About: I have been a pet owner most of my life, starting with cats in my college days, and have consistently been a cat mom ever since. Then Willow joined our family, and I joined the dog camp! Willow loves having friends over, and so in the last couple of years, I have watched a dog when their owners have gone away for short trips, and it has been lovely and fits well with my work-from-home life, and has been a great social time for Willow. I have a teenage son who is with me part-time and who is also a dog lover (he is a big reason we brought Willow into our family). I have experience as a dog sitter from when I was younger, before having kids. Now that one kid is off at college and my youngest is in high school, I have way more availability to take on dog sitting again —this time in my home! I work full-time from home and set my daily schedule so I am available to take dogs for morning and afternoon walks. Generally, I take my dog Willow on a mile walk in the late afternoon or early evening, but I can curtail walks to the needs of your pup! I have a fenced-in yard that my 3.5-year-old dog uses all day long. I am always available to let the dogs in and out at their request. Willow is a super-friendly dog and loves playing with other dogs. I have 2 cats that are neutral when it comes to dogs, generally they just do their own thing, and have been very patient with Willow who does try and play with them.
“Kris has been great with our very excitable and wiggly pitty mix. She follows instructions and our dog has been happy and well cared for when we get home. She's restoring our trust in the system after a few disappointing experiences with past dog sitters. We will be rebooking with Kris as long as she is available and willing to do it!”

About: I tend to bond well with doggos and am happy to walk, feed, cuddle, give belly rubs, and play tug-of-war and fetch with your dog(s). I also have experience caring for senior doggies who need medications and extra care and attention. I'm available for daily dog-walking, drop-in visits, and pet-sitting. I have a roommate who loves and can care for my cat so I am able to stay in your home and keep your pet company while you're away. I'm able to stop in for a time to feed and care for or walk your pet, or I can stay at your home if your pet needs more company and support. As a long-time cat mom who treasures her feline companion, I understand the importance of knowing your pet is being well-cared for when you can't be there. I commit to showing your pet the same care I would show my own, and I will be respectful of your home and conscientious about keeping it clean!
About: I have extensive, hands-on experience across the entire developmental spectrum, from neonate kittens requiring specialized feeding to the patient care required for senior dogs with mobility challenges. I'm comfortable administering oral/topical medications for both cats and dogs. I move at the pet’s pace. Whether a pet is shy, high-energy, or slowing down with age, I tailor my approach to their unique comfort levels and temperament to make sure they stay happy and healthy. As a full-time professional in an office Monday through Thursday (8:00 AM – 5:00 PM), I provide highly structured and reliable care. I treat my sitting schedule with the same level of commitment as my career. Monday – Thursday: Full availability for walks, feeding, and playtime starting at 6:00 PM. Overnights: I am happy to provide overnight care for pets that are comfortable being home independently during a standard workday. Friday – Sunday: * Full-Day Availability: My schedule is completely open for adventure walks, multiple drop-ins, or more specialized care. My approach is centered on maintaining your pet's comfort and routine in the environment they know best—their own home! My evenings and weekends are dedicated to whatever your pet needs most—whether that’s an playtime, a precise medication routine, or just hanging out together on the couch! I'm comfortable administering various medications and am prepared for emergencies with my CPR training. Beyond keeping your pets safe, I treat your home with respect, ensuring it stays tidy, secure, and exactly as you left it.
“Alex was prompt, communicative and took great care of the babies. We got pictures, a nice thorough update and everyone seemed happy when we got home. They asked great questions upfront to understand how to take the best care of our animals. We look forward to rebooking!”

“I met Jasmine the day before our scheduled sitting appointment. She was very kind to meet the fur children before the actual day and all kids loved her. She did exactly as expected and treated the fur babies so well playing in the back yard with toys and giving loves inside the house during her visit. I would definitely recommend her for pet sitting and will use her again. I have two aussies with lots of energy and loves to give.”
“Our first time using Rover and Mckenzie was great. Arrived on time, spent extra time taking care of our boys. Provided photos and a detailed report of the visit. Thank you Mckenzie! Much appreciated.”

“Kiwi has provided excellent care for my cat on separate occasions of 1-2 weeks each. He is very afraid of strangers, but with gentle coaxing, Kiwi managed to whisper him out from under couches and allow petting. Remarkable! Check-ins happen at the scheduled times. Messages from me receive timely replies from Kiwi.”

“Alexandria was a great cat sitter while I was away for 5 days. I booked on pretty short notice and she came over the day after I messaged her to meet my cat and get the keys and see where things were. She was very flexible and great at communicating with me with texts and pictures each day while I was gone. I'll definitely rebook with her for future trips!”

