“I just wanted to take a moment to thank you for taking such great care of Brandi. She’s definitely spoiled, and her irregular eating habits are just part of her missing us—it’s nothing to do with you. Once again, thank you so much for taking care of Brandi. It truly means a lot to me!”

“William was fantastic! He was super responsive, communicative, and immediately put us at ease during our first experience using an overnight sitter. Our dogs can be pretty standoffish with new people, but they took to him right away — which says a lot. Even our cat loved him! It was clear our pets were comfortable, well cared for, and happy while we were away. We’ll absolutely be reaching out to William again in the future”

“Andrea took such amazing care of our elderly dog. Our dog gets anxious, and needed to remain in our home while we were away, to lessen her stress levels. Andrea provided such quality care. Not only did she sent me frequent updates, she reassured me that our dog was doing really well. And she was! We’re truly thankful for Andrea’s wonderful care, and will definitely be booking with her again.”

“Winnie is such a sweet person and loved my dogs. I will use her again and because I am going to be selfish and not want her to be to busy to watch my dogs.... she is wonderful.”

“Melissa was an absolute dream to work with for my two standard poodles! She stayed at my house while I was away, and I couldn’t be happier with the experience. When I came home, the house actually looked better than when I left it — everything was neat, clean, and in perfect order. She sent wonderful photos and updates throughout the trip, which gave me so much peace of mind knowing my pups were happy and well cared for. I came home to happy, relaxed, well-exercised dogs who clearly adored her. This was hands-down the best pet sitting experience I’ve ever had. I will definitely be using Melissa again for future trips! Highly recommend! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐”

“She was great with my 16 year old dog which takes patience and love. My pup sammie seemed so happy when I returned from my trip which filled me with piece of mind. I’ll definitely book in the future.”

“We had a wonderful experience with our dog sitter. She was incredibly responsive and communicative throughout our time away, which gave us real peace of mind. We loved receiving daily photos and updates, and it was clear our dogs were well cared for and comfortable. She also left our home clean and tidy, which we really appreciated. We’re very grateful for her care and would happily book with her again.”

“Natalie took great care of our dog while we were away. I had some concerns leaving our dog with a stranger for the first time because he can be protective of his home. Natalie made the time to come meet our pup at a neutral spot and then headed to the home so he could get use to her in his environment. The meet and greet went well and our dog was excited to see her when she came to stay overnight. Natalie was very quick when returning my texts and calls. She took great care of our pup while we were away and we will use her again in the future.”

“Deborah took such great care of my babies. She sent an update and photos every morning and throughout each day. She was always available if I needed to reach her, and I know that my dog and my car were in the best possible hands. I am so glad that we found her!!”

“Thank you so much Tatiana for watching after Greg! I know he was very shy, but I appreciate the effort you put in to making sure he was doing well. Also, my house may be cleaner now than when I moved in. 😆”

“Angelica did a fabulous job watching my Aussidoddle and my Sheltie. Would highly recommend her for house sitting She watched my babies for a week while we were on vacation and sent us a bunch of pictures.”

About: I’ve taken care of so many dogs since i was 12. I use to work for pet care and got cpr training from there too. Im always active, i love walking, lifting, and being on the move for work. Walking dogs and playing with them, that makes me so happy. I will always walk them at their speed and play as much as they want. Making sure they’re safe, and making sure they’re comfortable too.
“LOVE Tara. My good little boi could NOT be in better hands while I’m away. He even got a little crown, which he surely appreciated , as he knows he is Augie, Prince of the Earthly Chows and Radiant Golden Spacepuppy. Your home and furry family members will be in excellent hands with Tara!”

