“Julie is so amazing! She keeps you informed daily with pics and updates. My dog Mack really seemed to enjoy his week long stay. I highly recommend her!! Thanks Julie for taking such excellent care of my boy!”

“Our dogs stayed with Heather for a long weekend and came home happy, relaxed, playful and very content. Heather has a wonderful yard for the dogs to play. She is also extremely aware and in tune with dog behavior, training, habits and rewards. I was very impressed with her handling of the unique quirks and personalities of our two dogs. Thanks Heather!!!”

“Vanessa was great. She took great of Chester and kept us updated all the time with photos and text messages. I would definitely use her services again. She’s the best!”

“Eldeen and her family are such wonderful pet people. Recently, I extended my vacation (an additional day) but forgot to update the time in Rover. Eldeen and her family were so understanding and allowed Mimi to stay an additional day as well. I am so happy I found someplace to send Mimi where she's happy and so am I. Great family!”

“Garrett and Ana were great! We had a meet and greet and all the family came to meet Pepper and Chili. They were very flexible and understanding as I had to modify my booking because one of my fur babies passed a couple of days before the scheduled boarding. They sent pictures and updates of Pepper every day and she came back home happy 😊”

“Linda and her family were great! I loved that she sent videos and pictures throughout the day. My Yorkie, Titan, was very happy and well taken care of during his stay. I would highly recommend using Linda and look forward to using her again in the future.”

“Ana was absolutely wonderful with our dog, Bella! From the moment we met her, it was clear how much she genuinely loves and understands animals. She took extra time to make sure Bella was comfortable, happy, and well cared for. Ana sent regular updates and photos, which really put our minds at ease while we were away. Bella can be a little shy at first, but Ana’s gentle and patient approach won her over right away. We came home to a very relaxed and happy pup — it was obvious she had been loved and cared for as if she were Ana’s own. We couldn’t have asked for a better experience. Thank you, Ana, for taking such special care of Bella! We’ll definitely be booking with you again. 🐾”

“Jamie was an incredible sitter! She handled all my dog’s quirks well and both her, her family, and all her critters made my pup feel right at home. I wouldn’t hesitate to book her again for future trips.”

“I had a wonderful experience and highly recommend this dog sitter! They took excellent care of my dog for two days and kept me updated the entire time with messages and photos, which gave me so much peace of mind. It was clear that my dog was well cared for, happy, and comfortable while I was away. I truly appreciated the great communication, reliability, and genuine care they provided. I wouldn’t hesitate to book with them again. Thank you for taking such great care of my furry family member!”

“My boys love staying with Marcela and she’s the only person I trust to take care of them. She works to address their individual needs and keep me posted on how they’re doing so I don’t have to be concerned while out of town.”

“David and his family did a great job with our puppy, Dobby. In fact I would say that we got Dobby back better trained and socialized than when he was dropped off for 2 weeks. Thanks for all the attention.”

“I can’t say enough great things about Carlos! Caring, communicative, responsible, responsive! He was attentive to our older dog’s special needs and took the time to send so many wonderful photos and videos as well as detailed updates. We will definitely book Carlos again. He is a top notch sitter and recommend without any reservations.”

“Absolutely wonderful dog sitter and caregiver! Kathleen (Katie) has been my go-to dog boarder for over 15 years, and I was thrilled when she joined Rover so more people could find her. She recently watched my dog for me, and it was just as fantastic as always. From the very first day we met, I knew my pups were in the best hands. Katie truly loves dogs and it shows in everything she does. When we adopted our puppy a while back, Katie was incredibly helpful — offering advice, extra patience, and gentle guidance as we all adjusted to life with a new little one. She has such a calming presence with dogs of all ages and personalities. My dog always comes home happy, well-exercised, and clearly well-loved. If you’re looking for someone who treats your dog like their own, look no further. Katie is professional, communicative, trustworthy, and genuinely passionate about what she does. I recommend her without hesitation — she’s the real deal! Thank you, Katie, for always taking such great care of my furry family members. ❤️”

“Jona was very easy to work with and took amazing care of our best friend! We felt comfortable knowing Phoebe was in great hands. At our meet and greet, it took Phoebe less than a minute before she was curled up next to Jona asking for a belly rub. During Phoebe's stay, Jona kept us updated throughout the day letting us know Phoebe was happy and well cared for. Phoebe followed Jona around the house and to bed each night - proving how quickly they bonded. Phoebe takes medication twice a day and that was no problem for Jona. Phoebe requires a lot of attention and love and Jona gave her that and more. We will absolutely plan to book again with Jona. I am very happy and Phoebe was so happy!”

“My pup’s stay with Cindy was absolutely wonderful! Cindy was communicative, flexible, sent frequent updates and pictures, AND provided special care for my special needs girl. She and her husband are kind, friendly people who clearly love dogs. I can’t thank them enough and would recommend to anybody!”
“Ashley and her family took great care of our cat MJ! The pictures Ashley sent of MJ having fun makes us smile and laugh. We have to ask ourselves, “is that our cat?” because MJ is so comfortable and out going with Ashley and her family. Ashley - thank you for the great care you give to MJ!”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Quantico
Imbasat took care of our cat Pudding from 7-8-2026 to 7-24-2026. The experience of having Imbasat take care of Pudding was above and beyond excellent. Pudding formed part of her family including her husband and two young children that took care of Pudding as if it were their own pet. Imbasat was so sensitive about the feelings of separation of our young daughter from Pudding that she sent daily pictures and videos of Pudding that eased the separation pain of our 8 year old daughter. The personal and dedicated care provided by Imbasat is unique in that Pudding was allowed to roam freely throughout her home with interactive play with Imbasat, her husband and children compared with what is available in the market since typical cat hotels hold the cat in a cage with typical dimensions 2'x2'x3'. Overall I was extremely happy with Imbasat's care of Pudding and would definitely repeat having her take care of Pudding in a future trip.
When the dog sitters are sad when you pick up your dog, you know your have the best sitters ever. Noelle was truly part of the family; on the couch, the children played and laid on her and Noelle protected the Elcy. I am soo happy with Elcy and family. Thank you!!!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in VA ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
