“David was very responsive during the booking process, and kept us very well-informed about our pup's stay with him with lots of pictures and messages. I would definitely book with him again.”

“Jim was excellent with my pups and I can tell they really enjoyed staying with him. I stayed updated with how they were doing as he sent me photos of them multiple times a day. I will definitely be back and would recommend him to all my friends.”

“This was the absolute best experience with Nick and Yiqiuxi. The communication was daily with pictures. In each picture my puppy looked so happy and comfortable. They will definitely be his home away from home when I need to go out of town. I cant say Thank You enough!!”

“Our pups spent a whole week with Veronica and when we picked them up... They were relaxed, happy and thrilled to see us. And dare I say they smelled like they had baths? This trip was so much better than when we have to leave them at the petHotel, where they come home a little shell shocked.”
“Just perfect. Michelle has a lovely home with a nice park and lake area in the backyard for the dogs to enjoy. Very safe area well away from roads. Michelle communicated very well, sent photos and updates, and was completely flexible with drop off and pickup times. Someone was home with my pup all the time and Zoey really seemed to love her stay with Michelle. Highly recommended.”

“We thought we were going on vacation - nope, our dogs had the vacation of their lives!!! They love Mary and she clearly loves animals. Our beagle actually moped on the ride home 😂🤣”
“Kelly is the best! She's great to work with in terms of communication and getting all the medications and taking great pictures. Additionally, the doggos love her and they get so much activity! It feels great knowing they're having a good time!”

“Vronnie was super nice and she sent me pictures daily and updated me about Tico , her place was very clean and she took Tico daily for walks , Tico was happy and well taken care of when he was away from me .I trust Vronnie and will use her service again when Tico needs a pet sitter. Thank you, Vronnie !”

“Connie is an awesome dog sitter. Super flexible for rapidly changing travel plans, and generous with photos. How cool is it to be able to share videos of your pup with family on vacation. My dog loves the big back yard, loving family, and built in playmates. I love being able to leave her with people I know will love on her as much as if not more than I do. Win-win. ”

“Elizabeth cared for our pup for the first time on our longest period away from her during an international trip. We never had to worry or wonder how she was because of how consistently Elizabeth kept us in the loop. We are so thankful we found her, she took amazing care of our baby!”

“Traci watched our big senior boy for a week previously so when we had another week long trip, we knew Leo would be in good hands with her! Traci is very thoughtful and made sure Leo was comfortable, despite him being anxious being away from his family. She provided lots of updates and photos and we felt happy knowing that Leo was in good hands. Thanks so much, Traci!”
“Amazing sitter who kept in constant contact. Truffles was so happy when I got him, and I could tell that he had an excellent time! I've been with rover for many years and this person is definitely in the top sitter category for me!”

“We are so thankful for Yolismal! I have peace of mind knowing our sweet dog will be well cared for when we have to go out of town. She sends video and pictures, and does a great job caring for our pup!”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Indian Head
Mr. Romero was wonderful. We were in a pinch and nervous about getting a quality dog sitter on short notice, but thankfully Mr. Romero was available. Throughout our dog Dexter’s stay, Jesus was very responsive to my messages, sending photos and videos. He was clear with procedures for drop off and pick up. Dexter was happy to be in the Romero house while we were out of town. We highly recommend!

We love Mickey! He’s trained my dog continually and kept my dog during the weekend to get him more used to other dogs and everything has gone well! We will continue training for life! Mickey is laid back and explains everything sufficiently for my family to use tactics for our dog.

Faith was simply fantastic! She was communicative, thorough, attentive, and assisted at all times before and throughout my dogs stay. She was my first time utilizing rover and having my dog away for an extended stay. He fit right in, appeared at ease, and was up to his normal ways. When I went to pick up my dog, he looked healthy, confident, no fear or anxiety on him whatsoever. That was one of the most telling things that Faith and her family took great care of my dog. I cannot recommend her any higher and I will certainly be requesting her services again. Thanks again for everything Faith!

Dinijah was amazing! She took such great care our my dogs and kept me updated with photos and messages. They absolutely loved her! She took the time to get to know our dogs personalities, routines, and quirks, and I could tell right away that my pup felt comfortable and happy around her. Super reliable and caring, I’ll definitely book again!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in MD ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
