About: I work for a doggie daycare and dog walking company and I walk up to 10 dogs at a time by myself in all kinds of weather. In hot weather, I bring them to shaded parks. I use healthy treats for training and every dog improves, some dramatically. My business partner and I have given sick or injured dogs wagon rides on paved bike trails to get them fresh air and socialization with their friends. At the time of this writing, between the daycare and Rover, I have worked with 80 dogs. I am currently working full time on weekdays, but I’m available on weekends for dog walking, house sitting and drop-in visits. Dog walking is included with house sitting. I am available to pet sit in client’s homes and walk dogs. I am an avid hiker, so I would take them for walks and runs if appropriate. I double check to ensure harnesses are adjusted properly and comfortable. I use a dog walking belt to attach leashes to, keeping my hands free to pick up after them. If another dog passes, I distract my dogs by offering treats for sitting, staying and directing attention at me. I love taking them to play in parks or the yard, and give lots of love, head scratches and belly rubs! I take time to train so they will trust me and come to me when called. I use a happy, excited voice to encourage them to walk, and a calm, gentle voice when giving them a treat so they learn to take it gently from my hand. I even learned commands in Spanish to help a dog who understands that language best. In addition, I have earned online certificates in Dog Emotion and Cognition from Duke University and Animal Behavior and Welfare from the University of Edinburgh.

About: Animal care has been a central part of my life since I was a young child. It is important to me to go above and beyond to care for the animals in my life. I understand that pets are family. I will treat your pet like they are my own. I provide care in your home only, as my own kitty at home needs to have a safe space herself. I understand that animals need to feel comfortable and safe, especially while their owners are away. Maintaining their typical environment and routine is important. I have personal experience caring for reactive animals with unique medical needs. I am thorough, honest, and patient. I will keep you updated on your babies daily. P.S. I will petsit fish, bugs, and most mammals as well. Please don’t be afraid to reach out if you have a pet that is not a dog or a cat. I do charge for all animal care. I work from 4:30-9:30 every Tuesday & Friday then 1:30-9:30 every Monday & Thursday. If given 3 weeks in advance I can request half shifts on Monday & Thursday! If this doesn’t work for your schedule, it is unfortunately something I cannot change. Pets have their own personalities, wants, needs, and boundaries. I am experienced in reading animal body language to prevent possible miscommunication between me and your pet. It is important to me that your pet is safe and loved.

About: Animals have always been my first love! I grew up in a house with a minimum of 2 big dogs at all times and now have my own golden retriever and pitbull/heeler shelter mix. I’ve volunteered with dogs at the Humane Society, rescued farm animals at a variety of animal sanctuaries, and love animals enough to have gotten a degree in Animal Law. I promise to care for your pets with the same love and kindness I do my own. I work from home and have a lot of flexibility with my schedule so am happy to pop in and check on your pet or get them out for a walk during the work day. Safety and trust are truly the most important things to me. I’ve used Rover before to find care for my dog and know how scary it can be to trust someone with someone as important as your pet. I’m extremely committed to listening to you and your pet’s needs, asking any follow up questions needed, and communicating with you throughout the whole process.

About: Throughout my life I have always lived with at least 2 pets (except right now, ironically). Having previously lived in Estacada I helped take care of different types of animals; dogs, cats, chickens, goats, and pigs. The idea of helping others make their critters happy while they're away or at work fills me with joy! It can be hard to know that our pets are at home all alone, but I'd love to help make that time a little easier for everyone. My experience with dogs ranges across many breeds; chow, husky, lab, retriever, German shepherds, great Pyrenees, chihuahua, etc. Not only do I love dogs, but love, love cats as well! I am open to traveling around the Portland Metro area, and really love a change in scenery. While I do not require a meet-and-greet, I do suggest it if your pet has anxiety since leaving our lovable fuzzballs with a complete stranger can be stressful for them. When it comes to dogs/cats with special circumstances, I am skilled in giving oral medicines and treating wounds. I have also dealt with dogs with anxiety and separation issues--one of our shepherds suffered greatly from these. When it comes down to it, each animal is unique, and each owner's approach to their care will be unique as well. I am happy and willing to follow special requests to make sure that each animal feels safe, loved, and happy. Currently I am able to shift my focus back to pet care more so than in the past. I'm very excited to be back at it and to meet some new faces! Early morning go-getters and late night snugglers are all on the table. I try to adopt an energy of calm and happiness while I'm getting close to a pet. After that, as long as they wish, it's all toys and cuddles! As far as walks go, I believe that being confident and exuding that helps to not only keep the dog(s) attentive, but also puts them at ease knowing that "the pack" has their head in the game.

About: I’ve grown up with cats and dogs all my life, and currently care for my two kitties, Monty and Piper. I’ve volunteered at the Oregon Humane Society in the past as a dog walker, and love taking care of my friends pets when they go out of town. I’m very responsible and good at following directions. Happy to care for your plants as well while you’re away! Can’t wait to meet your furry friends :) I’m currently working part-time, so my days are pretty flexible when caring for your pets!
