About: (Please be sure to select your dates first to verify my availability.) Recently retired. I have owned dogs my whole life and love their company. My wife and I have a large house with a small lawn in the back yard and nearby is big, beautiful Griffith Park in Claremont that invites lots of walking, running and playing space in a very safe neighborhood. I can devote much of the day to the care and welfare of dogs. I take daily walks for myself and they would be much more enjoyable with a dog. My wife and I love dogs and shower them with affection and care. Lots of safe play space, indoors and out, in a dog-friendly neighborhood. (Sorry, no dogs on beds or furniture but they’ll receive all the love and attention they need.)

About: I have been pet sitting for 10+ years and grew up on a farm which has given me a great skill set for caring for and training many different animals including cats and dogs of all ages, horses, and even llamas! I am currently a veterinary student in SoCal, so I have a wide variety of experience with different animals. I am a second year veterinary student. Taking care of animals is without a doubt my true passion so I’d love to help care for your furies friends however possible. I currently have 4 pets at home so I will only be offering sitting and walks outside of our home. I have had many animals so I absolutely understand the importance of safety and trust between the owner and myself. I always make sure to ask about any personality traits of your pet that I should know about as well as anything related to feeding, medications, lifestyle, and potty scheduling.
About: I specialize in adaptability. I do my best to meet your pet where they’re at in terms of energy level and follow their routine so as to keep them feeling loved and content while you’re away. Whether they want to be spoiled with attention or just have a peaceful lap on which to doze, I’m here to be your emotional support friend’s emotional support friend Providing pet care on Rover is pretty much full time for me as it helps me provide for my family, including my own fur baby My main goal caring for your pet at their home is to keep their routine and environment as consistent as it can be with your absence. I believe the best way to minimize a pet’s stress response to a change in their environment is to try to keep everything around that change as familiar as possible.
About: I am a reliable and attentive animal lover who understands that pets are family (I grew up with dogs, cats, and a bird and tortoise!). Whether it’s long walks, playtime, cuddles, or sticking to a routine, I’ll treat your pet like my own. I’m currently a student at Claremont Grad University where I’m getting my teaching credential. My classes are online so I have flexible evenings. My weekends are generally available as well. I am very attentive of the animals in my care. I always strive to ensure they feel comfortable and happy while their parents are away!
About: I've always had a special connection with animals. My dogs and cats have been rescued, not from a pound but have come to me either from the streets or random place. Had a mixed Rottweiler pup who followed me one rainy night, named him Lucky. Another rainy night years later a kitten followed me to my door, named her Pandora. Rescued a cat from inside a car hood once. Found an injured red cheeked parrot on the sidewalk, who I brought back to health and released back with its flock. They say you can't teach an old dog new tricks, I say with a little patience and lots of love you can teach any animal something new. I have had parents who's dog isn't so social walk up to me, sniff and ask to be pet. The parent telling me they don't EVER do that. Wouldn't mind a crazy active dog, love to stay active by walking around our beautiful parks. My week is pretty flexible I have a lot of free time on my paws. So your children will be very well looked after, they might get annoyed with having me around so much. Have a small yard that has a very small brick wall. I know the importance of safety and always having dog on leash. In-home in or out of crate is fine. And home visits whatever the owner is comfortable with.
About: I've taken care of my friends cats and small dogs when I lived in Spain and took care of my own pets for the last 7 years. For the last 5 months, I've been volunteering at an animal shelter and fostering mama cats and their babies. I work from home and can visit people's houses or take in small animals. I work from home part-time. In my spare time I also volunteer at an animal shelter. I am available to stay at your place or bring your small animal in as needed. I have an extra bedroom and a senior dog who is very calm. I also have a safe neighborhood for walks and a park nearby.
“Zoe was amazing with my boy Ace! We first met in person at my apartment where she got to meet Ace. Ace loves her at first sniff lol! We took a tour and got to know one another. Even before that I could tell Zoe was just a beautiful soul before we met. She was so nice to take care of Ace at my last minute request. She sent pictures, took him for nice long walks and communicated with me very well while I was away. I’m definitely going to use her for future boarding, walking and house sitting!”

Dog parents share their Rover experiences - La Verne
I got called in for an overnight shift very last minute and I wasn’t able to walk my dog before I left. I wasn’t a little skeptical about Rover, but after finding Mia through mutals on social media and seeing her veterinary background, I felt so at ease. When I checked my blink camera, my dog Cairo was tucked in bed with his favorite blanket. I will be booking again. 🫶🏼

Wow, such great service! Hunter arrived promptly for Parker’s walk today. He was very polite and Parker liked him right away. After they returned from their walk, Hunter asked if he could give Parker treats, which Parker loved. Hunter provided photos and a detailed Rover card of their visit, which I really appreciated. I plan to book more walks with him in the future!☺️

Ava is amazing. One of our dogs is stubborn and not good with new people, but Ava was patient during the meet and greet, got the dog to be friendly with her despite our worries. She has also been great at following all of our little instructions and shows a lot of love to the dogs. Highly recommended.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement walker.
