“Eve did a great job caring for our dog, Jake. She obviously is very experienced in caring for dogs and understands and knows how to deal with their behaviors. We also appreciated Eve sending us pictures and updates on Jake over the several days he was with her. Highly recommend Eve to care for other’s pets.”

“Yeini watched my dogs for the first time. She made sure to update me multiple times through the day. I am super happy with her services. My 2 malteses looked happy when I picked them up!”

“Morgan couldn't have been sweeter and our Golden Retriever Henry made new friends and obviously loved her so much he ran back from our car to say goodbye!! She was considerate of the heat, and let him cuddle up with toys to make up for the ones I forgot to give him. She made sure he didnt learn new habits like joining the other visitors on her furniture. Loved her huge property and even bigger heart as she also cares for retired & blind horses. We highly recommend Morgan!!!”

“Joan was AMAZING with my diabetic cat. There are no words to describe how nice she was to me and my baby. It's been a very stressful beginning to what may be a long journey with diabetes. She put my mind at ease and I was comforted with her experience on handling the necessary insulin shots that he needed. She was also kind enough to stay with my cat on a night when he was having a hard time. She went above and beyond with making him feel at home. I can't thank her enough. I wish I could rate her 10 stars!!! :-)”

“Kym & Glen took such great care of my Frankie! They both have great personalities and communicated well with me during my dogs stay. I could hardly get Frankie to come back home with me he had so much fun!”

“Kathy J. is an excellent dog sitter. Her home is clean, and built for puppies to have fun. The atmosphere that our babies receive from Kathy and her husband is full of much loving care and fun. Our puppies enjoyed playing with their two puppies during their stay. Kathy sent pictures and updates everyday so we could know how our boys were doing which was awesome. Won't hesitate calling on Kathy J. again if care is needed. ”

“Corinne was so kind and loving with my dogs! She treated them with such care . I am so thankful for her. She sent updates with pictures which made me feel so at ease, knowing they were in excellent care with her. My dogs were happy there and so well taken care of! Would 1000% ask her to watch my dogs again. Thank you!!!”

“Marcella and Ty are an outstanding couple, very loving and skilled with the dogs, I was happy to find out they spent time doing some training with my very large and full of energy pups..their property is gorgeous with lots of room to run and play! Looking forward to doing some daycare as well as boarding. Highly recommend!!”

“Nicole and her family were wonderful with my pug and French bulldog! They are a true dog family and Nicole has prior dog experience that was very helpful in terms of gauging behavior, interaction with other dogs, and any individual needs. They gave them lots of playtime as well as breaks/rest, asked good questions, and shared photos & videos. Nicole has a large fenced-in yard that my dogs loved tearing around in. Their family also were able to help on short notice when I had a family emergency out-of-state, which made a huge difference. Thank you SO much for caring for my pups!”

“I was nervous the first time I used Rover but from my first meeting with Lindsey she put me at ease. My dog Finn loved her on sight and one of my. 2 cats came right up to her. Finn went to her house to stay for 4 nights and Lindsey came daily to take care of the kitties. She even brought in the mail while we were gone. Ever day she sent pictures and text messages to let us know how they were. By the time we came home Finn had more than made himself at home. I wouldn’t hesitate to use Lindsey in the future.”

“Elisa is amazing. I was so nervous leaving Emjay for so many days and with a stranger to boot. I highly recommend. Super sweet. Clean house. Gated area. Just perfect.”

“We will definitely use Jessica again. We needed a puppy sitter for over two weeks and Roxy came back happy and healthy and had a great time. We could tell she was loved and had other dogs to play with. It was very reassuring to know our puppy has another home she loves to spend time at and wouldn’t be lonely while we were away.”

“Rebel had a good time and enjoyed having other dogs around him. We usually like to see where our dog sleeps, eats, and plays, but were not allowed inside the sitters home. This was a little disappointing to us but we do understand that it may be disruptive to the other dogs. For that reason, we cannot accurately rate the home environment. We truly appreciate Hope taking care of Rebel while we were away.”

“My doggies are part of the family so its very important to find great care for them. I have met few dogsitters before i decided to leave them with Donna. I love the big yard and homey feeling of their house. Donna nd her husband have a great experierence and love for pets. I trust my gut feeling and have peace in my heart when i am away. Thank you”

“Our whole experience with Crysta and her loving family was amazing. She cared for Maci as her own. My pup was in great hands. Crysta has so much experience and expertise with pets. I’d love for Maci to stay with Crysta again!”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Lakewood Ranch
Lori and her husband welcomed my Louie and Natty into their home this past weekend. This was our first Rover experience and it could not have been better. My boys were well taken care of, happy and I received regular progress updates and pictures which I loved. Lori was also very accommodating when our flight home was running late. I would highly recommend Lori, and I will do so to family and friends in the area. If you want the best care for your pet, I would book Lori. This was a wonderful first experience with Rover!

Nicole and her family were wonderful with my pug and French bulldog! Ashley was wonderful with Lulu during our 6 night trip. She had great communication, sent daily photo updates, followed all of our care requests, and made us feel completely comfortable boarding our pup while we were away. Lulu was happy and well cared for when we picked her up, and Ashley even packed up all of her gear for pickup, which was so thoughtful. We would absolutely book with her again!

We had a wonderful experience with Amy! She provided daily photos and frequent updates, which gave us so much peace of mind while we were away. Her communication was excellent, and it was clear she treated our dog as if she were her own. We couldn’t have asked for better care and would highly recommend her!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in FL ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
