“Michelle was amazing! Our husky had a lot of anxiety being away from us and she was so patient. She found ways to make him feel at ease and provided daily updates and pics! We would rate her a 10 if we could! We will definitely book her again for our future needs. Thanks so much, Michelle!”

“Having to leave our dog over the holidays is never fun but Jenn sent pictures and updates daily. We had no doubt Velma was living her best life with Jenn and Rosie — way more fun than flying from place to place.”

About: I’ve been a pet sitter since I was 10 years old, caring for cats, dogs, birds, and rabbits of all ages. Experience with puppies and senior animals, and the extra care that requires. Available for overnights, daytime visits, and even bath time. I currently work full time but I am available in the evenings to love on your furry family member. I love taking dogs for walks or playing fetch. I have a crate to keep your pup comfortable in my home, plus a dog, cat, and two affectionate teenagers. If visiting a client’s home, I will love on the fur baby and make sure it has plenty of food, water, treats, and playtime.

“What an awesome family that took in our pup just like he was theirs. We got sweet pictures and our pup was so happy when we picked him up. It was obvious that he had made a new pal with their dog, who was the most patient and gentle dog despite our high energy nippy puppy. We definitely forgot a few things at their place, but it's for the better because we will absolutely be using them again!”

“As first time dog parents we were anxious with leaving our one year old labradane, Coal, for the first time while we went on vacation for a week. All our fears were put to rest when we booked with Erica! She was very knowledgeable and extremely helpful when it came to Coal! We did not have any worries while we were gone because we knew he was in good hands! Had a meet up first before booking to see if he was a great fit with her, and she gave him loves just like we would! Will be booking with her again for boarding and for training! 100% would recommend!”

“Mariel was fantastic. We knew our Minnie was in good hands. We received daily pictures and updates showing us how quickly Minnie settled in to her routine at their house. We knew she was being showered with love while we were away. Awesome experience! We would highly recommend Mariel as a pet sitter.”

“Ada was an amazing sitter, she was a delight and she made me feel assured that my dog would be well cared for while I was away. She provided reports that put my mind at ease and showed me that Annie was enjoying her visit.”

“Kimberly was amazing!!! She took such great care of my little Deja. Throughout the sitting, she was such a great communicator. She provided daily updates and photos. I would definitely recommend Kimberly as a sitter!!!”

“My dog had a great stay with Jessica! She closely follows care instructions and spends time catering to the dog's needs. She also sent pics and updates throughout the stay which is much appreciated. I would definitely recommend her and will book with her again!”

“Jamie was an incredible sitter! She handled all my dog’s quirks well and both her, her family, and all her critters made my pup feel right at home. I wouldn’t hesitate to book her again for future trips.”

“My dog did great with Jessica! This was my first time leaving my dog, Papas, for an extended period, 9 days while I was out of town. He had been to a boarding facility for a day, up to 3-4 days at a time. He is small, 12 lbs, but being with too many other dogs gives him anxiety, especially if they have a lot of energy and are in his face a lot. He would prefer to be with larger dogs, but with traditional boarding there are so many dogs that the commotion just gives him anxiety and he stays by himself a lot. I didn’t have the heart to send him there for this trip away, so I figured with Rover, a more controlled environment - with humans who could give him proper attention, and just a few other dogs would be a more positive environment. My dog loved Jessica and wagged his tail right on up to her right away. Her daughter was sweet and gentle with him as well. I received pictures regularly and never felt the need to check in. I felt he was taken care of and having a good time, as was evident when I picked him up and he was exhausted! I will definitely reach out to Jessica again next time I need Papas to be taken care of and know he is in good hands.”

“Cortney was fantastic with our dog. She provided feedback and a photo daily, she made sure there were lots of walks and time outside, and she let us know how our dog was eating and sleeping. I would absolutely have Cortney host our dog again. Our dog was torn when we got back to pick her up because she loved being there with Cortney and her family— she wasn’t sure she wanted to come home! Definite 5 stars!!”

“My 1st time using Rover and couldn’t be any happier! Celina took such good care of my dog that he didn’t even need his anxiety medicine. She sent me pictures and kept me updated on what my dog was doing. I would 100% book her again! Your fur babies are safe in her hands!”

“Thank you, Cindy! My husband and I appreciate the photos and updates I received from you while Leila was boarding with you for a week! Will definitely rebook when needed!”

“Very attentive with photos and updates! I was hesitant as this was my first time using Rover, but Kalyn put all my worries to bed, and even let me bring Ayla for an informal meet and greet with her dogs prior to Ayla's care there. Kayla was a dream to correspond with, and a wonderful caregiver! 10+++ stars.”

“Veronica did an excellent job watching our older dog while we went away for a long weekend. She let us do a meet and greet first and she was so kind and patient as I explained dog care needs. We are taking our dog back next week and are confident Veronica will provide excellent care once again.”

“I truly felt comfortable leaving my little boy with Candace and I appreciate her keeping him a few hours longer than planned. The next time I need a sitter, I'll definitely check with Candace first.”

“I highly recommend Krysta and Alex for dog sitting services! They took excellent care of our dog, providing a fenced-in yard where he could run and play freely. Our dog also enjoyed the company of their friendly dogs, which was a huge plus. We loved the daily updates and pictures, which reassured us that he was happy and well-cared for. They went above and beyond, and we couldn’t be more grateful for their care!”

“A wonderful experience! With this being our first time away from our Oshie, we were nervous but Jona made us feel comfortable from the start. She kept us posted about Oshie’s adventures. Sending lots of pictures which we all loved. Oshie was all smiles when we picked him up. Would definitely use Jona again!!”

We had a great experience with Michael and Alaina and would absolutely book with them again! They have a beautiful, spacious home with a large fenced yard that gave our dogs plenty of room to run around and play. One of the highlights was that our dogs became great friends with their dog, Deji. They had so much fun playing together, and it was clear from the updates that everyone was getting along wonderfully. We also really appreciated the daily photos and videos they sent. Seeing our dogs happy, relaxed, and having a great time gave us so much peace of mind while we were away. It was reassuring to know they were safe, well cared for, and treated like part of the family. We highly recommend them to anyone looking for a caring, reliable sitter!
Michelle and her family took really great care of our Fiona! She definitely enjoyed her time there especially with the kids! Michelle provided photos and updates on Fiona’s seven day boarding and was super easy to reach to for any questions we may have. Thank you Michelle and family for giving our Fiona the extra love, care, and attention while we were away ❤️

We left our dog, Peaches, with Eileen for two weeks while we were on vacation, and we couldn’t have been happier with the care she provided. Eileen was incredibly loving, attentive, and treated Peaches as if she were her own. Throughout our trip, she was very responsive and kept us updated, which gave us great peace of mind. It was clear that she genuinely loves animals and enjoys caring for them. We came home to a happy, well-cared-for dog, and we would highly recommend Eileen to anyone looking for a trustworthy and caring pet sitter. Thank you, Eileen, for taking such wonderful care of Peaches! 🐾❤️

What a relief that I found Nancy! I knew from the moment we met that she genuinely loves and cares about dogs!! She took great care of our little guy, sent multiple pictures daily during his stay, and made everything so easy. We found a winner and will absolutely seek her out again!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in VA ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
