“Heidi is a wonderful person both with canines and humans. Highly recommend. She was great with my young Labrador, he loves her and she was thoughtful about choosing routes he liked which had both water and shade. She is trustworthy with excellent communication and timeliness. Our lab came home tired and happy and was excited to see Heidi when she comes - which tells me a lot. Thank you Heidi for helping us after my husband had surgery. You care of Bodie made our lives easier. 💜💜”

“Michael is flexible and he loves your pets. He is always communicating and seems to really love what he does. If you're in the tri-valley area, you need Michael to care for your pet. Nice guy, always prepared and very considerate of the pet's needs. A+”

“Katelyn has walked our dog, Ninja, during two of our trips, and she’s been wonderful each time. She is always on time, takes the time to make sure Ninja is doing well, and genuinely cares for him. Ninja likes her very much, and we have complete confidence in her. We highly recommend Katelyn to anyone looking for someone to care for their pet. Thank you, Katelyn!”

About: I grew up with dogs and cats and have always loved being around animals. While I don’t currently have pets of my own, I’ve helped care for family pets, roommates’ dogs, and have pet sat for friends many times over the years. I love getting outside for walks and making sure pets get plenty of attention, exercise, and companionship while their owners are away. My schedule is pretty flexible, which allows me to be available for walks, drop in visits, and pet sitting throughout the week and on weekends. I’m happy to work with your pet’s normal routine and make sure they get the care and attention they’re used to. I know how important it is to feel comfortable leaving your pet in someone else’s care. I’ll treat your pet and your home with the same respect and care I would my own. I’m happy to follow any specific instructions and will always keep you updated with photos and messages so you know how things are going.
About: I’ve owned and been around animals my whole life. I’ve had dogs, cats, horses, cattle and others throughout my years and love meeting more! I would love to bring your furry friends some piece of mind while you’re away whether that be a play date in your home or a walk around the neighborhood I do work full time so I’m available for morning and evening adventures! Whatever your routine may be I’m sure we can make it work so your pet is comfy I unfortunately do not provide overnight services at this time. I have two dogs of my own in a somewhat small space so it’s not a current option.

I currently work in the Pleasanton School District, therefore I have summers off and available. I am looking to pet sit for the summer until August. I have very flexible availability, and am easy to work with. I love all dogs and have my own that I adore! I can take your pets for walks, play with them in the house and the backyard as long as it is fenced. As someone who cares for your animals at your house, I am respectful of your space and make sure the priority is the care for your animals.

They will get the ultimate pampering from me! I have a fenced in yard and close to a dog park. I will make sure they get plenty of love and exercise. You will not regret your decision to let me love & care for your pet.
About: Hello! My name is Abigail. I am an athletic outgoing young woman who is looking for a doggie companion to accompany me on walks and runs. My job allows me the flexibility to check in with your animals throughout the day, providing them with the support and care that’s needed. I am a tidy and organized person, who is also open to house sitting as well. I have superb communication skills and will treat your animals and home like they are my own. This job takes trust, compassion, and a whole lot of love! I have a heart of gratitude and a spirit of excellence. Thank you for your time and consideration. I currently work locally and have free time in the mornings and evenings. While I’m not in a space where I can have animals in my home, I do have the time and capacity to provide excellent pet care. I am both emotionally and physically available for the pets I care for. I adhere to feed schedules, potty times, and the connection/bonding experience. Trust is earned, in humans and animals.
About: I’ve taken care of my cat for 5 years, volunteered 1 year at the Valley Humane Society for cat-care, and have taken care of my sisters, and friends dogs here-and-there. My cat is trained and knows how to sit, stand, twirl, lie down, jump, and give a paw. If I can train a cat, I can deal with your dog. My dog care experience is limited, but, this means I will just be even more cautious and will research the in’s and out’s of dog care like a detective in order to make sure I will get everything right. If you have any specific instructions, I will gladly listen and follow them to a tee. I am great at looking through the eyes of the pet, and adapting my behavior to specific personalities and temperaments. I am great with kids and am creative in the ways I play. My household has 3 adults, 1 senior, and 1 black cat. They will not assist with caretaking but may lightly interact with the pet. The house includes a backyard with a pool and tree-house. Tons of cat toys, cat tree, and a cat-proofed home. 1 huge window to the backyard, and 1 huge window to the front yard (the 2 cat-TV’s 📺), which is perfect for cats to watch the squirrels and birds frolick and the rain and leaves fall. My house is close to the Arroyo River trail, which is a perfect place for dog-walking. Your pet will be cared for, engaged, filled up with safe food, and all-set for a good nights sleep. I go to community college 15 minutes away from my house; and so will be home often. I will have time to take care of your pet after college hours. My home, cat: Your cat will first be placed into my room, and slowly introduced with my cat by scent. If it is clear that the cats are friendly with each other, I may introduce Abraham into the room if it is okay with the owner.* The cat will stay in this room for the night.* I will give the cats necessary space, avoid eye contact until they are comfortable, and will not pet unless they clearly are enjoying it. In the room, the cats will have its own bed, cat tree, litter box, tons of toys and safe spaces where it can retreat to. This room is cat-proofed (wires are hidden or wrapped with hard plastic; no places where it can escape, etc.) Your cat will be 100% safe with me, and will have a lot of fun! Your home, cat: I will interact with your cat in the same respectful way as above ^. I will obey the rules of your home and make sure that I know where the cat is. I am great at engaging even the most bored cats with play, and know how to make it exciting for them. My home, dog: Only small dogs and no overnight. I have a small cat at home, and a large dog will likely scare him. At my house, your dog will enjoy the company of 3 adults and will get to explore a backyard with a pool + tree house. The backyard is fenced, but has much shorter fences on the left-side aisle, and a tree that can be used to escape— so the pup will be leashed at all times or put in a crate (if you have a crate to provide, that would be great!) My house is very close to the Arroyo River trail, which is the perfect place for a dog walk. I will play with your pup like they are my own child! I am creative with the ways I play and try to show them new things. Your dog will be engaged with, fed safe food, supervised and set for a great nights sleep. Your home, dog: I will research the needs of your specific dog breed and comply as precisely as possible. I’ll obey the rules of your home and make sure your dog is entertained, fed, and happy at the end of the day.

