“Hunter has been absolutely amazing with our 12-week-old German Shepherd, Rocky! She’s a sassy puppy with lots of energy, and since Hunter started caring for her, we’ve seen such a positive change. She’s happier, more settled, and even less nippy—which says a lot at this stage! Hunter is patient, attentive, and clearly has a natural connection with dogs. It gives us so much peace of mind knowing Rocky is in such great hands. He keeps us updated and truly goes above and beyond in the care he provides. I can’t recommend Hunter enough. If you’re looking for someone you can trust with your pup, he’s the one. We’ll definitely continue booking with him!”

“Melanie is one of the best sitters we have had watch our doggies. She took the time to meet our dogs beforehand, and she was very respectful of our home. We will absolutely be using her again!”

“We were in a situation where we needed help on short notice and Paul replied quickly and did a great job. Was very thankful for his quick reply and diligence in taking care of our older dog for the day. Was a huge relief!”

About: Always available, any time, and any circumstance! Lived and cared for animals for many years. I'll take care of your babies always and with love! I am in school part-time so I will be available every day of the week including weekends. Unfortunately some days later than others. With advance notice I should be able to help always!! About: I bring a unique blend of experience and genuine passion for dogs, offering personalized care and attention tailored to each pup's personality. With flexible scheduling, daily updates, and a focus on building trust, your dog will feel loved and secure while you're away. I have been raised up with dogs ever since I was a baby. Loving each pet I’ve ever owned with all my heart and wanting them to be everywhere I am at all times. I love each and every dog. Especially with their unique personalities and charm. I have a old dog who has Addison’s disease and have taken care of her ever since diagnosis, so no worries to how old or how sick or even how young, your pet is in trusting hands who will love them as my own and has had many years of experience from pups to grandmas or grandpas. I’m currently working part-time so I’m very available to look after your pets! I have pretty open availability to board on every weekday or weekend. As well as just to babysit while you’re away. I love to exercise and go on walks everyday so it would be perfect to take your animals on walks with me. I would love a little buddy! Being a pet owner for many years my schedule has been made to always accommodate my pets needs as well and that also implies here. I have a fenced yard and two dogs to keep your fur baby company. They are both very friendly around other animals and if you are not comfortable with yours being around other animals, that is totally understandable and I can easily separate them into their own individual spaces. I can crate them as well too if desired or needed. I have a very open backyard so lots of space to run around. As far as service in your home, I make sure to keep it how I walked into the space by meeting the dog or cat’s needs and cleaning up any messes they may have left. Following step by step instructions of how the pet owner would like the service done for their fur babies!
About: I am extremely passionate about animals. I have a background in animal behavior and biology, and have worked with domestic and exotic species for most of my life. For dogs, I have worked in rescue and boarding situations. I have a wealth of experience in handling and managing behavioral challenges such as fear aggression, reactivity, and resource guarding. I’ve worked with dogs of all ages, and have been trained to administer all sorts of medications. Additionally, I have worked with puppies and adult dogs in behavioral training, and am more than capable to follow your routines for management. I have worked with all manner of cats, as well as medication administration and general husbandry. I am more than willing to discuss specifics, in the case your kitty has some special instructions. Even if they aren’t the most friendly to strangers, I’m willing to work with them. Reptile, amphibian, and aquatic care is also well within my capabilities. I have experience with a host of different species, and am always willing to discuss specifics. I want what is best for you and your pets, so let me know how I can set them up for success. My schedule changes, but I have general availability throughout the week. Your needs can be discussed and worked with to best fit both our schedules. I always want to set your pets up for success. Open communication and discussion about your pet’s needs is my utmost priority. I want them to be comfortable in my presence, and that starts at the door. Allow me to work with you on how best to care for your animals while they are in my care. Your animals will always be safe in my care, and never placed in an environment that would endanger them.
About: I have been pet sitting for 10+ years and grew up on a farm which has given me a great skill set for caring for and training many different animals including cats and dogs of all ages, horses, and even llamas! Taking care of animals is without a doubt my true passion so I’d love to help care for your furies friends however possible. I currently have 4 pets at home so I will only be offering sitting and walks outside of our home. I have had many animals so I absolutely understand the importance of safety and trust between the owner and myself. I always make sure to ask about any personality traits of your pet that I should know about as well as anything related to feeding, medications, lifestyle, and potty scheduling.

