About: My husband and I live in North Capitol Hill with our Malinois and German Shepherd. As the owner of a dog I trust with very few people, I understand how stressful it can be to hand someone else the leash or access to your home. My goal is to work closely with you, follow your instructions carefully, and make sure your pet is treated with patience, attention, respect, and genuine affection. My strongest experience is with large, intelligent, high-energy dogs. I have raised both of my dogs from puppyhood: a German Shepherd and an 85-pound rescue Belgian Malinois with anxiety and reactivity. Caring for dogs who are strong, athletic, sensitive, and constantly thinking has taught me patience, consistency, calm handling, and how to anticipate problems before they happen. I regularly walk both dogs together, managing nearly 200 pounds of energy, strength, and occasional squirrel chasing. On walks, I am fully present and not distracted by my phone. I continually monitor for approaching dogs, traffic, cyclists, tight spaces, environmental triggers, and safe alternate routes. I understand that responsible handling often means preventing a difficult situation instead of waiting until one has already developed. That same awareness carries into the home. I am used to dogs who can open doors, get past barriers, jump onto counters, move large objects such as trash cans, and reach hazards that many people would never anticipate. I carefully check for medications, food, trash, unsecured doors, and anything else a curious or determined pet might access. With smart dogs, the smallest overlooked detail can quickly become a much larger problem. My experience also includes: • Puppies, including house-training routines, frequent potty breaks, consistency, and managing chewing or mischievous behavior • Senior dogs who may require a slower pace, extra patience, mobility accommodations, or closer observation • Anxious and reactive dogs who benefit from structure, space, calm communication, and predictable routines • Cats, including feeding, litter-box care, play, companionship, and following each cat’s preferred level of interaction I do not assume that experience with my own pets means I automatically understand yours. Every animal has different routines, triggers, boundaries, medical needs, and quirks. I welcome detailed instructions and honest information about behavior, anxiety, reactivity, past incidents, or anything I should avoid. That information does not intimidate me. It allows me to provide safer and more confident care. My schedule is flexible because I do not work a traditional nine-to-five job. I am currently on summer break while finishing my degree in interior design, and I can accommodate weekday and weekend walks, drop-in visits, house sitting, and recurring care depending on location and timing. When school resumes, most of my time will be spent working independently on my capstone project, with only a few scheduled classes each week. I expect to maintain substantial flexibility throughout the academic year and am interested in building long-term relationships with recurring clients. I keep my Rover calendar current and only accept bookings I know I can reliably fulfill. I follow each owner’s instructions carefully and take time to understand their pet’s routine, boundaries, health needs, and home setup. In a client’s home, I pay close attention to doors, gates, food, medications, trash, cleaning products, and anything a curious or determined pet could reach. Before leaving, I confirm that the home is secure and that each pet has fresh water, access to the correct areas, and a comfortable environment. During walks, I stay off my phone and remain aware of approaching dogs, traffic, cyclists, narrow sidewalks, and possible triggers. I avoid unnecessary interactions with unfamiliar dogs, adjust the route when needed, and use the equipment and handling methods provided by the owner. I do not take dogs off leash unless we are in a fully enclosed area and the owner has specifically approved it. Trust also means communication. I provide clear updates and will contact you if I notice anything unusual, including changes in behavior, appetite, energy, or bathroom habits. I would rather ask a question than make an assumption. I also have a large SUV and reliable transportation. If urgent veterinary care is ever necessary, I can safely transport dogs of various sizes, follow the owner’s emergency instructions, and keep them informed throughout.

About: Farm kid from Pennsylvania here! I grew up taking care of everything from dogs and cats to piglet runts, cows, chickens, and yes — a pet raccoon. If it had fur, feathers, or a heartbeat, I was probably looking after it. Your pet's in experienced (and genuinely animal-obsessed) hands. I'm currently between design contracts, so I have plenty of flexible time — perfect for daily play, drop-in sits, or extended boarding whenever your cat needs me. In my home, my responsible, loving 8-year-old happily plays with visiting pets. I keep cats safely indoors, offer healthy treats, and give them affection and attention all day.
“Laura was able to cat and tortoise sit for us with just a few days notice. Both animals were very content when we arrived back home and she sent lots of photos to keep us updated. We will definitely have Laura back in the future.”
“Shelby was a great sitter for my 3 cats. Very communicative and flexible with her schedule and helping administer oral meds for one of my cats. Would definitely consider booking her again!”

