“Angela is simply the most dedicated, punctual, caring provider. My Henri loves to go to her home. She is extremely patient and kind. He is geriatric at 15 years old and I trust her completely with his care.”

“Taylor was amazing! She was in constant communication with me and sent me daily updates and pictures. Taylor and her family were very sweet and loving and made my dog feel right at home!”

“Jennifer was amazing! My Benji loved her so much. She really takes her time to play with the dog and keeps you informed of everything with pictures and videos. Definitely using her again very soon.”

“Teri is absolutely phenomenal! She took such great care of our pups, sent us pics and spoiled them to the max. They enjoyed staying with she and her husband, and playing with their new friends. Highly recommend!”

“Marcela and her husband were great with our Roxy, they took great care of her, and they were very responsive to our questions and kept us constantly updated with pictures. I got back into town later than i expected and they were very understanding. Will definitely be using them again.”

“Jeny was so great, she sent me pictures and videos the whole time we were away and you could tell our dog. Oliver, was well cared for and had so much fun! We will definitely use her again! Thank you so much Jeny!”

“Wrigley seemed to have a good time socializing with Erin and Stephen's dogs. She was well taken care of, and she liked Stephen a lot. She had plenty of space to run and play in their fenced back yard. I don't know how they kept her out of their swimming pool as she loves to swim. We will definitely use them again for dog boarding.”

“My dog means everything to me, and leaving her is very difficult. I went to see Krista and she seemed to be right person to watch Maggie. I was wrong, she was an outstanding person. Maggie is a dog that needs people and returns that affection with her love. Thanks Krista for taking such great care of her. I will not hesitate to use you in the future. Yours truly Don, Kelley, and of coarse Maggie May.”

“Thank goodness we found Diana. We are from out of town and needed an overnight stay for our dog. Diana and her sons took great care of Pork Chop. I don’t think he even missed us.”

“Excellent care given by Kimberly and James! They took the best care of my Shih Tzu while we were away and even hand fed her when she wouldn’t eat. I will definitely book with them again and would recommend them to anyone!”

About: This is the first year I started pet watching and I have truly enjoyed every second of it. I love to work with all types of animals and plan on adopting a dachshund in the future. I'm an online college student so I can fit into what ever schedule is needed of me. My schedule is 24/7 as long as I don't have any plans or other pets to sit. I do not have any pets and my house is very relaxed as I live with only my grandmother. I willing to do whatever works best for you and your pet.

About: I've taken care of dogs since I was a kid. I have experience with many different breeds andworked for a Veterinarian while in college. I am a retired NYC police officer available 7 days a week. I am usually home and have lots of time available to give your dog the attention it deserves. I have a mini bernadoodle who will keep your dog company. We take 2 long walks a day for excersise, plus potty trips. Playtime during the day and grooming at night.

“Tara took care of our little girl while we were away. She updated me with pictures daily and she was in good hands. I recommend her. Thank you Tara, looking forward for next time.”

“Mike was very thoughtful and considerate with my anxious pup! I told him that she hides in the bathroom when she’s nervous, so he put a dog bed in there for her!! I felt very confident leaving her in his care. He was very accommodating to her needs and even gave me some helpful tips to boost her confidence”

“Where do I begin? Natalie has been so wonderful, in the past and for this most recent stay (8 nights). We received photos, a video montage/slide show, and the most adorable full sheet of little stories about what Poppi did, didn’t do, and other fun things. Natalie was very flexible, both our departure and return times changed, and she was very agreeable to the changes- and happily accommodated said changes. Natalie’s daughter totally embraced Poppi’s loving nature (I.e. lots of licky kisses!) which was above and beyond. I hate to provide such a glowing review because I’d selfishly like to keep her all to myself, but that wouldn’t be fair! All dogs deserve to be loved and cared for as my Poppi has been. Thank you Natalie (and family)!”

Dog parents share their Rover experiences - Punta Gorda Isles
I met Ellen here and inquired with her about watching my sweet girl, Maizy, in her home while we traveled. She responded immediately and we set up a time to meet. She was very easy for both Maizy and I to get along with and her home was clean and practical for her to be pet sitting. We officially booked, and upon dropping Maizy off, we met her husband and their pup, Salty. It was a very pleasant encounter. While away, Ellen kept in touch with updates and photos. After traveling, she and her husband confirmed that Maizy is sweet, well behaved, and was a joy to have around. I will be booking with Ellen again, and would absolutely recommend her as a sitter for your pup too. Thank you, Ellen!

We were so lucky to have Adani care for our girl while we were away. She sent pictures and a video along with feedback about how she was doing. She gave her attention, cuddled with her and let her try some of her dogs food toppers, which Verrin LOVED! She even taught her a new trick! You can tell that Adani loves dogs and has a wealth of knowledge to care for them. We will definitely be using Adani again if she is available when we need a sitter for our girl.

Frequently asked questions about Rover
Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialize in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your ZIP code to find sitters within walking distance in your neighborhood.
Every sitter on Rover has their own routine. Depending on the arrangements you agree on before the stay, a sitter can follow your dog’s regular feeding schedule, provide a comfortable place to sleep, offer companionship, and support their usual exercise and play needs.
Depending on the sitter, their home environment, and your dog’s needs, daily exercise may include walks, outdoor play, indoor enrichment activities, or supervised play with compatible dogs. These activities are not automatically included with every booking, so ask the sitter what a typical day looks like.
During the Meet & Greet, discuss your dog’s usual exercise and play routine, whether they can safely interact with other dogs, and any activities or restrictions the sitter should follow. You can also ask the sitter to send photo and message updates during the stay so you can see how your dog is spending their time.
Preparing for drop-off is easy when you have a checklist! To help your dog settle into their Punta Gorda Isles home-away-from-home, we recommend packing:
- Health and safety essentials such as their ID tags, vaccination records, medication, and emergency vet or secondary caregiver contacts.
- Food and gear such as harnesses, collars, food (portioned by day), and an item that smells like you.
- Special instructions such as a list of training cues, medical administration needs, or favorite hang-out spots in your Punta Gorda Isles.
Tip: You can upload your dog’s routine and medical info directly onto their profile so your sitter always has the details at their fingertips.
You and your Punta Gorda Isles sitter can schedule drop-off and pick-up in a way that works best for the both of you—and your dog. Most sitters offer flexible times for drop-off and pick-up but the easiest way to confirm those times will be through in-app messaging. Confirm your arrival time the day of pick-up and drop-off can also help keep the process smooth and organized.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee, which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page.
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in FL ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