I enjoy all kinds of walks, from walks on the block to long walks in the forest. I hope to meet you and your furry friends to enjoy a lot of exercise and daily enrichment. I’m currently working part-time, so I’ll have plenty of time to play with your pups! ♥️ I’m available every day and occasionally weekends . The numbers of hours you need. We had a great experience with Alyssa! For about 10 days, she handled our two 65-lb dogs confidently and with care, took them on their walks and made sure they were fed afterward. She was always punctual, communicative, and thoughtful throughout the process. I especially appreciated the photo updated and texts during the walks, along with any questions or comments when needed. This gave us a real peace of mind. Highly recommended!

Christine did a great job of walking, feeding and dropping in on our dogs while we were gone. She is so dependable and reliable it really gave us peace of mind while we were away. We loved that she sent pictures and let us know each time she was there. Both of our dogs loved her. We would definitely use her again and recommend her to friends.
Marianne was awesome! She walked Aqua for thirty minutes over scheduled time which was so generous of her. She was extremely patient and playful with Aqua. She was very observant of her behavior and found solutions to fit Aqua’s needs. We can’t wait to work with her again!

Right away, I could sense that Lisa was a caring and empathetic animal person, and my Toby (who is friendly but shy), took to her immediately. She took him on his favorite route, to his favorite park, and he really enjoyed his morning walk with her! Definitely 💯% booking again… in fact, we already have future walking plans! Thanks, Lisa 😊

Trinity is a 5-star dog walker. Our dog, Maya, absolutely loved her from the moment she met her! Trinity encouraged a “meet and greet” and that was so reassuring to see Maya be at ease with her immediately. Trinity was on-time, let us know when she arrived, posted their walking route, posted cute pictures of Maya, and information on how Maya was doing. She is awesome and goes way beyond what I hoped for. Trinity is a serious pet lover. She is so reliable and trustworthy! She deserves more than 5 stars!!! You and your pet will love her!

It’s very hard to write a review for a Dog walker. For the reason, I am not here to see how my dog reacts when she is picked up. I could tell from the photos she was exhausted from her walk, which is a great sign. What I liked best about Samantha she responded in a timely matter regarding accepting a walk with Abbie. She was on time to do our meet and greet. Definitely would use her again please if you need a dog walker please book with Samantha.
I highly recommend Heather. I plan on using her again. The things I like best was she got back to me in a timely manner regarding our booking. She also got here on time for the time we set for our meet and greet. She sent a lot of pictures of her walk with my dog. I always think how do I know if she had a good time. By looking at the photos, I could tell she was tired and had a good time might sound silly, but it’s a fact.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement walker.
