“I have hired Karissa many times to be my pet sitter while I've been gone. In fact, I schedule my trips around when Karissa will be available to take care of my cat! Knowing that Karissa is caring for her really allows me to relax and enjoy my time away, instead of worrying about how well Tabby is being taken care of. Karissa's work goes far beyond just checking to see if Tabby has enough food and water. Karissa follows my written instructions carefully. She has learned how Tabby likes to play, and she spends much of her time interacting with her in the cat's favorite ways. Karissa sends me texts and videos while I'm gone, so I can see that Tabby is doing well and having fun. When I return, Tabby is always calm and happy, so I know she has been well cared for and has received lots of attention while I was away. Karissa even visits Tabby at other times than when I'm gone, to stay connected and because she enjoys interacting with her. In addition to taking excellent care of Tabby, Karissa is very trustworthy in my home, and she is also careful in locking up when she leaves. Karissa knows that Tabby would love to escape when she has the opportunity, so Karissa is very careful to guard doorways when she comes and goes. Karissa is truly an exceptional pet sitter, and Tabby and I are extremely fortunate to have her as part of our lives!”

About: As a handler for the University of Washington's live mascot Dubs II and having grown up a pet owner, I have a wealth of experience caring for furry friends! Throughout my childhood, I learned the ins and outs of pet care and started training dogs in behavior and agility as early as age seven. My studies at the University of Washington in neuroscience and psychology, as well as raising a dog with severe anxiety, have helped me understand behavioral nuances and pet body language to ensure pets in my care are always happy and healthy. Additionally, working with Dubs II—whether I am running with him across the field at Husky Stadium or handling him at events across the University of Washington campus and Seattle area—allows me to navigate fast-paced environments and adapt to new routines while prioritizing pet safety. Quality attention is my specialty because your furry family members deserve top dog treatment when you're away. That's why I look to love all of my clients' pets as much as my own. No paws are too big or small! My current dogs are a playful Samoyed and miniature Schnauzer pair, but I have had the chance to sit, walk, groom, and work with dogs from a wide variety of breeds and backgrounds. As a student at the University of Washington, my greatest availability for full-time care is on weekends and holidays or late afternoon/evening on weekdays, when I can devote my attention to your pets! My long-term experience as an owner and sitter provides me with the knowledge and capability to work with your dog and family to ensure a safe, and positive environment.