“Elizabeth did a great job watching our two cats while we were away! She was reliable, communicative, and took great care of them. We’d definitely recommend her and would book her again!”

“Olena was absolutely wonderful! This was my dog Charlie’s first time staying home alone, and she completely put my mind at ease. She was prompt, reliable, and incredibly responsive throughout every visit. I loved receiving photos and updates, which helped me feel connected and reassured while I was away. Olena made sure Charlie got his walks, plenty of attention, and lots of love during her check-ins. It was clear that she genuinely cared about his well-being and comfort. Knowing he was in such capable and caring hands made all the difference. I would absolutely book with Olena again and highly recommend her to anyone looking for a trustworthy, communicative, and compassionate pet sitter. Thank you, Olena, for taking such great care of Charlie! 💕”

“Carly was amazing! Very flexible as I had to schedule the visits last minute. Excellent communication and she took lots of photos of my two boys! My one cat is very skittish and tends to hide around new people but he came out for her and let her give him pets! They clearly liked and trusted her. Very grateful to know they were taken such good care of while I was away. Will definitely use her again in the future!”

“I was so excited when Angela was available to cat sit for Toast again! Angela sent so many beautiful photos of Toast enjoying her best life while I was gone.”

“Susy has been checking in on our fur babies when we are away for over 5 years now. Our cats just love her and we do too because they are much less angry at us when we come back if she is the one taking care of them 😸 she keeps us updated on details every time and sends great pics 😊 Thank you Susy for being such a trusted friend for our fur babies!!”

October 2026-September 2027 Seattle area. I already have 2 confirmed housesits and am currently interviewing for more. One of the benefits of the area that I live is that we are surrounded by nature so there are many animals here. Sometimes when I open my front door in the morning there are deer in front of my gate waiting to see what will happen at breakfast time. Travel/Work/experience: 1993-1994 Worked for a historical museum in Ukraine. Was responsible for finding and conducting video interviews with Ukrainian Holocaust survivors. Specifically we were looking for survivors of Einsatzgruppen events. 1994-1995 High school History/English teacher in Bratislava, Slovakia. 1995-1997 Teacher and then manager of a private language school in Moscow, Russia. 1997-1998 Manager of a bar/restaurant, Koh Samet, Thailand. I ran a beachfront bar with 15 bungalows and a small restaurant. Was responsible for all operations, payroll, staffing etc. 50-100 customers daily. 1998-1999 History/English instructor for City University of Seattle. 1999-2002 Worked as a deckhand in Alaska on Salmon and Crab boats. Yes, exactly as in the Deadliest Catch but 7 years before the show started. Was on my boat each year for between 8-10 months. 2002-present. Owner of a private Language School. I have slowly grown my school into one of the largest language schools in Slovakia. I currently have a staff of over 50 teachers teaching English, German, French, Russian, Spanish, Italian as well as Slovak for the many foreign managers living and working in multinational companies. My school cooperates with most of the large multinational companies in the area. I also cooperate quite closely with the local and state police departments as well as the mayor and city council all of whom are my students. While I will be house-sitting for you I will be managing my private Language School online. I will always have time to take care of the homes that I sit for as well as the pets regular routine. I always try my best to maintain the same pet schedule. 1st of all I LOVE ANIMALS! Our home in Slovakia is located up on the hill in the woods overlooking the lake. We have a large orchard and our nearest neighbor is about 300 m from us. We currently have 7 cats in various phases of either living, hanging out, or adding us to their busy social/feeding routine. During the Summer I take care of 2 friends' homes so I take care of their dogs, cats, fish, and even a very old turtle. as well. I travel to the U.S. regularly to visit friends/family each and this website is a perfect fit for my lifestyle as I manage my school remotely. To be quite honest, for all of the travelling I have done over the past 30 years, I have not travelled nor experienced the U.S. much which is another reason I have joined this website. I thought it would be a great way to see the U.S. as well as spend time with lots of great pets! I could take you anywhere you wanted on the Budapest metro blindfolded but have never been to Washington D.C. for example. Please feel free to contact me so we can speak in person about your pets, home and your requirements.
“Thank you, Chris, for taking care of my two orange boys! I left on a 2 week trip and Chris arrived every scheduled day on a timely manner to check up on the cat's foods and followed the instructions I left him. On several occasions, the cats did things like knock my cameras down or open doors, but Chris fixed the issues and ensured the cats were always safe, had their litter robot, food, and water in perfect state and felt secure!”

