“Ana is an exceptional dog sitter. She treated my pup with so much care, kept his routine, and sent frequent updates with photos and notes throughout the stay. He came home happy and relaxed, and I felt completely at ease the entire time. Five stars—would absolutely book again!”
“Grant and Yunrui were outstanding caring for our dog for over 10 days. They were kind, responsive, responsible, and flexible. Our dog, who can be challenging in that she does not like other dogs and is skeptical of strangers, quickly warmed up to Grant and Yunrui. They kindly cared for our dog, walking her several times a day, playing with her often, and even helping to settle her stomach and otherwise calming her. 10/10 rating for them! Will be using them again for our dog (13 years old Austrian Cattle Dog Mix). Look no further if you want the best care for your pet!”

“Jim took care of our dog Maggie for a weekend while we were away. He made sure to keep us up to date throughout the weekend with lots of photos and updates on how she was doing. We would definitely rebook with Jim again!”

About: Experienced dog sitter who raised and trained five puppies, provides senior and special-needs care including insulin administration, with therapy dog training and genuine love for dogs. I’m home throughout the day and evening, allowing me to provide consistent care, scheduled feedings, regular potty breaks, and plenty of attention. Dogs are let outside in my fenced backyard every 1–2 hours. Pets in my care have a safe, comfortable, and supervised environment with a designated indoor dog area, toys, dog beds, and crates if needed. My fenced backyard has extra-tall fencing for dogs who are jumpers, allowing safe outdoor play and frequent potty breaks.
“Chelsea was wonderful with our senior dog, Nina. She sent lots of high quality photos and frequent updates. I could tell Nina was comfortable and had a great time. Highly recommend!!”

“Rosalina and her family are incredible. Roscoe was well cared for and so happy. Rosalina sent me pictures throughout the stay and she even bathed Roscoe before I picked him up because he got dirty playing outside. Highly recommend (and I am a very nervous dog mom).”

“David and his family were the perfect stay for Peach. They treated peach as their own dog and had her feel at home. They were very responsive and sent a lot of pictures l. Highly recommend. Definitely will use them again!”

“Sarah has been such a great sitter to our super energetic and playful dog, Tex. She is patient and kind and always sends us updates which gives us peace of mind while we’re away. Thanks for being so wonderful to our dog, Sarah!”

“Yolismal and her family are friendly and welcoming. They were easy to work with, responded promptly to all my texts, and sent regular photo updates. They followed my feeding instructions, even though they are a little complicated. Most importantly, they gave my dog Gretel lots of love. Gretel is an anxious dog, but I could tell from her body language in the photos that they put her at ease. When I picked her up, she was calm and happy - and that made me happy.”

“Jona is an absolute gem! I had to leave town last-minute for work, and she took in my pup with such kindness, patience, and care. She kept me updated regularly with photos, thoughtful messages, and insights about how he was doing, which gave me so much peace of mind while I was away. She went above and beyond in every way. I was in a rush the day I dropped him off (and my little monster decided to snatch his leash right before we left), so I had to leave him without one. Jona didn’t miss a beat - she provided a sturdy leash and handled everything so calmly and generously. That kind of support meant a lot to me. She treated him like family; taking him on walks, helping reinforce his training, and making sure he stayed comfortable in the summer heat. You can tell she truly loves what she does. Her home is a safe, caring space, and I couldn’t have asked for a better sitter. If you're looking for someone who will treat your fur baby with real love and attention, Jona is the one. I’ll definitely be reaching out to her again in the future!”

“I couldn’t be happier with the care my dog received! Taylor was attentive, reliable, and clearly has a genuine love for animals. My dog came home happy, relaxed, and well-exercised. I really appreciated the regular updates and photos—it gave me peace of mind while I was away. I highly recommend!”

“I can not speak highly enough! Amazing communication, beautiful photos and videos, excellent care and service. Our loved pets had an amazingly good time! Thank you!!!”

“Lilly and her family took our Yellow Lab in like one of her family members. The daily photos were reassuring that our puppy was being well taken care of. We'd give 6 stars if we could!”

“My dog Axl had an amazing stay with Jenn! Having just moved to the area we needed to find a reliable and trustworthy sitter and it’s safe to say we found just that. Jenn is quick to respond, provided daily updates and gave Axl a safe and fun place to be while we were away. We will definitely be using her in the future!”

