Pet care experience

Insured + caring pet & housesitter

What sets me apart from other sitters? 5 things: (1) I carry professional pet care insurance, and - along with clear communication and accurate disclosure - will help ensure that you and your pet(s)' experience with me is safe and for everyone. (2) When a client confirms their reservation with me, I will not accept reservations from other clients. This means that your pet or pets (only from the same household) will not share their space with "strangers". I, myself, do not have any pets. I understand how stressful it can be for cats and dogs to be in an unfamiliar environment and I want to help mitigate their stress by ensuring that they are in a place they feel safe - which means either with their fellow cat or dog siblings or by themselves. (3) My care philosophy - which prioritizes making your cat or dog feel safe in my home [and surrounding neighborhood]. This entails keeping your pet's routine as similar to the one they have at home (i.e., medication, food, walks, sleep, etc.). I have seen and experienced firsthand how being in a different environment, away from loved ones, can physically affect a pet's health - leading to stress-induced colitis (diarrhea), constipation, dermatitis, etc. To help me ensure that pets feel safe in my home, I send my clients a questionnaire regarding their pet's eating, sleeping, walking, etc. routine - in addition to the optional "Meet and Greet". I try my best to accommodate your pet's routine. For example, I made boiled eggs and steamed broccoli for a dog and shared my bed with a cat. (4) I take a TON of pictures and video (viewable only through the Rover app) of your dog or cat during their stay. Plus, I provide each client a small souvenir to commemorate their pet's stay. (5) All (#1-#4) at a reasonable price point that is accessible to most. --------------------------------------------------------- Your pet’s safety and well-being are my top priorities. I require a meet-and-greet before boarding or daycare to ensure a good fit. Pet owners remain financially responsible for veterinary care if needed, and emergency care may be authorized if you cannot be reached. I carry professional pet care insurance, and clear communication and accurate disclosure help ensure a safe, positive stay for everyone. I know how to care for senior pets, those who have cancer, and even pets who become ill during their stay. I will make sure than they get the proper nourishment and enrichment time they need as well as take any medications, vitamins, supplements, etc...

This was our second time using Renee, and we couldn't be happier. Our puppy, Aloo, was in amazing hands with her for the 10 days we were away on vacation. While we definitely missed him and were a bit worried, seeing what a happy puppy he was with her completely put our minds at ease. We highly recommend her!

Renee is so warm and caring with our Theodore. She took extra care to make sure Theo was comfortable with his first stay with her.

Renee took such good care of Riley and Dakota. She was super attentive and made sure they were safe and happy. She sent daily updates, pictures, and videos. At the end of their stay, she made a collage and cartoon of the dogs, which I am obsessed with. Riley and Dakota loved their stay with her and we will definitely pick her again!

Wow! Renee did an amazing job with Aloo. She asked a bunch of questions about his needs, sent a ton of photos and videos, and showed him so much love and care. My wife and I were shocked that he tried to go in her arms at the end of the night as he never lets anyone besides us hold him without wiggling out. He is obsessed with her and we will be hiring her again and would entrust her completely for a longer stay.

Renee is the BEST cat sitter on earth! My cat absolutely loved her! She sent lots of pictures and updates. She even ordered in treats and extra food for my baby when I ran into an issue that prevented me from picking up my cat on time. She is a true animal person and a gentle, kind human being! Her rates are affordable especially for cat services. I have been using Rover for 10 years, and she is definitely someone I would use again and again!

Safety, trust & environment

Your pet’s safety and well-being are my top priorities. I require a meet-and-greet before boarding or daycare to ensure a good fit. Pet owners remain financially responsible for veterinary care if needed, and emergency care may be authorized if you cannot be reached. I carry professional pet care insurance, and - through clear communication and accurate disclosure - will help ensure that you and your pet(s)' experience with me is as positive as possible. When I have sat for pets in the past, I would care for them in my home. This past summer, for example, I watched over two cats (Banana and Binx) in my home for nearly the entire summer (June - August) while their mom and siblings (human) were in Europe. I had a drinking fountain for them and had a tray with tiny ceramic plates to ensure they ate every 4-6 hours in 1 24 hour period. When the weather was not too hot, I let them out into the catio my partner and I built in our fenced yard. When it was too hot for the catio, I put on "cat-tv" on Youtube or let them birdwatch from their perches in my home office. I would also play with them using their toys.

A typical day

Please let me know what activities you enjoy doing with your dog or cat and at what times during the day or night so that I can ensure that there is no disruption to their usual routine. I understand that pets appreciate routine and stability, and I will strive to ensure that they maintain that. In the past, I have taken both dogs and cats for walks - with the latter in the safety of a stroller or "baby bjorn"-type contraption. I will also play with them using interactive toys provided by their owner - either inside my home or outside in my enclosed yard or the catio I built for the two cats I have been watching every summer since 2023.

I understand that being in a new environment can sometimes be stressful for pets. My care philosophy—whether for humans or animals—can be summed up simply as: Safety → Health → Happiness. When a cat or dog feels safe, they are less anxious, experience less stress, and are better able to maintain their overall health. Most importantly, they can truly enjoy their time away from home. A key part of helping your pet feel safe and secure is keeping their routine as consistent as possible—such as medication schedules, feeding, walks, sleep, and playtime. I have seen firsthand how changes in environment and routine can physically affect a pet’s well-being, especially for pets who are strongly attached to their owners. In some cases, this may lead to stress-related issues such as digestive upset or skin irritation. To help me provide the best possible care, I kindly ask clients to complete an intake form that contains questions about their pet’s daily routines, preferences, and needs. I will do my very best to accommodate these and ensure that each pet feels safe, comfortable, and well cared for in my home. To ensure the best possible experience for everyone, I also kindly request a meet-and-greet with your pet(s) before confirming any boarding or doggy daycare request. This allows me to become familiar with your pet’s personality, routines, and needs in advance and helps minimize the likelihood of disruptions or the need for changes during the stay.