About: I’ve have experience with large medium and small dogs! I currently have a Shih Tzu mix who is super friendly, of course she lives upstairs, but she does like to say hi to friendly dogs. She is 16 years old and still runs, jumps, plays with toys, gets excited about treats, and it’s pretty much the runner of the household lol. I am a favorite human for most of my friends’ dogs and for some reason tend to bring out their playful nature like no one else can. I have yet to figure this out why- maybe because I’m a Play Therapist? My neighborhood has an awesome cul de sac and is the perfect neighborhood for long walks. All my neighbors are friendly and love pets! My neighborhood is also very safe and quiet so it’s truly a cottage of peace! Please read about my downstairs studio- Coco’s Cottage and make sure your pet is suitable! I work full time, but I’m self employed and can work around my own schedule. I sometimes don’t leave the house until 11 am! Feel free to ask me more! Please make sure to read about Coco’s Cottage below as this is where your pets will be boarded! My pet cottage- Coco’s Cottage- is just for your baby/babies! It’s my downstairs studio, above ground with sliding glass doors that open up to my fenced in backyard and deck! It’s a pretty decent space to run and jump and get some exercise in. Coco’s Cottage is not used by my pets, it’s a sanctuary where pets can come and chill on the couch, the bed, I put on tv or music sometimes to give the space a homey feel for them! I pass between the downstairs and upstairs constantly, making sure all needs and wants are met!

“McKenna did an excellent job with our high-energy Aussie, who can be a bit anxious sometimes. She was super communicative, punctual, and shared lots of photos and updates. This was the first time we left him overnight with someone other than family, and it was great to know he was in good hands with McKenna. She also left our house as clean, if not cleaner, than it was before. Excited to work with her again soon!”

About: I have been around all kinds of cats and dogs. I’ve been petsitting in my neighborhood since the summer of 2019. I am offering overnight services! I am not in season for volleyball and I am on summer break until August 15. I am taking summer classes this summer so I am not available Monday-Thursday 11:30-1:30! I will plan to drop in before and after my classes though! I prefer not to bring any pets into my home. However, I am more comfortable with staying overnight in the owner’s home with the pets!
About: I have experience caring for cats of all ages and dogs from puppies to seniors (small and medium breeds). I’m patient with puppies, attentive to senior needs, and always focused on maintaining routine, safety, and comfort. What sets me apart is my calm energy, reliability, and clear communication. I treat every pet with genuine care and adapt to their unique personality and needs. I currently have availability during evenings and weekends, and I’m committed to giving pets my full attention during that time. Pet care fits naturally into my routine — I plan ahead, maintain structure, and prioritize consistency to ensure every pet receives dependable, attentive care. Safety and comfort are my top priorities. I live in a clean, calm apartment with my two senior cats, so I understand the importance of routine, patience, and gentle care. In my client’s home, I follow all instructions closely and provide regular updates for peace of mind. In my home, pets are supervised, kept in a secure environment, and treated with the same care and respect as my own.
“Zamiya was absolutely outstanding, very communicative and took wonderful care of my fur baby. I will definitely book with her again!!! I never had to wonder how my baby was doing because she kept me updated with pics and videos which I loved because I didn't have to reach out to see how he was doing. I already knew!!”

Natalie took great care of our dog while we were away. She took great care of our pup while we were away and we will use her again in the future.

Brigette was excellent watching our dog and 3 cats. She stayed with them and they were very happy. She was very responsive before and during the visit and she provided us regular updates on the pets. I would highly recommend Brigette for house and pet sitting anytime.
Excellent dog and house sitter. Pets were calm and well cared for while we were away. Erin communicated with us several times a day and kept us updated on their daily activities. She has a great deal of experience working with pets and catered to their individual needs.

Tiana is the ultimate professional. I almost had to cancel the booking due to unforeseen circumstances. She handled it with understanding, grace, and patience. I’m glad I was able to make alternate plans and keep my booking with her. She was early to everything related to the booking which shows how serious she takes her job. I made a short notice decision to come home early and Tiana responded and adjusted well to that also. She made sure the puppies were taken care of and everything in the house was in order so I can just go straight to bed.

Kelly watched our older dog and cat while we were gone for a week. We came home to two happy and healthy fur balls! As always, Kelly was super communicative the entire time and sent a ton of adorable pictures of them. They love her! Highly recommend booking with her, she leaves you with some happy fur babies! The house was exactly as we left it, she is also extremely respectful of your home and property. She is our go to Rover!

Katherine was great with Zelda, they had a lot of fun. She took very good care of my house, even changed a battery in my smoke detector that was starting to beep. The house was immaculate when I got home, and Zelda was really happy. The communication was really good and I plan to use her again soon!

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Lake Ridge walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Lake Ridge maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Lake Ridge choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Lake Ridge. On Rover:
- 92% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 96% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 96% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