“We booked with Mik a little last minute a week before our two week international trip when our initial sitter was a no show for a meet and greet, and we are so glad we did! Mik was professional, and excellent communicator, and was very flexible working together with a family member who was also caring for our pets; especially when new challenges came up (our cat was hospitalized the weekend before we left for a urinary blockage). She was awesome at interacting with our pets at the level they were comfortable with, and I could tell that they became buds by the end of our trip! ☺️ We also appreciated all of the pictures and details we were given during her home visits, as well as how Mik put in the effort to provide engagement and stimulation for our pets on a variety of ways. I would definitely recommend booking with her, and we hope to do so again in the future!”

About: I would love to have doggy guests at my home by the lake for fun days and lake walks. I have had giant dogs, 160 lbs Newfoundland and a chow Rottweiler mix so I'm comfortable having larger breed doggy guests too if they are well behaved! I also have dog sat a few dogs with my ex boyfriend as he had a few clients, even a dog just had a surgery and with specific guidelines and medication schedule so I feel comfortable with the whole process. Case by case, I will stay and watch your Pups at your home where they are comfortable or have them here at my house, take them for lake strolls and chillax back at my home together. I have no animals currently and I do miss having them around. Hope to meet up for win win situation for all of us! ** note** This summer time has been crazy with inquiries for a while- and with my outdoor adventures, and with me starting a new editorial styling position soon and everything else, I was overwhelmed by requests and doggy guests at times, I apologize if I somehow missed getting back for a time! I love my doggy guests and I will try to reply as I can! Thank you and hope to meet you and your pups soon! Xx yukako. ** About this sitter: I love animals, dogs, cats, especially, but due to my freelance work and potential travels, I can't have one of my own. However, I miss my time with beloved furry friends! I just heard from my friend about Rover and I realize how perfect it is. I house sat a few dogs with my ex boyfriend as he had a few clients- and helped and took pups to lake walks, outdoor hiking, etc. and even cared for a dog just had a surgery and had to give them medications so I feel comfortable and familiar with following your care guide and schedule for your dog and have a happy fun time with them while you are away. I have had a 160 lbs Newfoundland and a mischievous chow mix myself and I do miss the doggy presence in my life. I would love to meet and greet to make sure we are all comfortable and would love to develop a happy dog caring relationship with you and the pup! I would also be comfortable to board/ take care of your dog case by case, at my lake view home- just convenient for lake strolls with your pups! Hope to have a happy furry meeting that works great for both of us! Why I love dog sitting I had my Sven the newfoundland for 9 years and Timber the Chow Rottweiler for 5 years. I raised Sven sice he was a 7 week old black ball of fuzz with giant paws to fully grown giant shedding drooling goofball at 160 LBS! He was such a mellow goofy dog that made our newly built at the time home a barn quickly with amazing amount of fur he shed and of course the beethoven style shaking off the rain and drool as soon as he came inside, but he was really like my furry child to me and He slept with us taking over a substantial area on our king size bed. Timber was a rescue and a smart mischievous one, bossing Sven around then totally kissing my butt..lol Dogs are really like having furry kids.. I do miss having them, but it is hard to have a large dog in a city, especially if you rent and travel for work or family months at a time. I'm a freelace photo stylist so it varies how busy I am depending on time of the year, and I try to visit my family in Tokyo too. Our first guest here was our friend's Basset hound Harley and since then This place has hosted a few doggy guests. I love having dog friends when I can and I'm home. I will understand how your dogs are your furry children and would love to take good care of them and pamper them. About my yard No back yard. Front yard where furry guests can hang out if he or she chooses to be outside with a leash. There is a small hiking trail down the street from my place so most likely I would take them there or the lake which pretty much is in front of the house, go have a nice walk and play then come home to relax inside. My experience administering medication Yes. I watched a dog just had a ligament surgery a few days before with my ex recently and they left a detailed medication schedule. As long as there are clear instructions, information, and emergency contacts, I would feel comfortable. It would be a case by case basis and I would like to meet both the dog and you the owner to see if I feel comfortable with the situation first, of course :) I have been a freelance photo stylist for nearly 20 years- my dates are flexible and I do work from home mostly as of late- furry guests are welcome and much loved company as I enjoy taking them to parks, beaches, trails etc. It is just a very natural fit for my life preferences :)) My place is the bottom floor of a big old farm house converted into triplex- so I have a small front yard I enjoy gardening and easy to take doggy guests out on a leash quickly as needed- there’s a nice trail down the street, lake WA is across the street, and a play field next door. I enjoy taking them to parks, beaches, on my kayak, camping, hiking etc etc. I love nature and animals. That’s truly one of my life long passion and calling! I’m really happy/ get excited to hang out with and take care of all different kinds of animal buddies 💗🤓 I’m a freelance photo stylist with varying schedules week by week- I only book doggy guests when I’m not too busy/ working from home :) My love for animal buds and working with them seem to be just getting stronger and I'm focusing more and more on training adpects after 12 plus years caring for them on and off Rover :))) I have recently gone through a dog training intensive to learn different ways of training pups as needed. I'm in the process of getting a few more certifications, but I do need to listen to my guts too as working with animals are not cookie cutter situations. My basic approach is still intuition based, listening to them, see what they enjoy/ like for the training motivation and have fun with them first and foremost. I'm kind of like a spoiling doting Nana combined with basic obedience training on an as-needed basis. I believe in their individual character’s free will and that's something I care greatly about. I tried to learn speed training methods too, but it's definitely not for me. My strengths are patience, love, care, listening, bonding with each pup first then establishing firm boundaries or desired outcome by reperitions. I have learned all the classic and operant conditioning methods, but I do not have any desire to create robot-like pups who are perfectly obedient to the needs of humans. I care about them first and foremost. I would love to help if I can to aid in shifting problematic behaviors, for the pups and their parents for improved happy day-to-day life :) Please lmk if interested in more details at the meet and greet :)) We can discuss possibilities when we meet in person. I do energy work too- have taken Reiki certification and what have you haha, as I feel their energy patterns and characteristics in person and possible problematic habits that developed unknowingly by their environments too. It's easier to spot that objectively as a third person too :)) My hope is to reduce problems and help aid in a happy less stressful life for the fur buds and their parents. I do think the method of board and train is quite effective- so I can discuss the contents of added possible training as I board the pups for your travel needs etc. Thank you for reading and looking forward to meeting you and your pups! 🧡🐶🐾 Xxoo Yukako. 💖😊 I typically take doggy guests to the nearby trail first thing in the morning when I get up- that’s about 1-2 miles. Then breakfast together, then I do my work etc. while they nap- then in the afternoon/ early eve, I take them to dog parks or fields or another trails etc. Then we have dinner- then we all usually relax :)) I take them out one more time before bed, wipe their paws, take their harnesses off and they sleep where they choose- some next to me, some on the couch, doggy guest beds, or their own bed or some like their crates. I usually book stays when I’m not super busy with work, and doggy guests usually come with me everywhere I go- back seat of my car is set up like a crate- with a divider, blanket, toys and bones- they usually like napping there after running around- and I try to do that so they just want to nap anyways- If I have errands or appos or short shoot day or going to a farm to care for horses, max they will be left would be 3-4 hours if that :)) Most of the time I like to operate like a temporary pack going everywhere together :)

