“Shaka seemed to have a great day at Monisa and David’s house. She even got a nice brushing from Monisa! We feel so lucky to have gotten a referral to Monisa and David from one of their neighbors. We plan to try to book both day care and overnights with Monisa whenever they are available and we have the need. I’m learning they are VERY popular with other pup parents, so booking early is important. Thanks for a perfect first stay for Shaka!!”

About: I’ve been taking care of dogs (and a few cats!) for about 10 years now. I always treat the pets I watch as if they were my own! I’m on the UCSC track and cross country team which means I’m pretty active, so if your pet loves long walks or runs, I’m all about it!! I’ll be available in Livermore this Summer from June 28-August 2nd **Boarding & Day Care: I have 2 cats at home so only cat-friendly dogs please! I’ll be available in Santa Cruz starting August 17th! I’m a college student, so during the school year (August-June), outside of going to class, I’m home most of the time! That means I have plenty of time to give your pet lots of attention, playtime, and care throughout the day. I just recently adopted 2 kittens and have been loving getting to learn the adorable quirks of cats, so I’d absolutely love to look after your cats as well ☺️ When I visit your pet in your home, I ensure all instructions are followed, everything is all cleaned up, and your pet is happy & loved!
About: I’m a lifelong animal lover with a genuine passion for caring for pets. From my first kitten at age five to the dogs and cats I care for today, I’ve always believed pets are part of the family. I provide attentive, reliable care and make sure every pet feels safe, comfortable, and loved. Dogs in my care receive daily walks, along with plenty of attention and personalized care. I work from home full-time so your pet will get lots of time and attention from me. I want you to feel at ease with me watching your animal. I have a fenced in patio and a nice big yard in the front that I can walk your dog on a leash for potty breaks. I also live across the street from a very nice large park where I am happy to take the dog for some playtime.
“My Siberian Husky has such a special bond with Fiona and her family! He runs to their door and is very impatient to go inside their house - his Tractive collar shows he gets hours of activity, and he always comes home tired and happy beyond what I could imagine. Definitely the best Rover we’ve ever had!”

“Ava has separation anxiety and we were very nervous about her first time being in a different home but Kimberly and Chris made her feel at home and she had a great time. We felt very relieved seeing pictures that they sent of her having a good time with them. 100% recommend Kimberly and Chris!”

“Megan and her fiancée watched over the pups and were so lovely! Aspen and Lady seemed to enjoy their stay and weren’t stressed :) They were so friendly and communicated amazingly! Their property is also beautiful with a beautiful yard for the pups to run and explore. I would book again with them in a heartbeat next time I’m in town!”

“Great sitters. Responsible, trustworthy, communicative. I can go to work with peace of mind knowing he is in good hands. They are very attentive and pay close attention to your dog. They have told me his mood, how his day went, and even a pointed out a new red mark that appeared on the inside of his ear.”

“Very happy to have had Reeti (and her lovely children and husband, John) take care of Noodle. Reeti was responsive to all my questions prior to the booking. She kept me updated with messages and photos during day care. It was clear that Noodle was well cared for and loved during his stay. We highly recommend Reeti to anyone looking for a sitter.”

