“Bob I s definitely a dog lover. We met his sweet dogs and felt instantly comfortable with him caring for our golden doodle. We were happy that he cheated in with us the next day to tell us she was doing fine. We will be happy to use him again in the future. Highly recommended.”

“Melisa was absolutely wonderful with my dog, Leo! She spent so much quality time with him….playing, walking, and really making sure he felt comfortable and cared for. I could tell he was happy and well loved while I was away, which gave me so much peace of mind. It means a lot to find someone who treats your pet like their own, and Melisa truly did that. I would 100% trust her with Leo again and highly recommend her to anyone looking for a reliable and caring sitter! 🐾💛”

“Vivian did a great job keeping me updated on how everything was going with our dog. She didn't just give me general updates, but instead, she provided details and made me feel at ease. I was confident that our dog was being well taken care of.”

“Aliyana was absolutely amazing with my boy Kenai super attentive towards him and he had friends there too with her animals. She also sends pictures and videos throughout the day so your always in the loop of things. She took him out to play and on multiple walks and treats. I know this says five stars but she deserves more 100/100 Ladies and Gentlemen your pets deserve someone amazing and she is all that and some. Thank you for taking such great care of my boy. This is now our go to pet sitter”

“Thank you Jennifer for caring for Bailey. It was nice to get pictures and updates while we were gone. We’re very glad you and your family enjoyed having him in your home.”

“If I could give Morgan 10 stars, I would. We had holiday travel that had us away for 10 days. We found Morgan as an alternative to your standard pet resort. We knew we wanted the one on one experience for our yellow lab. Morgan provided that and then some. She goes above and beyond to make sure all the animals in her care feel like they’re at home. With daily photos and updates, we felt like we were right there in the action! This was our first visit with Morgan but most certainly won’t be our last!”

“Kimber is a dog lover through and through. She communicated with us daily sending pics and videos of our dog during our trip.. She was quick in responding to our questions and as easy to book with. Our dog had plenty of dog friends to play with while there, as well as a cozy spot on her couch to lounge in. When we were delayed picking up our dog she was very accommodating. We would definitely use her again.”

“When we read all of these impossible reviews we thought to ourselves no one can be this good. And all honesty we have come to realize that every Star that Claudia has she earned it. She is the Dog whisperer in flying colors. Our dog is 12 years old and he does not want to stay with anyone. She was able to win him over and he actually did not want to leave her. Even though the bonus was our little 5-month-old puppy who is so lovable that he'll make you fall right in love with him in just in the first two minutes of meeting him. We were really worried about that 12-year-old who never stays with anyone. Claudia is top-notch and I must say she keeps you up to date with pictures and texts and these dogs are overwhelmed with patience, love, and understanding. Along with toys and treats etc. She and her family will be the only one taking care of our dogs from now on.”

“After our meet and greet, where my Lucy was greeted by Erica'sweet little dog, she walked right up to the house. The first day of her stay and made herself right at home. Erica sent me lots of pictures. And I knew Lucy was getting all the snuggles, she needed. I will call erica again”

About: I have been a dog owner since I was a kid! Being raised around dogs has given me an appreciation for how much love and attention they require. I understand that your pet is a member of your family and the amount of responsibility that comes with taking care of them. I will provide a fun and interactive environment for your pet. I am part of a big family with children who love animals and will love to have playtime with them! Your pet will be completely safe and well cared for in my home. I will only take animals in during hours when I am home and able to be there should your pet require immediate attention. Thank you so much for your consideration! I'm looking forward to being able to care for a much loved member of your family! I currently work from home and have a flexible schedule, which means that I can accommodate my schedule to work with you and your pets needs. I have one fur baby myself at home, who is a curious boy and loves to get to know other animals! I have four teenage boys who volunteer with me at our local animal shelter. If needed, I have an extra crate for your pet. I also have flexible leashes, doggy waste bags, and other chew toys and treats. I do not have a fenced yard, but I do live in a safe and secure neighborhood with sidewalks perfect for walking dogs.
“Peggy was amazing! She helped me out very last minute and on a holiday weekend. She gave us cute updates and Ari got SO much attention; she loved Peggy and made herself right at home! I would highly recommend Peggy to anyone who’s needs to board their pets in a safe and loving environment. Ari can’t wait to go back!”