“Aly was great with my cats and even the one that is wary of new people warmed up to her quicker than he usually does with others. She was very communicative and took lots of great pictures. I felt very safe having her watch my cats.”

“Elizabeth did an amazing job taking care of my cat, Dulce, while I was on vacation. My cat is not the friendliest, but she really understood her and took time to make her feel as comfortable as she could be. Definitely recommend!”

“Isabella was amazing with my dogs. She followed all my instructions and my pups love her. As an unexpected plus her pictures are some of my favorite ones of my puppies that anyone has taken. Will definitely recommend.”

“Maria went above and beyond for my 2 rabbits. I didn't have to worry about them while I was away because Maria followed all of my care instructions and sent updates and photos every day. Thank you!”
“Roman was fantastic with our pug Boyd while we needed a little extra help during the day to get him out and fed. It was very clear all of our instructions were followed, Boyd got lots of attention and love, and we didn't even have to think twice about whether he was situated at home! Thanks Roman!”

About: I’ve spent the past 10 years caring for dogs and cats, including Meringue, my nine-year-old Korean rescue pup, and Mitzvah, my two-year-old cat and accomplished escape artist. I’m comfortable with rescue pets, older dogs, shy animals, and pets with highly specific opinions. I’m patient, active, observant, and extremely careful about doors, leashes, feeding instructions, and safety. I’ll follow your routine closely, give your pet affection on their terms, and send plenty of photo updates along the way. I work remotely three days a week, which gives me flexibility for neighborhood walks and drop-in visits throughout the day. I already plan my routine around caring for my own dog and cat, so pet care fits naturally into my week. I especially enjoy getting outside with dogs who are always ready for another walk. I treat every pet’s routine and every client’s home with care. Before each walk or visit, I double-check doors, gates, leashes, and harnesses, and I’m especially vigilant about escape artists. I follow your instructions closely and never introduce new foods, activities, or animals without permission. I’ll also send prompt updates so you know your pet is safe and comfortable.

Kimberly has gone above and beyond to care for my cats when I was away for 2 days. She made sure to follow specific dietary restrictions for each of them. She’s organized and detail oriented, always showed up on time and sent detailed notes and a lot of photos. I couldn’t have hoped for a better sitter to look after my cats.

I’ve been a repeat customer of Jen’s for a few years now, and our most recent trip we needed someone to watch our 2 cats for two weeks. The only person we trust enough while we’re gone for that length of time is Jen! It’s hard to be away from your pets for that long, but we feel peace knowing they’re being loved, played with, and cared for. Thank you for everything Jen!!!

The best Catsitter I’ve ever had! Extremely professional, communicative, responsible, and just does the most doting on my beloved fur baby. I feel 100% comfortable leaving town knowing Edward is taking such great care of my kitty. He really goes above and beyond

Dorothy is dependable and detail-oriented. I appreciate that she makes sure she does the little things I've shared that make a big difference for Bentley, even if it's been a long time since she's seen him. I know I can trust Dorothy to take good care of Bentley. ☺️

Leighton was amazing with our two senior kitties. We were a little hesitant about leaving them with someone we didn’t know, but Leighton immediately put us at ease. She is professional, personable, reliable, communicative and made leaving the kitties in her caring and capable hands an easy decision. The kitties even let her pet them, which showed us they approved, too. It was a great experience working with her and we are grateful she was available. My husband and I now feel like we can actually leave for a few days and know the kitties will be in good hands. We will definitely book Leighton again!
