“James took such great care of my dog Fletcher for a 3 night stay! I got daily updates with pics and James had Fletcher happily waiting for an easy quick pick up! My dog LOVED playing with James' dogs. HIGHLY recommend James!”

“Excellent as always! Sadly Cindy and Steve have moved away, so this was our last stay with them. It will be hard to fill those shoes. We will miss you. Thank you for your kind care with our dogs!”

“Duff had a wonderful first visit with Lindsey G. We felt very comfortable leaving him in her care. We are looking forward to a long relationship knowing Duff is in great hands.”

“Yeini watched my dogs for the first time. She made sure to update me multiple times through the day. I am super happy with her services. My 2 malteses looked happy when I picked them up!”

“We can't imagine that there is a better person out there to watch our dog while we are away. Marianna took great care of our girl and gave her tons of love. We were kept up to date on all of her activities and adventures and we know our girl was in a great place.”

“If we could go higher than 5 stars, we would. Morgan willingly accepted caring for our anxious Aussie after our vet recommended that we find one-on-one care for him, rather than boarding him in a "commercial" facility. Morgan daily sent notes and photos of him at play with other dogs in her care and made sure that he got plenty of exercise as well as a lot of personal attention, petting and loving. Morgan even allowed him to sleep with her, thus continuing to provide the human contact his highly anxious personality craves. He never once needed any of his prescribed anxiety medication! Instead of being super-stressed out when we picked him up, he was happy and calm. Morgan's calmness, care and nurturing is exactly what he needed. We cannot thank her enough for giving us peace of mind during our time spent with family over the holidays.”

About: DOODLES ONLY PLEASE. I work from home. Had an Auzzie Doodle who lived over 15+ years and passed a year ago (in the profile picture). Dog friendly house - fenced in back yard. Primarily open to watch any kind of ...doodle. Doing it because I miss my old boy and have the time since I work from home. You and your doodle (and me) will be very happy. I'm available as I work from home and have always had a dog so I know how to bond quickly with them so they feel safe in my home. Like they were my own. Very calm environment. No other animals, no children. Just me and your dog. Nice neighborhood for long walks as needed.

About: I have taken care of animals my whole life, and have cared for 4 dogs in my home until. I love dogs, the outdoors, and being active, so dog walking is super fun for me! I have experience with high-energy dogs as well as slower senior pups. I work part-time and have a very flexible schedule, so I have plenty of free time for your pets! I’m currently available all day (including early mornings) until evening, Monday-Saturday for walks or check-in visits. I currently have Bo, a senior pitbull, who is super chill and has no problems with other dogs. I also recently got a Belgian Malinois puppy named Darth Vader! Mercury, my brother’s 6 year old Australian Cattle dog, loves to play and I take care of him on occasion. We have a large patio and pool that dogs can enjoy laying in the sun or swimming! I also have a super walk able neighborhood, with a walking trail that is off the pavement. Additionally, I do enjoy taking dogs in the car for walks in new locations or trips to the dog beach/park!
“Misty and Dan have watched our Frenchie, Winston, multiple times. Winston is always excited to go, so this assures me that he is well taken care of. Misty also sends us pictures/videos daily which helps us miss him less. We trust Misty and will continue to board with her.”

“As usual Doris had a great time at Miss Kathy's house and practically didn't want to leave. We recently moved north to St Petersburg, but if I travel south, we'll be dropping Doris with Miss Kathy every time!!”

“Deborah did a fantastic job! She communicated to advise if all was going well. Was very professional and in my opinion, is an expert in dog sitting. She has several dogs and is well equipped to manage a dog. Was pleasantly surprised how easy the process was and how my Lola enjoyed the stay. Great experience and will definitely use her service again!!”

“I highly recommend Kelly! She was sweet, accommodating, and always quick to respond. We could tell our dog had an amazing time and was well cared for. We will definitely book with her again!”

“Marybeth and Russ were amazing with our dog, Bella! Upon meeting with them, they were very caring and took detailed notes regarding her routine and habits. It was apparent that they truly cared. While away, we felt very confident that she was in great hands. It was the longest we have ever left her and our children (us included) truly appreciated the text and picture updates. We have already booked Marybeth and Russ for a future visit with Bella. We feel so fortunate to have found them!”

About: I’ve been taking care of animals since I was about 11 and have always been the go-to pet helper in my neighborhood. I grew up loving nature thanks to my mom we were always visiting zoos and wildlife reserves, so being around animals has just always felt natural to me. My family has had both dogs and cats my whole life, and I truly adore them all. Your furry loved one will be treated like family with me and cared for with lots of love and attention 🐾💛 My schedule is fully open at the moment! Would love to take your dog for a walk early morning/late afternoon so it’s not too hot!!! I can also do drop in visits! I am very respectful of your space and treat your home just like it’s my own. I always clean up after myself and your pet, and I make sure everything is left exactly how I found it. Your pet’s safety and comfort are my top priorities. I’m also happy to host pets in my home, where they’ll receive lots of attention and care.
“We were very pleased with Anne’s care for our dog . Our dog had emergency surgery 3 weeks before the dog sitting. We reviewed the extras that Sophie would need - exercises, activity restrictions, special accommodations which Anne felt she could handle. She kept in touch with us via texts & photos. We returned home to a happy , healthy dog. We would definitely use Anne in the future!”

“Ray and his son took great care of our pups. This was their first time away from home. I got pictures of my boys everyday along with a little message letting me know they were doing well. I can’t thank him enough for his caring nature and love he has for dogs.”

I cannot recommend Katarina enough. Teddy unexpectedly developed GI issues that required a strict diet and extra care, and Katarina handled everything with such patience and professionalism. She kept us updated constantly, giving us total peace of mind. We are so grateful for the extra effort she put in during a difficult situation—she is a true 'dog person' and a total lifesaver. Highly recommend! Thank you for taking such wonderful care of our boy!

Leslie was an amazing dog sitter! She took such great care of my pup and kept me completely at ease by sending regular pictures and updates. It was clear my dog was happy, comfortable, and well-loved the entire time. I really appreciated her communication and kindness. I will definitely be booking with Leslie again—highly recommend!

The best! If your pet is lucky enough to have Marcy, then you and your pet are in for a tweet. Stella had plenty of walks, love and attention. Marcy went out of her way to come to our house to meet Stella and ourselves prior to taking Stella in. I dropped Stella off at her lovely home with plenty of space for Stella. Marcy returned Stella to our home, so that we didn’t have to go out after my surgery. It was the perfect match. I hope Stella is lucky enough to go and stay with Marcy again.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in FL ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
