“Ty was very responsive to our requests for updates and the dogs seemed loved and well cared for. Our fish died while we were gone and Ty helped take it out and dispose of it. The house was clean and as we left it upon our return”

“Andrea was extremely friendly and accommodating as a first time Rover user, and she took great care of my 3 cats. She was awesome with communication throughout the time she was house sitting, and sent me pictures/updates regularly. I’ll definitely be asking her to watch the boys again soon!”

“Will took amazing care of our pup, Finley, over the holiday weekend and made the entire experience completely stress-free. He was communicative, flexible, attentive, and clearly genuine in the way he cared for Finley, treating him with so much love and patience. We really appreciated the consistent updates and coming home to both a happy dog and a clean house. Will went above and beyond in every way, and we would gladly trust him again for any future sitting needs. Thank you once again, Will!”

“Eyowyn took excellent care of our critters while we were away. She followed the directions we left, gave our dog his eye medicine, made sure to give them attention, and gave us updates to let us know all was well. I would book Eyowyn again without hesitation to house sit our dog and cat!”

“I'd recommend Melissa to ANYONE looking for of a kind, professional and trusting Petsitter. ❤️ she took such good care of my fur babies, was very communicative, and sent awesome pictures/recurring updates. I loved coming home to happy puppies that clearly looked like hey had the best time with Melissa. Thank you so much, girl ❤️”

“Angelica did a fabulous job watching my Aussidoddle and my Sheltie. Would highly recommend her for house sitting She watched my babies for a week while we were on vacation and sent us a bunch of pictures.”

“Michael was absolutely amazing with our sweet big boy for 10 days while we were out of town. Our guy has newly started having seizures and while we hoped he wouldn’t have one while we were gone he ended up having 4. Michael was not experienced beforehand with sitting with dogs who have seizures but made sure to ask all the questions before hand to make sure he knew what to do. And thankfully he did. He even ended up giving our guy a rectal suppository after the regular medications were not working sufficiently and stayed with him until we were home to ensure a safe handoff. To top it off he also checked in with us later to see how Moko was doing. We could not recommend him more. Thank you again Michael!”
“McKenna is amazing! She took excellent care of our dog and house. Her communication was on point with updates and pictures. Our dog loves her and we will definitely use her as our regular sitter.”

About: I’ve taken care of so many dogs since i was 12. I use to work for pet care and got cpr training from there too. Im always active, i love walking, lifting, and being on the move for work. Walking dogs and playing with them, that makes me so happy. I will always walk them at their speed and play as much as they want. Making sure they’re safe, and making sure they’re comfortable too.

“Hailey was wonderful with our dog! She is responsible and friendly and kept us informed how he was doing daily with pictures and updates. The house was well cared for when we returned. We would definitely book again with Hailey!”
“Gwendolyn took such good care of our dog while we were on vacation. It was our first time traveling without our dog, Fiona, and Gwendolyn put us at ease with her excellent communication. Highly recommend!”

About: I’ve taken care of dogs for the past few years. I am 32 years old. Neighbors, friends of family, family… walk, feed, sleep over and play. I am a teacher so between the months of July and August I will have availability between Monday-Friday during the day and night at any point of the day. I just recently moved to the area, so I have a lot more freedom up until mid august! I am very active and constantly going on walks and I would love to have your dogs join me! I also would love just popping in to let your dog out or feed them daily if need be!
“Hieu and Anna are wonderful! They responded very promptly and came over for an initial meet and greet, then watched our 3 month goldendoodle while we had a date night. They are super friendly, responsive, and absolutely great with our puppy. We (and Zora) are looking forward to many more future drop in visits!”

“Andrea was absolutely wonderful with my dog, Ivy, while I was away for a family memorial. She kept me updated every day with pictures and messages, took Ivy on walks, helped with her grooming needs, and made sure she was comfortable and cared for. Ivy was so relaxed with her, which gave me total peace of mind. On top of that, Andrea left my home in great condition. I couldn’t have asked for a better sitter truly attentive, kind, and reliable. Highly recommend!”

“I highly recommend Katherine! This was our first time using her services, and she definitely met our expectations. She was extremely communicative, followed our specific care instructions to the letter, and took wonderful care of our cat and dog. In her home visit beforehand, she asked specific questions that showed she was listening and cared about corrective care. When we returned, not only were our animals happy to see us, but they seemed completely at ease - as if we’d never left. The house was just as we left it, and she even took care of thoughtful little details, like refilling the water pitcher we use for their bowls. You really can’t ask for more when trusting someone with your pets.”

“Telma took care of my sweet Hank and treated him as if he was her own. She provided updates and photos and even put hit sweatshirt on him when it was cold out. He had a blast on his walks and she was very quick to Respond and provide updates on Hank. She did a great job and I would strongly recommend her to family and friends. Thank you, Telma!”

Brigette was excellent watching our dog and 3 cats. She stayed with them and they were very happy. She was very responsive before and during the visit and she provided us regular updates on the pets. I would highly recommend Brigette for house and pet sitting anytime.
Excellent dog and house sitter. Pets were calm and well cared for while we were away. Erin communicated with us several times a day and kept us updated on their daily activities. She has a great deal of experience working with pets and catered to their individual needs.

Tiana is the ultimate professional. I almost had to cancel the booking due to unforeseen circumstances. She handled it with understanding, grace, and patience. I’m glad I was able to make alternate plans and keep my booking with her. She was early to everything related to the booking which shows how serious she takes her job. I made a short notice decision to come home early and Tiana responded and adjusted well to that also. She made sure the puppies were taken care of and everything in the house was in order so I can just go straight to bed.

Kelly watched our older dog and cat while we were gone for a week. We came home to two happy and healthy fur balls! As always, Kelly was super communicative the entire time and sent a ton of adorable pictures of them. They love her! Highly recommend booking with her, she leaves you with some happy fur babies! The house was exactly as we left it, she is also extremely respectful of your home and property. She is our go to Rover!

Katherine was great with Zelda, they had a lot of fun. She took very good care of my house, even changed a battery in my smoke detector that was starting to beep. The house was immaculate when I got home, and Zelda was really happy. The communication was really good and I plan to use her again soon!

Frequently asked questions about Rover
The average cost for House Sitting in Lake Ridge on Rover is $43.6 per night (as of July 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.
Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .
As of July 2026, there are 9,554 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Lake Ridge. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Lake Ridge walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Lake Ridge maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Lake Ridge choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