About: Hi! I'm a lifelong dog lover with over 10 years of experience volunteering with dog rescues, fostering dogs, and caring for pups of all personalities. I also founded a nonprofit dog rescue to help street dogs in India, so providing safe, loving care isn't just something I do, it's a big part of my life. I'm especially experienced with shy, fearful dogs and dogs with medical needs, so I understand the importance of patience, routine, and paying attention to the little things that help a dog feel secure. I welcome dog-friendly adult dogs into my home, where they'll be treated like family. Your pup will enjoy multiple walks each day, plenty of playtime and cuddles, lots of photo updates, and almost constant companionship. I mostly work from home with occasional outings of about 3 to 4 hours when necessary. My goal is for every dog to have their own little vacation while you're away, with plenty of love, enrichment, and personalized care, so you can relax knowing they're happy, safe, and well cared for. easily adapt to each dog's routine and individual needs. A typical day includes a walk first thing in the morning, another around lunchtime, one in the evening, and a final walk before bedtime. Dogs are fed twice a day (or according to their normal schedule), with lots of playtime, enrichment, cuddles, and potty breaks throughout the day. My goal is to keep your dog comfortable by maintaining a routine that's as close as possible to what they're used to at home. Every dog adjusts to a new environment differently, so I always let them set the pace. I give new dogs time to decompress, explore, and get comfortable without overwhelming them. Building trust comes first. I follow your dog's routine as closely as possible, including feeding schedules, walks, medications, and any special instructions. My home is calm, safe, and dog-friendly, and I closely supervise interactions to make sure every dog feels secure. My goal is to create a low-stress environment where your dog can relax, feel at home, and enjoy their stay.

It’s hard to tell if the dog had a good time or not, but I did love all the pictures of my dog with other dogs instead of just laying on a couch Irine was excellent in communicating. She was excellent in early communications before I book my dogs rover stay. She even did a follow up when we were supposed to do a meet and greet to make sure we were going to meet at the location discussed and the time Very frustrating with Rover you send a communication to somebody and they don’t get back to you at all or they get back to you 12 hours later
Ava has separation anxiety and we were very nervous about her first time being in a different home but Kimberly and Chris made her feel at home and she had a great time. We felt very relieved seeing pictures that they sent of her having a good time with them. 100% recommend Kimberly and Chris!

Moi and Elaine were wonderful to take our dog Buddy for what I felt was a last minute trip to the peninsula for a day at Stanford. What a relief to have Buddy in their care. They are great at communication, sending pics, and most importantly wanted to know all the right things about Buddy to make sure he was well taken care of for the day. I love that they only take one dog at a time, so he could get the care he needed with his special dietary needs. Moi and Elaine have a perfect well kept fenced back yard with a beautiful lawn and deck plus a house with many doggy beds and places to lounge and play. Noodle, their Bernadoodle, is so cute and energetic. Our doggies had a good time together. I am relieved to know that they are here and available for our future excursions and travels. In fact, knowing this makes me want to plan my next trip. I would highly recommend them.

We recently had Lauren dog sit our cockapoo during the day as a trial run before a longer two-night stay, and we couldn’t be happier with the experience. Lauren was absolutely fantastic—attentive not only to our needs but, more importantly, to our pup’s. Our dog is still very much in puppy mode, and Lauren expertly guided him through a gentle and thoughtful introduction to her own dog, making sure he felt safe and comfortable throughout the day. At pickup, he was all wags and doggy smiles, clearly having had a great time. It’s such a relief to know he’s in good hands, and we’re genuinely looking forward to future stays with Lauren. Highly recommended!

Here are tips for finding the ideal day care fit for your dog:
- For some small dogs: In-home day care can be the perfect fit. Look for sitters whose "can host" section only lists dogs weighing 0–7 kilograms and/or 7–18 kilograms. During your Meet & Greet, ask about play areas based on dog size and energy level.
- For high-energy dogs: The ideal doggy day care can offer scheduled breaks and outdoor spaces or activities. You can also find sitters who host multiple dogs to satisfy your pup’s socializing needs.
- For dogs who prefer human-only companionship: Use the filters "Doesn't own a dog" and "Only accepts one pet at a time" to find the right care.
Play groups can be an option when you book with a day care sitter through Rover. Many sitters do host a small number of dogs at the same time. Smaller dog packs are generally safer, more fun, and ideal for dogs who enjoy playtime but also want to relax throughout the day. When looking for your dog’s pack, check the sitter’s profile to see if they "Accept multiple clients" or have their own dogs. Then during the Meet & Greet, you can see whether your dog is a good fit for their social circle!
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in CA ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.

Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