About: Hi! My name is Valentina, I’ve been walking dogs for three years now in New York City with another app. I recently moved to California for Veterinary School and it will be my first time working with Rover! I’ve volunteered at dog shelters where I was in charge of walking and feeding them and also administered medications when needed. In New York I had the opportunity to walk over 150 dogs as a part time job while I was also working as a vet assistant in a clinic where we were fear free certified so I take it very seriously to establish a fear free and trusted bond with each animal. I’m really patient with animals and always make sure that they’re having a good time during their walks because it’s not just a walk for them. It’s their opportunity to explore and have some enrichment time! I speak English, Spanish and French so I do my best to establish a clear and transparent communication with every owner about their expectations and requirements of each pet! I currently don’t have any pets here in California so I’m always thrilled to get to spend some time with other pets through these job! I hope I can be a good fit for your furry friend! I’m currently in veterinary school so my availability is mostly during the weekends or afternoons after 5pm. But during the summer I’m open to any other day! I always make sure to communicate as much as possible with the owners. I like to provide a clear picture of how the walk/ sitting is going and to make sure they can feel as close as possible to their pets while they are not with them. I like to let owners know when we are about to leave and then during a pause send them a picture during the walk but I would usually put my phone away until we go back just to be fully present during the walk. I always make sure they have clean water before I leave and to leave them with a treat or toy while I’m leaving just for positive reinforcement!
“Zoe was great watching our cat Grace for two weeks. She provided lots of pictures and very detailed updates every day, and she made great friends with Grace, giving her lots of attention. Zoe was awesome taking care of our place, making sure everything was clean before we came home. I really appreciate her frequent communication and attention to detail!”

About: Hey there! I’m Celeste. Ever since I could remember, I’ve been surrounded by animals. Ranging from cats and dogs to farm animals. Personally, having 2 cats and a GSD of my own. I’m not short on experience with animals large and small and administering medication. It’s a stressful experience to leave our pets at home, and just as confusing for them. I wish to treat them with the same love and attention they get at home while they eagerly await your return. I’m currently an Animal Science student, soon to be graduate. I’m looking for a part-time, but in the meantime, I have a wide-availability up until late August. Available everyday unless stated otherwise. When you book with me, your pet will enjoy neighborhood walks, plenty of cuddle time on the couch, as well as any and all needs taken care of. I have a flexible schedule for the summer, which means your pet will rarely be left alone for long periods on the weekends.

I have an extra bedroom and a senior dog who is very calm. I also have a safe neighborhood for walks and a park nearby.
About: What sets me apart is my dedication to truly understanding each pet inside and outside of their homes. I offer senior care, follow routines closely, send constant updates, and pride myself on being punctual and reliable. Outside of pet sitting, I am a full time college student. However this will not stop me from caring for your pet as I will set time aside. I hope to offer my love and care while in college in Pomona and at home in San Rafael. If you are hoping to book me at either location feel free to reach out and I will provide my availability. Also feel free to ask any further questions :) As a full-time college student, pet sitting fits naturally into my weekly routine. Spending time with pets helps me de-stress, stay motivated, and balance school with something I truly enjoy. Please Read: My availability is subject to change due to workload, finals, etc. I will be taking classes during the fall, spring, and summer. But do not worry as I will stay on top of keeping you informed. In my personal home, I have limited back porch but surrounded by lots of grass areas in my neighborhood. While away, I dorm on campus.

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - La Verne
This is the first time I’ve ever used any program to hire a dog sitter for my pups. I chose Hunter and I was so thankful that I did. He took absolutely great care of my dogs doing drops ins. They loved him so much. Now I feel so comfortable when I do need a sitter I know who to call. Thanks so much Hunter. You’re the best.

Melanie was a perfect fit for my two kitties. She put my mind at ease knowing that when I'm away, Melanie will step in and take care of them. Her photos were great to see and I can tell my kitties were happy to see her. I definitely want to have Melanie back to care for my cats.

We are very happy with the care Kellar provided to Barney. This was the first time using a pet care service and we were a little apprehensive, as no one other than family members have ever taken care of him since he became diabetic 4 years ago. After meeting with Kellar prior to the booking, I knew it would be a good fit. We were happy to receive multiple photos from Kellar of Barney throughout the visits. We will definitely use Kellar in the future

Lily cared for our cat Spirit while we were away on our honeymoon and did a fantastic job, she was able to give her medicine, take care of her food water and littler all while giving her all the attention she needed! We will absolutely have her again in the future. Definitely recommend!

Our kitty’s love Stacy. When she came over to drop off the key, one met her at the front door and the other who was in my lap) started purring and meowed to her like she talks to us. This is our third time Stacy has watched our kitties for us and I will definitely hire her again. My kitties agree with me. She communicates well, sends photos of our kitties and I feel she is very trustworthy.

Stacey has been an absolute blessing for our family! She is incredibly patient, kind, and attentive with our 11-week-old German Shepherd. Stacey goes above and beyond—feeding her lunch, taking her on walks, playing with her, and giving her plenty of time to explore both our courtyard and backyard. We especially love the thoughtful updates and adorable photos she sends throughout her visits—it gives us so much peace of mind. We’ve already rebooked with Stacey and plan to continue doing so. If we could give more than 5 stars, we absolutely would! ⭐️

We booked Skylar to care for our three cats for two weeks and she was on time for drop-ins and attentive during each session. She was respectful and able to adapt to each cat's personality, especially one of our high-energy cats, and gave them all plenty of pets and treats. Skylar brought in our mail and packages; kept our spaces clean, and even handled our bins for trash collection days. Will definitely book Skylar again in the future and highly recommend her!

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