“Stephanie was very responsive and receptive to a meet and greet before booking. I was nervous, as our dog was still recovering from surgery, but at the meet and greet, Stephanie made me feel very comfortable and was very accommodating to Sasha. She was very open to our weird schedules for drop off and pick up. We will definitely book her again!”
“After the debacle of our last Rover sitter, we were super nervous to find a good fit with a new sitter. Alex and Eddie took this challenge and ran with it. Apollo, our 7.5 month old, 85 pound GSD/Malinois puppy with severe attachment anxiety did amazing with him. At drop off we were shown the inside of the house, and saw the backyard. After drop-off, we got numerous photos throughout the day, were shown Apollo was eating the food we sent, him outside wandering in their fenced in backyard smelling the Black Eyed Susans, and generally having an excellent time. His sleepover went extremely well. WE will be happy to have Apollo stay there again soon.”

“Stacy and her family are the best! Our slightly nervous dog is clearly comfortable with them, which means so much. They were great when she got scared during recent thunderstorm, and we appreciate the consistent updates. Thank you!”

About: I have cared for all different breeds and sizes of dogs over the years. I grew up with large and small dogs and have pet sit for coworkers with large dogs, cats, bunnies, etc. I recently lost my soul dog to hemangiosarcoma and want to make a difference for other dogs and provide the care they need. I just do not have it in my heart to remove her from my profile just yet. My girl had special needs such as leash/barrier reactivity, aggression, and a bite history prior to adopting her. I am comfortable working with dogs with those needs as well. She had taken several medications over the years and I am comfortable giving pet meds. I am currently working full time Monday through Friday, I am usually available on weekends. I would also be willing to board dogs during the days that I work as I don’t work too far from home. I have a fenced back yard to play in and an XXL crate or a dog bed for dogs who require those sleeping arrangements. I am a dogs on furniture household for those who like to sleep on the couch.
The median cost per night for pet boarding in Woodbridge is €50

Erin was absolutely wonderful with Archie and Toby! 🐾❤️ From the moment we dropped them off, we felt completely comfortable knowing they were in such caring and capable hands. She took great care of both of them, gave them plenty of love and attention, and kept us updated throughout their stay. It was especially reassuring knowing that Toby, who loves cuddles and being close to people, and Archie, who has his own routine, were both comfortable and well cared for. Erin was kind, responsive, reliable, and genuinely treated our dogs like her own. We couldn’t have asked for a better sitter and would absolutely trust her with Archie and Toby again. Highly recommend Erin to anyone looking for someone who will take exceptional care of their pets! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Veronica was great with our dog. It was most important to us that she only took a single client at a time. She has two small dogs as well who get along very well with other dogs, including ours. She was very responsive and engaged and sent us daily updates and pictures, which was reassuring to us while we were on vacation.

Ayla took good care of Zellah while I was on vacation! Her cat and my cat were a bit shy towards each other at first, but my cat loved being around other cats so she was quite entertained while I was away. Ayla ensured to keep me updated, send pictures , and allowed a last minute extension . The next time i go on a trip i will definitely be rebooking !!!! Great service🖤

We left our dog, Peaches, with Eileen for two weeks while we were on vacation, and we couldn’t have been happier with the care she provided. Eileen was incredibly loving, attentive, and treated Peaches as if she were her own. Throughout our trip, she was very responsive and kept us updated, which gave us great peace of mind. It was clear that she genuinely loves animals and enjoys caring for them. We came home to a happy, well-cared-for dog, and we would highly recommend Eileen to anyone looking for a trustworthy and caring pet sitter. Thank you, Eileen, for taking such wonderful care of Peaches! 🐾❤️

This was my first time using Rover while going out of town and Melissa did an amazing job making sure I was comfortable from the meet and greet prior and all the updates/ pictures throughout the day. I would recommend her to anyone looking for good care for your furry friend :)

MC is THE BEST! I have a senior dog and I know that MC is experienced with senior dogs and every picture I get shows me that Jezabel is so calm and relaxed. She was super flexible with me in accommodating some additional days that I had requested before the original booking. Also, she lives in a place with lots of grass and little hills for doggies to climb. MC is my go-to sitter for my sweet girl, and I highly recommend using her to care for your baby.

Jessica was absolutely amazing and incredibly attentive with our dog, Duke. Since we’ve only ever been away from him once before, we were a bit nervous, but she made the entire experience stress-free and reassuring. It was clear from the start that Duke was in great hands. She provided thoughtful care, stayed attentive to his needs, and gave us real peace of mind while we were away. We truly appreciate the level of care and attention she gave our pup. We highly recommend Jessica to anyone looking for someone trustworthy, caring, and reliable. Thank you again for taking such great care of Duke!

Theodora was a last minute lifesaver for me as I had a last minute work trip and needed a sitter. She was friendly and professional and took the time to understand my pup’s care. She is also the most communicative sitter I’ve had as I received daily messages and photos of him. Highly recommend her!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in VA ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