“Fei once again knocked it out of the park with our two quirky cats. They enjoyed playing and receiving attention from her, and she was great with communicating all relevant updates. Thank you, Fei!”
“Sam was great! She was very prompt in responding to our last minute booking. She is very kind and attentive to our cats, and provided great updates while we were away. We’d be delighted to book her again!”

About: I strive for a loving and stress free environment when caring for animals in my care. I treat fur babies in my care as though they were my own. I have worked in the pet care industry for over 3 years now. I have also taken a few Dog Guru courses to better understand different breeds and their body language. I am new to the area and what better way to get to know the area than to walk around with a dog or take care of cat. I do not have a space at my own home for pets, but I try to keep routines as close to the one your fur babies are used to when you are home.
“We had a last minute trip come up and Brendan was available on short notice to stop in a few times. He’s punctual and follows all instructions. Most importantly, he’s wonderful with our cats and birds!”

The median cost per visit for pet sitting in Rainier Beach is $25
Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Rainier Beach
Jennifer was excellent and went above and beyond to take care of our cat. A great example of her care was how she handled our cat eating too quickly and throwing up her food. A good cat sitter would communicate that this happened, but an *excellent* cat sitter would do what Jennifer did: communicated that it happened, made a good suggestion for how she could feed our cat to reduce the chances of it happening again, and then implemented that strategy even though it took extra effort. Will definitely book Jennifer again.

Carla came over for a meet and greet in advance and was accommodating with our timing given we had just moved. She was communicative and even brought over her own treats for our cats, one of whom was being scared in our new house so she calmed my nerves by spending extra time searching for him! She’s very friendly and clearly has a lot of experience with cats.
Brendan was nothing short of incredible! He took exceptional care of our kitties and it gave us so much peace of mind while we were away. One of our kitties requires three daily medications and Brendan did such a good job administering them. We will absolutely rebook Brendan the next time we’re out of town.

Ashley got us out of a pinch at the last minute and over a holiday weekend to boot. She gave excellent care to our cats who were having GI problems after a round of antibiotics. She was very vigilant and gave us detailed reports so we could monitor them from afar. We were able to relax and take a badly needed getaway thanks to her care for our cats.
