule is very flexible. About: We have a secure backyard with a 6ft privacy fence which our furry guests can enjoy as much as they want. I will also walk them around the neighborhood. I live with my own dog, Sam, who is reactive to other animals, so I cannot bring pets into my home — but this also means I understand how to work calmly and respectfully with dogs that may need space or structure. I’m confident handling leash reactivity, high-energy dogs, and special instructions.
