“Jennifer was great! She sent me photos and videos almost daily and took great care of my babies! She was very flexible with the drop off and pick up times as my schedule was a bit unpredictable when I was gone. I would definitely recommend her!”

“Taylor was absolutely amazing! She knows dogs well and is super friendly and compassionate. I trusted her completely with my 3 fur babies while I flew home for the holidays. She even gave them all stockings with a toy, treat and blanket in them😊 So sweet! She kept me updated always with texts and pictures and I never was worried my whole trip. Her children are so sweet and loved on my fur kids and I was so glad everyone became good friends. I 100% recommend booking with Taylor if you are in need of fantastic sitter in Port Charlotte!”

I know this says five stars but she deserves more 100/100 Ladies and Gentlemen your pets deserve someone amazing and she is all that and some. Thank you for taking such great care of my boy. This is now our go to pet sitter”

“Angela took care of Lucky on very short notice and I’m so grateful she was able to help. She sent pictures and updates, made sure he was fed, and got him out for walks. Communication was easy and reassuring, and it was clear Lucky was in good hands. I’d absolutely book with Angela again!”

“When I showed up my puppy was in the arms of the owners. She was so loved and they walked her and took videos of her walking. You can tell they truly love dogs. I would highly recommend them!!”

“Couldn't have gone better. Ana was kind, caring, responsible and so considerate of my dog and myself. He had such a good time. Ana sent me pictures every day and let me know how he was doing. He really had his own fun vacation. She even sewed up his favorite toy that I'd left for him all coming apart. I'm so happy and will definitely take my dog to Ana again in the future. I think this is her calling.”

“After having our original Rover boarder back out two days before our trip due to Hurricane Milton, we were very fortunate to have found Monica at the last moment. As a native Floridian, Monica’s confidence made us more comfortable with leaving Jolene to ride out a major hurricane. As things worked out, we were extremely pleased with the turn of events. Jolene seemed very comfortable with Monica and, after a couple of days of initial shyness, Jolene became very comfortable with her new family. She loved having the large backyard to run in, and thoroughly enjoyed running with Monica’s energetic dogs. Monica sent us lots of pictures during our absence, which gave us a lot of comfort. There is no question that Monica will be our first choice for future bookings.”

“Dana accepted our request within a week of the stay, so we were so thankful she could fit us in last minute. Our cat is very nervous around new people and hides the first couple days but Dana let us know that she came out to eat and sit near her which doesn’t happen everytime. We felt a good energy the moment we met Dana and felt comfortable leaving our baby there with her. She sent us photos and words each day of the stay, I wouldn’t hesitate to reach out again if needed. Thank you so much Dana!!!!”

About: Your dog will enjoy every minute of their vacation at our home!!!! We always enjoy meeting new friends and introducing them to our chocolate labs. I am retired and would love to spend my days with your fur babies. I love animals and especially dogs. My heart aches that they live such a short life. I have a fenced in yard with a doggie door going out into our backyard. Our 2 chocolate labs would love to entertain your baby!!! I can also crate your dog if you prefer. We live on a quiet culdesac which is ideal for dog walking.
“Thanks for taking such good care of my old boy, AJ! I was confident he was in good hands during the stay. Thank you for sending pictures to update us. It sure helped set my mind at ease. We will definitely be re-booking when we return to the area.”

“Savannah was excellent. I am a new Dad to a large 1.5 year old dog. This was my first time needing a dog sitter and I was nervous. She reassured me Everything would be fine, and her goal was to treat him as if he was on vacation while I was out of town. She sent me daily updates including pictures while traveling. She also gave me tips on helping with training him. I really appreciate and highly recommend Savannah.”

“David and his wife were very easy to deal with from the meet and greet to the day Brady came home after a 6-day stay with them. My pup was a happy boy; and I loved the pix and update I received every day. Their home is so very dog-friendly---no crating, pups sleeping on the couch and jumping on their bed to say good morning, etc. They were wonderful to Brady, and I would highly recommend them if/when you are in a situation where you have to find a caretaker for your 4-legged child.”

“We left our 4 month old puppy for the very 1st time. Jeny took such good care of Piper! We got videos, pictures and daily updates. It was so hard to leave our puppy but Jeny was amazing with her!! Highly recommend!”

“Kimber did an amazing job with my two big boys! She was attentive, calm, and true dog lover. She sent videos multiple times a day and it was wonderful to see how happy all the pups were. Thank you so much!”

“Donna and George take great care of our dog Lucy. This was the second time they watched Lucy for us. Lucy is high energy and we appreciate the care they give her. Their fenced in yard is so important for Lucy so she can run off some of that energy. She eats well while she is there, we can see what we pick her up she is happy and had a good time. We will definitely have Donna and George watch Lucy again in the future.”

“Jen was very nice. She loves obedience training and was able to understand that my dog is high energy. She sent a picture that my dog looks so happy! Will rebook”

“Tony was wonderful with our dog, Louie. He kept in regular communication throughout Louie’s stay, which gave us peace of mind. We felt comfortable and confident leaving our dog in Tony’s care and would use him again.”

Our dog Luna loves to go to see Britney’s family! While she was excited to see us, as we drove away from Britney’s house, Luna stared out the back window as we got farther away. I think it was a bittersweet moment for her. I told her to not worry. She will be back again as we won’t have anyone else watch her while we are away! We are so fortunate to have selected the best sitter with our first selection from Rover.

Preparing for drop-off is easy when you have a checklist! To help your dog settle into their Port Charlotte home-away-from-home, we recommend packing:
- Health and safety essentials such as their ID tags, vaccination records, medication, and emergency vet or secondary caregiver contacts.
- Food and gear such as harnesses, collars, food (portioned by day), and an item that smells like you.

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in FL ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
