Upon meeting Jana, our skittish dog showed her normal signs of fear (barking and hiding under furniture). Jana was extremely gentle and understanding with both our dogs. She respected our dog’s need for space in being and offered treats while holding still and speaking calmly. We were surprised how well our dog showed signs of willingness to come close enough to sniff, take treats, and get her leash on to go on walks with Jana. She gave very thorough notes of how the walks went and pictures of our dogs, which gave us so much comfort in their care. She will absolutely be at the top of our list for future dog-sitting needs!”

About: I've been a dog lover all my life and a dog owner for most of it. Most of my experience is with small dogs, but I haven't met a dog yet that I didn't love. I've read many books about dog behavior and training so I'm confident in my ability to cope with most situations. I've had a puppy, a geriatric dog, and everything in between, so I've experienced the entire continuum of dog aging and done everything from potty training to giving oral medicine. My schedule is flexible and I am home more than not so I'm almost always around to go for a walk or keep an eye on your pup. To misquote Benjamin Franklin "[dogs] are proof that God loves us and wants us to be happy".

“Maura did a great job of taking great care of our 3 year old cat, and 4 month old kitten. We were a little nervous about having to leave our young kitten at home since it was his first time alone. She did a great job of playing with him and making him feel safe. Cowboy, our older cat, definitely loves his space and Maura was able to immediately tell and gave him the space that he needed to feel safe. The instructions were followed really well. The only feedback we have is to add a description of how the visit was after each visit. Apart from that, Maura did a fantastic job of taking care of our boys. Highly recommend!”

About: I've fostered puppies before, and grew up with dogs, so even though I don't have any of my own I know how to care for them. I love to be outside, so your dog would get lots of walks and play time in the park! I can be accommodating to what works best for you because I have a fairly flexible work schedule with the ability to work from home as needed! I am very respectful of people's space and always try to leave it better than I found it. I'm available both for drop in visits as well as overnight stays if you want to make sure your pet doesn't get lonely while you're away!
