“Shep was well taken care of while with Kimber. Her son was also a big factor is Shep’s care. We received pictures & updates about his day with his new buddy dark! He was very happy when we came to pick him up, energetic & in great spirits. We will be happy to use Kimber in the future.”

“Jersey loved staying with Robin!! She took amazing care of him while we had a few days away! Let him sleep with her, took him for walks and spent some time gardening in her backyard! Robin has an inviting, warm, clean, beautiful home that any pup would love to visit! Great street views on a comfy ottoman are the added bonus for Jersey! She doesn’t take multiple clients at a time which was comforting for us—although Jersey loves playing with other pups, we don’t know that other pups love playing with him. Thank you for the assurance our baby would be safe and well taken care of while in your care!”

“Paco had an amazing stay with Viktoryia and Coco! I got lots of updates and photos. Would happily leave Paco with them again. Thank you for taking such good care of our boy!”

“Merve was great with our pup! Had no issues with special diet and supplements and sent photos or video everyday. Dru had such a great time playing all week with Thor. Thanks so much!”

“Jeanne was the perfect sitter for us ! New to the area , we did a meet & greet . During our meet & great , we knew we made the right choice . She updated us every day on the daily routine sending pics and messages. Being out of the country , this was reassuring and allowed us the relax and enjoy our time away. You will not be disappointed using Jeanne . She was exceptional at her job and my guys didn't want to go home !”

“Baron had a great time and well managed. Monica was fantastic and easy to work with! What more could you ask for when boarding your doggo and having to leave them in the sometime else's care?”

“When I showed up my puppy was in the arms of the owners. She was so loved and they walked her and took videos of her walking. You can tell they truly love dogs. I would highly recommend them!!”

“I had a lot of anxiety about leaving my naughty and anxious Malinois but Svetlana was exceptional. She kept him safe and calm. We would use her again without hesitation.”

“Corinne was so kind and loving with my dogs! She treated them with such care . I am so thankful for her. She sent updates with pictures which made me feel so at ease, knowing they were in excellent care with her. My dogs were happy there and so well taken care of! Would 1000% ask her to watch my dogs again. Thank you!!!”

“She sent lots of pictures and was very accommodating with sh l schedule for pick up and drop off, as well as a meetup to make sure the dogs got along with her dogs. Plenty of space for the dogs to run around and play outside including a nice shaded area with a koi pond. Thank you for taking care of our dogs while we were away for the weekend.”

“If I could give Morgan 10 stars, I would. We had holiday travel that had us away for 10 days. We found Morgan as an alternative to your standard pet resort. We knew we wanted the one on one experience for our yellow lab. Morgan provided that and then some. She goes above and beyond to make sure all the animals in her care feel like they’re at home. With daily photos and updates, we felt like we were right there in the action! This was our first visit with Morgan but most certainly won’t be our last!”

“Thank you Riya for a peaceful trip knowing that Wingnut was happy and secure. We are so happy to find the perfect sitter to watch our Lab! I feel like you really cared and wanted the best experience for all of us! Thank you.”

“We had a great experience with Jennifer Watching our 2 senior dogs. I received lots of photos and a video of them. They seemed so content. I would definitely recommend Jennifer to anyone needing to board their pets with her!!”

“Marybeth and Russ provided excellent care to Finn. They sent us updates and pictures where we really appreciated. Finn seemed very happy when we picked him up which pleased us.”

“Ray and his son took great care of our pups. This was their first time away from home. I got pictures of my boys everyday along with a little message letting me know they were doing well. I can’t thank him enough for his caring nature and love he has for dogs.”

“Dana accepted our request within a week of the stay, so we were so thankful she could fit us in last minute. Our cat is very nervous around new people and hides the first couple days but Dana let us know that she came out to eat and sit near her which doesn’t happen everytime. We felt a good energy the moment we met Dana and felt comfortable leaving our baby there with her. She sent us photos and words each day of the stay, I wouldn’t hesitate to reach out again if needed. Thank you so much Dana!!!!”

Lisa is wonderful! Bosco can be a little finicky and ‘moody’— and certainly doesn’t like kennels. So we tried Rover and were blessed enough to find Lisa! Thank you again— and will likely check in with Lisa to make sure she’s available before even planning our next trip!

Frequently asked questions about Rover
There are 758 sitters on Rover for Pet Boarding in South Venice. About 91% of South Venice sitters can respond to requests in under 60 minutes. Whether you’re planning ahead for holidays, need last-minute care, or need same-day coverage for an urgent trip, you can message multiple sitters at once to find available care.
Once you find the right match, you can arrange a Meet & Greet to ensure they are a perfect fit for your pet’s personality before confirming.
If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poop breaks occurred. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available 24/7 by email or chat if you have concerns.
The personalized, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in FL ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
