“Jasper loved his time with Kimber and her family! True professional at what she does and I’m so thankful she was able to take great care of Jasper while I was away. Fantastic communication with daily pictures/videos and she even sent Jasper home with what is now his favorite toy. Highly recommend!”

“After our meet and greet, where my Lucy was greeted by Erica'sweet little dog, she walked right up to the house. The first day of her stay and made herself right at home. Erica sent me lots of pictures. And I knew Lucy was getting all the snuggles, she needed. I will call erica again”

“Claudia was amazing! Sent pic updates and let us know how our pup was doing all throughout the stay. So happy to have found a trustworthy sitter for our boy! Will definitely book again”
“Shawna and her family were so great with Fusilli! We will definitely be bringing our dog back again! They have tons of space for your family pet to run around and have a great time!”

“Barbara and Mario did a wonderful job babysitting my two small dogs, Emmy and Hailey, for the weekend. It was such a comfort knowing they were in caring and trustworthy hands. My girls came home happy and well cared for. I’m very grateful and would absolutely trust them again!”

“Barley loves staying with Michelle and Dane. Michelle is amazing with pictures, videos, and updates. They are also great with accommodating last minute changes in travel time.”

“Tony was wonderful with our dog, Louie. He kept in regular communication throughout Louie’s stay, which gave us peace of mind. We felt comfortable and confident leaving our dog in Tony’s care and would use him again.”

“Kelsey was a great pet sitter. She sent pictures, videos, and updates a couple times daily which helped ease my worries about my 2 chocolate labs. She has a huge fenced in yard which allowed my dogs to get plenty of outdoor time. I would definitely use Kelsey again. Thanks for everything!!”

“We were so happy leaving our dogs with Arleen and Daniel. We are planning a trip in October and we wanted to try an overnight for our kids first, to see how they would do. They kept us updated with pictures, made us feel totally at ease, and even though one of our little babies had some separation anxiety, they didn’t seem bothered by it at all. They understood it was their first time away from us since we had them. We are looking forward to using them in the future. They were the perfect match for our crazy teenagers.”

“Emily and Aaron were such great dog sitters, even over Christmas holiday! They sent pictures of my pet every day..he looked so happy! I would highly recommend them to anyone. Thanks again!!”

“Honestly this was the best experience we have ever had with a rover sitter. Alain and his wife are so kind, they live in a beautiful and very clean house with a nice fenced in yard. They sent multiple videos daily showing Tater Tot being loved on. I think Alain played more ball with Tater daily than Tater is used to. Would 100% use them again in a heart beat.”

“Gleidys took great care of Betty while we were out of town. She was amazing with communication, and we really appreciate the photo and video updates. Betty was happy and well cared for. We absolutely recommend her for anyone looking for a reliable sitter. Thank you so much for taking great care of Betty ❤️”

“It was so hard to leave Stella for such a long period, but immediately relieved when the pictures and videos started coming in. Stella had a blast. She fit right in with the family.. I think she actually looked better picking her up than when I dropped her off. I could tell she had been brushed and combed, well taken care of.”

“My pup is a repeat visitor with Jim. He always spoils her. However, this time, he jumped through some hoops to help us when we unexpectedly had snow affecting our flights. His kindness and flexibility means the world to us. Thank you!!”

“I have used Shelley a few times now and have been very happy every time. She provided a lot of feedback while I was gone. My dogs seemed to be happy there since they received lots of attention!”
“Erin and Steve are great pet hosts. They are intelligent, caring, and genuinely kind individuals. Their home is beautiful, clean, and pet safe. They took excellent care of our dog while we were away for a week. We will certainly request Erin and Steve to care for our dog again as needed in the future. I highly recommend Erin and Steve for daily or weekly boarding of your pets. Your pets will be in excellent care while visiting this family home.”

“We were so lucky to have Adani care for our girl while we were away. She sent pictures and a video along with feedback about how she was doing. She gave her attention, cuddled with her and let her try some of her dogs food toppers, which Verrin LOVED! She even taught her a new trick! You can tell that Adani loves dogs and has a wealth of knowledge to care for them. We will definitely be using Adani again if she is available when we need a sitter for our girl.”

“Kathy was wonderful! Daily updates via email with pictures really helped put my mind at ease about leaving my babies for the first time. They even got a stocking and a toy on Christmas Day! I will definitely use Kathy again and I highly recommend her to anyone who needs a sitter.”

About: I have created an easy to care for pet home with an all-tile floor, double door entries at all three take-in locations, and have doggy doors that let dogs come and go to the Back Yard to get exercise or take a potty break. I have been caring for four rescue dogs for over six years a dog in my home since 2012. I am currently retired and enjoy caring for my pets and those that visit. aside from caring for the dogs I am pretty much caring for the yard and the home. I have a fenced yard and three senior dogs and one 5-year-old dog, all rescues. Usually, breakfast in the morning roughly 7:00 followed by a walk then dinner at 4:00.

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Punta Gorda
I met Ellen here and inquired with her about watching my sweet girl, Maizy, in her home while we traveled. She responded immediately and we set up a time to meet. She was very easy for both Maizy and I to get along with and her home was clean and practical for her to be pet sitting. We officially booked, and upon dropping Maizy off, we met her husband and their pup, Salty. It was a very pleasant encounter. While away, Ellen kept in touch with updates and photos. After traveling, she and her husband confirmed that Maizy is sweet, well behaved, and was a joy to have around. I will be booking with Ellen again, and would absolutely recommend her as a sitter for your pup too. Thank you, Ellen!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in FL ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
