“Laura, is the BEST! She has helped me numerous times last minute when I can’t make it home in time for their third walk of the day. I fully trust her with my special-needs dogs, and they love her to pieces”

“Diana has been incredible. She has always been on time, very accommodating to our requests and very good with the dogs. Our new Dog Koko doesn't get along with strangers easily, but Diana made him comfortable immediately. I would highly recommend her!”

About: I use to pet and babysit a lot throughout the years, sometimes at the same time. Mostly for close friends and family and it's always been very rewarding and fulfilling for me to do. My mission is to look after my clients pets as if they were my own and provide a sense of ease to pet parents while they're in my care. I've recently gone back to college and looking to work part time hours as a dog walker or pet sitter to help me get by. My classes are currently online, and I'm able to which allows for some flexibility in my weekly schedule. I like to ask pet parents to provide me with a written breakdown of everything they would want me to know about they're pet in order to care for them properly. Such as the pets temperament around other pets/animals or if there's any special accomodations needed.

“Jill came through with a last minute request… she not only walked our pup but also made sure he was fed, hydrated, and was mindful to keep the walk in the cool shade due to the afternoon heat! Would highly recommend to anyone looking for a reliable and thoughtful sitter/walker.”

“very reliable, excellent with handling my 2 dogs during walks, and able to provide excellent care for them as well. I highly recommend Steve for anyone looking for a dog walker or sitter.”

“Robert has been a tremendous help walking our pup around the block during the summer. He is punctual, always shows up with a smile and our pup is always so happy to see him. I will definitely be booking Robert for any future walks or whenever Diesel misses his friend.”

“We were in last minute need of someone to walk our pups for their dinner walk since we made plans and Tanya responded almost immediately after requesting her services. We also really liked that Tanya took the time for a meet and greet prior to walking our pups. That helps builds some comfort for all parties involved. We will definitely contact Tanya again when we need someone to walk our dogs.”

“Ariel walked our dog Orson everyday for two weeks when we were on vacation and him with my mom. Ariel was amazing and very kind and patient. Orson was shy in the beginning and she was very patient and kind with him and by the second week he was so excited everytime she came over for the walks. She was also always very punctual and reliable. Will definitely call her again for dog walking next time we are out of town.”

“I’m super happy with Destinee’s services for my dogs. She was super easy to communicate with, flexible according to my dog’s needs and very creative with activities. I have a 11 month old and 2 senior dogs, and she was able to accommodate their needs accordingly. It was my first time leaving my 11 months old alone while I was out of town and destinee made sure to give updates and send a lot of pictures, which I appreciate a lot. Seeing my 11 months old happy, was definitely a great feeling especially being away from her. Thank you so much!”

“Monique is the sweetest and a life saver! She went over and beyond for Scruffy!! She made sure I was also comfortable since this was my first hiring someone to walk my dog! Book her!! You will not regret it!! Thank you Monique!!”

“Jessica has been so great for Moose and our family. My grandma is not fond of our dog because of his size and last minute needed someone to take him out while I wasn’t home. Jessica has been so kind and efficient coming and saving the day we love her!”

About: Hi! 👋🏻 From the earliest days of my childhood, I have been surrounded by dogs of all sorts. They were not just pets to me or my family, they were members of our family. Every dog I have ever owned has left a special mark on my upbringing. The memories of chasing after them in the backyard, caring for them, cuddles, and their loyalty throughout my years have all contributed to shaping the person I am today :) 💕. I’m currently working about 15 hrs a week so, I’m searching for another opportunity in the mornings-afternoons to take care of your furry ones while the opportunity presents itself. I will take care of your dog like my own! I'm dedicated to providing a safe environment for your furry friend 🐾. Your dog's well-being is my top priority. I will always maintain a watchful eye, ensuring that your dog is secure during walks and playtime. I am well-versed in recognizing signs of distress or discomfort and will respond promptly to any situation that may arise. Your dog will not only be in caring hands but also in a secure and loving environment, making their time with me a positive and enjoyable experience.

Anabelia has been wonderful to work with. Her customer service is excellent, she is incredibly patient and kind, and she takes great care of Kiwi. Kiwi has a lot of puppy energy and some anxiety, and Anabelia handles her with confidence and care. She’s also been very accommodating with my last-minute requests, which I truly appreciate. Highly recommend!

Yes, you can find walkers who have experience with handling special pet needs in Ontario. On Rover:
- 87% of walkers can help with special care needs
- 94% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 97% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement walker.