“Very happy that we found Teri to watch our Oliver. He was well taken care of and loved. She has a wonderful home for the dogs to feel comfortable in with access to a fenced backyard. She was attentive to Oliver and his sensitivity to thunder and lightening. Would highly recommend Teri and her services. We will definitely be using her again in the future.”

“My Izzy absolutely loves staying with Jeanne! She is an active puppy and has lots of friends to play with at Jeanne's house. She is well loved, gets lots of exercise and Jeanne is wonderful about letting you know how your puppy is doing throughout the day. Jeanne has a long history of rescuing and taking care of dogs and has helped me with some minor puppy issues. She is wonderful and I am pretty sure I missed my little girl more than she missed me!!! Thank you Jeanne!”

“Our two frenchies enjoyed their stay with Jacqueline. Jacqueline has great communication and sent us several updates and pictures of our fur babies throughout our trip. She provided excellent care and love to the fur babies. So thankful to have a pet sitter that provided the same amount of attention they would receive at home.”

“Linda did a great job taking care of my 2 dogs. I’ve never boarded them before and am I happy I tried it. Nice to know that they are not alone and get loved on just as if they were at home. She sent pictures and video to show that they were doing great. I plan on using Linda everytime we need a sitter.”

“We left our 4 month old puppy for the very 1st time. Jeny took such good care of Piper! We got videos, pictures and daily updates. It was so hard to leave our puppy but Jeny was amazing with her!! Highly recommend!”

“I'm so glad we found Krista to care for our dog while we were out of town, she took great care of him! My dog usually takes some time to trust people but he warmed up to Krista right away, it was obvious to me too how much she loves and knows about dogs. Her communication was wonderful and she provided me with an update and photos each day, which I really appreciated. She has a very lovely and clean home with a nice fenced yard. I highly recommend Krista to take care of your”

“Emily and Aaron are fantastic people! They really did treat my baby as if he was their own. The pictures I got everyday was just the cutest and you could see how truly happy he was. Their son is so adorable and so gentle with the dogs, he enjoyed playing with Sparky I would definitely recommend this family for dog boarding, I know we will absolutely use them again. Thanks again for loving my little fur baby!!!!”

“Mike was fantastic... he realized quickly that Cricket was a people pup and let her just follow him around and gave her special attention. He kept me informed on her progress and made sure to ask questions when he thought something might be bothering her. I'm very happy to have him watch her for my upcoming trips and some occasional daycare. I'm so glad to have found a sitter who will take such good care of my precious pup... as she means the absolute world to me.”

Jeny took such great care of our pup! We brought our dog on vacation but spent a couple days away where we couldnt bring her. Jeny sent lots of photos to keep us updated. We could see our girl was having a great time and was well cared for. Would book again if traveling to this area in the future!

Our dog Luna loves to go to see Britney’s family! While she was excited to see us, as we drove away from Britney’s house, Luna stared out the back window as we got farther away. I think it was a bittersweet moment for her. I told her to not worry. She will be back again as we won’t have anyone else watch her while we are away! We are so fortunate to have selected the best sitter with our first selection from Rover.

Taylor was absolutely amazing! She knows dogs well and is super friendly and compassionate. I trusted her completely with my 3 fur babies while I flew home for the holidays. She even gave them all stockings with a toy, treat and blanket in them😊 So sweet! She kept me updated always with texts and pictures and I never was worried my whole trip. Her children are so sweet and loved on my fur kids and I was so glad everyone became good friends. I 100% recommend booking with Taylor if you are in need of fantastic sitter in Port Charlotte!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in FL ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
