About: I am not yet ready to have another pet of my own, so I get great comfort from sharing my love and affection with those families that need it. I have had dogs, cats, a rabbit and a horse throughout my childhood years. My love bug, a 140lb Rottweiler, was the best partner a young woman could have. It was very hard saying goodbye to him. I understand the amount of time, love and attention our pets require of us and I’m happy to be part of the team that can help reduce the concerns when apart or busy. I’ve dog sat at others homes. I’ve kept dogs with me at mine. I’m flexible and understand that each owner has their own unique preferences for the way they want their family member taken care of. I look forward to getting to know you and your loved one! I’m exploring my freedom from corporate life and currently have a lot of open time in my schedule. I’m looking to stay active and walking is a key part of that. I’d love to have a companion to get out and putting the miles on my step counter. I would prefer caring for your pet in a setting more familiar to them, their own home when possible. I know that each owner has unique standards that they want followed and I welcome having detailed instructions and information to follow. Outside of the guidelines that I might get, I’m happy to play, do some basic training, build the pet’s confidence and nurture with attention and affection.

“Lesley is an outstanding dog walker! I hired her to walk our 4 year old, 80lb. German Shorthaired Pointer, Maya. Lesley got back to me very quickly after I first requested her services, and then met us in advance for a “meet and greet” and asked about Maya’s behavior, likes and dislikes when she goes on walks. Lesley communicated via text through “rover.com” whenever she had any information I needed and answered my replies in a timely manner as well. She was always on time. Maya loved her walks with Lesley and each day after her first walk, waited by the window for Lesley to arrive each morning. Lesley also provided me with a daily online report of Maya’s walking route, her potty breaks and water intake. She posted pictures of Maya on her walk as well! I am so grateful for Lesley’s help with walking Maya and I look forward to hiring her again. I wholeheartedly recommend Lesley! She is awesome.”

“Tina is amazing. She took time to listen to ALL the incredible helicopter mom details I provided about walking my dogs. She is super calm around my sometimes boisterous huskies. Many either don't pay enough attention or are overwhelmed by them. She is great at communicating and really wants to make sure the dogs are getting what they need. I can't recommend her enough.”

About: I grew up with two big dogs the majority of my childhood and have had the pleasure of almost always living with a pet in my adult life. A cat made its way into my home and heart 6 years ago and now I am a cat and dog person. I’ve lived in lots of different places with lots of different pets! I’ve had the pleasure of watching many pets while their owners were away. Sometimes even for months at a time. In those cases I make sure to send lots of videos and pictures to the owners. I find videos from the owners to there pets is also a great touch. (My favorite method is Marco Pollo, so sometimes you can watch in real time and see what’s going on with your pet, and your pet can see what’s going on with you!) I’m currently working part time at a remote job so I have lots of time to spend watching animals and taking them out to play. I am so happy to keep your pet(s) happy and comfortable in their own homes. I know change can sometimes be a lot for an animal and I’d love to be a familiar face you can keep bringing back so your pal has a friend when your away.

“Thank you Gabrielle for walking Toby this afternoon. We appreciate your timely communication and your attention in getting to know our dog at our meet and greet. Looking forward to more walks in the future!”

About: We live in a single family home with a fenced backyard and we have a friendly mini Bernedoodle. Our dog journey began when we dog sat for close friends which led to us getting our own dog as a puppy. We have also helped neighbors with cat sitting. We decided to become Rover dog sitters after having a lot of difficulty finding dog sitters who share our values and who can take good care of our dog. After a positive experience, we decided to do our bit and join the community! We are not doing this as a business so we only accept one dog at a time. We are strong believers in treating animals with love and respect. This means strong environment control, no harsh words, positive reinforcement and giving them the exercise they need. Each pet is unique. During the meet and greet (a must), we will let your dog sniff around off leash in our backyard while learning how we can best take care of them. When they’re comfortable, we will introduce our dog to make sure they can get along. We can accept dogs up to 50lbs. Beyond that, we will evaluate on a case by case basis. Other must-haves on our end to ensure a good experience for your dog: 1. Meet and greet to ensure our dogs can get along 2. Dogs are not allowed to sleep in our bed at night 3. House trained. No male dogs with strong marking tendencies At least one of us will be home full time. We never leave our dog alone so your pet will never be alone. They will have 24/7 care. We have non slip mats in as much of the house as possible so your pet can run around safely. For potty breaks, we have a fenced yard but can also take them on walks 1-2 times a day.

“Megan was great with my dog Stella. She arrived on time for the appointment and knew exactly how to approach my dog. Megan knows how to handle large breeds and my dog was immediately at ease. It was a successful first meeting!”

About: I have always had pets growing up, for as long as I can remember. Since I was 4 years old, I’ve been some kind of pet parent to many dogs, several cats, 2 hamsters, 4 rabbits, 2 snakes, 2 turtles, a bunch of fish and sea snails and even a couple hermit crabs! I currently have a rescue dog, Scout, and a rescue kitty, Pepper. Animals are naturally attracted to me and I’m happy to give them scratches with my long nails! Finding the dog’s “spot” <insert legs shake here!> or getting a kitty to purr, is my happy place. I’m excited to be considered for your pet care needs. I passionately believe our fur-babies are a member of the family and deserve all of our unconditional love, respect and care. I’m currently looking for full time work, and lately I’ve been Face Painting on the weekends, so I was thinking I could help folks during the week for dog potty breaks, kitty play and dog walking during the day. :) I don’t Face Paint every weekend so I could be available selection weekends. My dog is crate trained so I am used to directing them to go into their crate. We make sure we scoop our cat’s litter EVERY DAY, as we know the importance of a tidy box. Aka, no peeing outside the box! My animals are allowed on our furniture… well, who am I kidding? I’m on the couch or recliner and then our dog or cat is on me! LOL.

About: I volunteered at the Oakland SPCA. My duties there included cleaning dog kennels and taking dogs out for potty breaks. I had to complete a safety training in dog behavior for this position. I grew up with a black lab who I provided primary care for once I was old enough. In college, I took courses in animal husbandry and animal training which I applied to my own dog and to my volunteer position. At work, part of my responsibility is animal husbandry for our animal ambassadors (snakes, insects, and a spider). My experience can be applied to caring for dogs as well because both of these require attention to detail and understanding the needs of different animals. I love dogs! I'm passionate about animals and providing quality care through patience and attention to detail. I have pet sit for friends and colleagues in the past. I will treat your dog as if it were my own. I usually work 4-10 hour shifts (6am -4pm Sunday-Wednesday) so I am often available on my days off and during the typical 9-5 work day on my days off. I am also able to watch your dog in your home on the days I do work. I am comfortable crating your dog if needed, taking your pup for a walk, or playing fetch in a fenced yard. I am adaptable to care for dogs with different needs and energy levels.

“He works very well with animals. I have seen him read body language and act accordingly many times. He is loved by my dog (who typically is afraid of men).
