“We were very pleased with the service provided to our baby…this was our first experience so I was a bit nervous, but Vronnie arranged a meet and greet and was very loving in her disposition. She had a schedule and plan that worked well with our needs. She’s in a beautiful community that is also dog friendly…we received daily photos which made things easier as well…I’d highly recommend Vronnie!”

“I just had my dogs at her house for this weekend. She was amazing. She picked up my dogs from my house and even dropped them off for me. She is very flexible and will work with you. She sent me pictures throughout the day without even me having to ask, which shows that she really cares. They were able to play outside in her yard with the other pups and she made my pups feel like they were home away from home. I highly recommend her, you will not regret it!! Look no further, Vanessa is your girl!!”

“Saroj was a wonderful and attentive sitter. She made sure that jampa was happy and comfortable at all times. she absolutely fell in love with Kaya, her beautiful Havanese pup. Saroj sent me daily photos and always responded to my questions. I am definitely returning!”

About: I’ve spent years caring for all kinds of pets—from shy seniors to high-energy pups—and I really take the time to get to know what each one needs to feel happy and comfortable. I’m super patient, and I love finding the little things that make each pet light up, whether that’s a favorite toy or a quiet cuddle. My goal is to make your pet feel safe, loved, and totally at home while you’re away. Pet care is already a big part of my everyday routine. I plan my schedule around feeding times, walks, play sessions, and check-ins, so giving pets consistent care fits really smoothly into my day. Whether it’s morning walks, midday drop-ins, or evening chill time, I make sure each pet gets the attention and structure they’re used to. Even on busy weeks, I carve out dedicated time so every animal I’m caring for gets patience, affection, and a routine that feels familiar to them. I listen to you. In my home, I keep pets on their usual routine and make sure they feel comfortable, safe, and loved. If I’m at a client’s home, I follow their rules and their pet’s normal schedule so everything feels familiar.
“Grant and Yunrui are a lifesaver! They handled my elderly dog with care and detail, even taking time for special medication/feeding routines. It is obvious they truly care about animals and go above and beyond. HIGHLY RECOMMEND.”

“Carlos is the best! He sent so many pictures of Sophie having fun I wasn’t sure if she would want to come home! She even ate every meal with no problem and that is unusual for her. Thank you so much Carlos for taking such good care of my Sophie.🐶😊”

“My dog did great with Jessica! This was my first time leaving my dog, Papas, for an extended period, 9 days while I was out of town. He had been to a boarding facility for a day, up to 3-4 days at a time. He is small, 12 lbs, but being with too many other dogs gives him anxiety, especially if they have a lot of energy and are in his face a lot. He would prefer to be with larger dogs, but with traditional boarding there are so many dogs that the commotion just gives him anxiety and he stays by himself a lot. I didn’t have the heart to send him there for this trip away, so I figured with Rover, a more controlled environment - with humans who could give him proper attention, and just a few other dogs would be a more positive environment. My dog loved Jessica and wagged his tail right on up to her right away. Her daughter was sweet and gentle with him as well. I received pictures regularly and never felt the need to check in. I felt he was taken care of and having a good time, as was evident when I picked him up and he was exhausted! I will definitely reach out to Jessica again next time I need Papas to be taken care of and know he is in good hands.”

“My dog had a great stay with Jessica! She closely follows care instructions and spends time catering to the dog's needs. She also sent pics and updates throughout the stay which is much appreciated. I would definitely recommend her and will book with her again!”

“Emmanuel is amazing with my puppy! She was such at ease with him and his family! I was kept up-to-date on her days and nights that they spent together. Emmanuel is very observant, caring, and communicative! He brought out her playful side, and I loved the sweet videos and pictures he sent. We will absolutely use him again!”

“Marcela and her family took great care of my two cats and one dog while I was away for nearly 10 days. She sent me updates each day and I can tell my pets bonded with her and were very comfortable. Great communication and ease of drop off + pick up. 10/10 would book her again!”

“The boarding went very smoothly! Communication was excellent throughout the entire process, and even with my late drop-off (completely my fault), everything was handled with patience and professionalism. I felt confident my two little rascals were in great hands!”

“Our pup, Bella, enjoyed her stay with Kalyn and it was great to know she was cared for well. From the meet and greet to drop off and pick up, Kalyn made the process easy and we could enjoy our trip without any worries about Bella. I would not hesitate to use Kalyn again for watching our precious pup.”

Ana was very sweet. It was my dog's first time with her and she had a great time. Ana let Godiva take her time to warm up to her and feel comfortable, she took her on walks, and also let her play with her pup. Ana was very communicatove and sent me photos, My dog enjoyed her stay! I will definitely be using Ana again.

Michelle and her family took really great care of our Fiona! She definitely enjoyed her time there especially with the kids! Michelle provided photos and updates on Fiona’s seven day boarding and was super easy to reach to for any questions we may have. Thank you Michelle and family for giving our Fiona the extra love, care, and attention while we were away ❤️

Bryant and the family were outstanding. They took such great care of my fur baby Chance. They gave constant updates and videos of their interactions and having fun with the doggie! They were by far my he best caregivers we have ever had using Rover. I definitely recommend them and hopefully they will be available for the next time. Thanks again for taking such good care of Chance!!!

We left our dog, Peaches, with Eileen for two weeks while we were on vacation, and we couldn’t have been happier with the care she provided. Eileen was incredibly loving, attentive, and treated Peaches as if she were her own. Throughout our trip, she was very responsive and kept us updated, which gave us great peace of mind. It was clear that she genuinely loves animals and enjoys caring for them. We came home to a happy, well-cared-for dog, and we would highly recommend Eileen to anyone looking for a trustworthy and caring pet sitter. Thank you, Eileen, for taking such wonderful care of Peaches! 🐾❤️

What a relief that I found Nancy! I knew from the moment we met that she genuinely loves and cares about dogs!! She took great care of our little guy, sent multiple pictures daily during his stay, and made everything so easy. We found a winner and will absolutely seek her out again!

Jessica was amazing with my senior English Bulldog. I went away for a holiday for my best friend’s wedding. I was a little nervous about leaving Desi, as he can be reactive so we scheduled a meet up beforehand. This gave me some peace of mind when Desi made himself right at home. Jessica was great about sending updates throughout my trip and was able to easily manage Desi’s supplements and high maintenance behavior.

Emmanuel is amazing with my puppy! She was such at ease with him and his family! I was kept up-to-date on her days and nights that they spent together. Emmanuel is very observant, caring, and communicative! He brought out her playful side, and I loved the sweet videos and pictures he sent. We will absolutely use him again!

This was my first time using Rover while going out of town and Melissa did an amazing job making sure I was comfortable from the meet and greet prior and all the updates/ pictures throughout the day. I would recommend her to anyone looking for good care for your furry friend :)

Theodora was a last minute lifesaver for me as I had a last minute work trip and needed a sitter. She was friendly and professional and took the time to understand my pup’s care. She is also the most communicative sitter I’ve had as I received daily messages and photos of him. Highly recommend her!

Mike & his wife were fantastic sitters for Charlie! They were happy to schedule a meet-&-greet beforehand between their dog (Deji) & Charlie at a nearby park and were super easy to talk to about care instructions. They went above and beyond with taking Charlie on nature adventures and didn't miss a beat with sharing frequent picture/video updates of Charlie. I was confident they took great care of Charlie and I wouldn't hesitate to book with them again in the future.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in VA ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
