“I highly recommend Sabine. She is very communicative and sends lots of photos. My little Brandy enjoys spending time with her and Sabine's little dogs who are well mannered. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️”

“This was my first time booking with Amber for boarding and she was amazing! Throughout the stay I received multiple pictures and quick responses. I had a delayed flight and she was very flexible and understanding about the situation. Thank you for hosting my dog and treating him like family!”

“This is the second time we’ve used Brenda and it was just as wonderful as the first time. Our dog is really happy there and Brenda is so sweet and trustworthy. She’s the only person we will be using to watch our dog!”

“From the first inquiry to pick up, Julie made me feel so comfortable. This was my first time boarding any pet so I was incredibly nervous and she eased all of my fears. The photos, videos and text updates made my day and we will absolutely be using her again for an upcoming vacation. Thank you, Julie!”

“Thank you so much for taking care of my sweet baby! You provided daily updates and I could tell my sweet Piper was living her best life. I can’t wait to plan my next trip and when I do you will be my preferred pet sitter.”

“Just perfect. Michelle has a lovely home with a nice park and lake area in the backyard for the dogs to enjoy. Very safe area well away from roads. Michelle communicated very well, sent photos and updates, and was completely flexible with drop off and pickup times. Someone was home with my pup all the time and Zoey really seemed to love her stay with Michelle. Highly recommended.”

About: I’ve been a pet sitter since I was 10 years old, caring for cats, dogs, birds, and rabbits of all ages. Experience with puppies and senior animals, and the extra care that requires. Available for overnights, daytime visits, and even bath time. I currently work full time but I am available in the evenings to love on your furry family member. I love taking dogs for walks or playing fetch. I have a crate to keep your pup comfortable in my home, plus a dog, cat, and two affectionate teenagers. If visiting a client’s home, I will love on the fur baby and make sure it has plenty of food, water, treats, and playtime.
“Megha & Irene were great sitters. Treated Winston like a member of the family. They were very welcoming during the meet & greet and communicative during the stay and I could tell Winston really enjoyed himself by the pictures and when I picked him up.”

“Abby and her family were wonderful care givers of our elderly pets. Our buddies were in their care for more than a week and I can tell they were able to stick to the feeding routine. Our pets comeback in good shape. Thanks Abby and family!”

“Stephanie was wonderful! Took care of my dog and kept me updated with pictures throughout her stay. She looked happy and well taken care of the entire time! Would definitely book with Stephanie again”

“Candace was fantastic! Frankie loved it over there. He got along really well with her dog, Tyson. He was worn out when we came back from all the running around they did in the backyard. Her family is very kind and her kids loved Frankie too. Can’t recommend enough. Will be looking to book w/ Candace again next time we need an overnight sitter for Frankie.”

“Cheryl and Gustavo are amazing and I wouldn’t want to leave my pup with anyone else. He’s so happy in all the photos over the week and I’m happy to see he’s had some nice walks and playtime with other dogs. They are super flexible and communicative. I’m really appreciative of the care they give and allowing me to be stress free when I have to travel.”

“Morgan was very communicative and flexible, willing to accommodate my schedule at the last minute as well as Buddy's reserved nature. He sent updates to let me know how Buddy was doing, which I really appreciated. I'll definitely be reaching out to him on the future!”

“We could not have asked for a better experience with Jona! She recently cared for our two 4-year-old pugs, Ozzy and Otis, and it was truly the best pet-sitting experience we’ve ever had. From start to finish, Jona went above and beyond. She kept us updated frequently with messages and pictures, which gave us complete peace of mind while we were away. It was clear from every update that our pugs were not only being well cared for, but also genuinely loved. Both Ozzy and Otis can be a handful at times, but Jona handled everything with patience, kindness, and professionalism. Coming home, we were greeted by two very happy, relaxed pugs—which says everything you need to know. Jona treated them as if they were her own, and that level of care means the world to us. We wholeheartedly recommend Jona to anyone looking for a trustworthy, attentive, and compassionate sitter. She has set the standard so high that we can’t imagine trusting anyone else with our boys!”

“Anthony took great care of our 3 fur babies and kept us updated each day with check ins and pictures. He even took the time and initiative to make fresh chicken and rice for our old gal who sometimes doesn’t feel like eating. He accommodated our drop off and pick up times as well without complaint which was so nice. He has a great set up for his “guests”. We are so happy and appreciative of his service and to know we have a safe and friendly option for the “kids” when we are gone. Highly recommend!!”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Quantico
I’m so grateful for the amazing care my dog received. They took such wonderful care of him and kept me updated with photos, which gave me so much peace of mind. It’s clear how much love and attention they give to the pets they care for. I was absolutely delighted with the experience and would trust them again without hesitation. Thank you for treating my furry baby like family!

Lei was absolutely AMAZING! She came to our home to meet our dogs, learn their routines and quirks, and connect on expectations. She had great questions that made me feel confident in her attention and commitment to caring for our dogs. Both pups came home so relaxed and ready for naps, which we appreciated after a long travel day. Lei provided a few updates while we were gone as well; which was appreciated. I cannot recommend a better sitter in the area, she will absolutely treat your pets like her own.

When the dog sitters are sad when you pick up your dog, you know your have the best sitters ever. Noelle was truly part of the family; on the couch, the children played and laid on her and Noelle protected the Elcy. I am soo happy with Elcy and family. Thank you!!!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in VA ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
