Kellar took great care of our pups (and house) while we were out of town! Kellar was great with updates and pictures, and was quick to check in when our old lady, Maggi, wasn’t eating (don’t worry, she was just holding out for the good stuff). Both pups were relaxed and happy when we got home - we would definitely ask Kellar to stay with Raffles and Maggi again!

Anthony was so patient with our boy. He tried everything to get him to take his meds, walked him and hung out with him, establishing trust. We were very nervous about having a new sitter. And 13 dog doesn’t adapt well. But Tony did a great job.

Hunter is a fantastic dog sitter! He clearly loves dogs and did such a great job with our rescue pup during his overnight stay. Hunter was very communicative, did everything we asked, and was so patient and caring. He connected with our dog so quickly, which was such a relief for us in leaving him overnight for the first time. We are grateful to have found Hunter and will be utilizing his services again for sure! Thanks, Hunter!

Shanise is going to be the best sitter you’ll ever have. She followed every instruction, sent us photos on every feeding/walking/potty time and updated us on how my dog is doing. She really helped relax our nerves while we were away from my baby boy. As long as she’s available, I would hire her to take care of my dog for the foreseeable future.

Lydia cared for our German Shepherd puppy and senior Newfoundland while we went on a short vacation. Immediately after meeting with her it was evident that she loves dogs and has a great connection with them. She took very good notes to ensure she followed the pups routine and kept us informed with plenty of photos and messages. I would highly recommend her for house sitting or other pet services.

About: Hi! I'm Renae, a lifelong animal lover with a calm, gentle personality and a genuine passion for caring for pets. I know how important it is to feel confident and worry free when you're away, so I focus on safety, communication, and lots of love. I care for pets the way I care for my own, with patience, attention and respect for their routine. I would love to meet your pets and help make your time away easier and stress free. I've designed my schedule around providing reliable, loving attention to every animal I look after seamlessly integrating walks, feeding times and playtime into my flow. I can dog sit 2 pets from same household. Pet care naturally fits into my daily and weekly routine because it blends seamlessly with the rhythm of my home life. Each day includes dedicated time for feeding, fresh water, walks, play and simple check-ins to make sure pets feel calm, comfortable, and loved. I structure my schedule so that pet visits are spaced throughout the day, allowing me to give each animal my full attention and unhurried care.

Stacey was an excellent dog sitter for our little anxious Dakota. Throughout the six days she stayed in our home with Dakota, she kept us apprised of how she was doing. From the first day when Dakota was rather shy, through the trust she quickly gained, evidenced by the video & photo updates of all the outdoor backyard play, frisbee chasing, zoomies, park walks, and all the hugs & kisses. Stacey is clearly an animal lover. During her introductory home visit with us to meet Dakota, she showed such a genuine caring interest in Dakota, inquiring about her health, likes/dislikes, personality, and details about her specific care. Stacey sure bonded well with Dakota, putting all our worries at ease. We hope to have Stacey care for Dakota during our future vacations.

I work from home part-time. In my spare time I also volunteer at an animal shelter. I am available to stay at your place or bring your small animal in as needed. About: I’ve been a dog groomer for 3 years now. I treat every dog like family, not just a booking. My calm, patient energy helps shy or anxious pups settle in fast, and I’m great at reading body language so they always feel safe. What sets me apart: Puppy training support - I’ll keep up with your potty routine, crate training, and basic commands like sit, stay, and leash manners so your young dog stays on track while you’re away. Senior dog care - I’m experienced with slower walks, medication schedules, joint-friendly play, and extra TLC for older dogs who need more comfort and attention. Photo updates + communication - You’ll get regular pics and updates because I know peace of mind matters. Whether you’ve got a playful puppy or a mellow senior, I’ll match their energy and give them the same care I’d give my own dog. Can’t wait to meet your pup! 🐾 I’m a dog groomer, working Tuesday through Friday from 8 AM to 5 PM. I’m also available after-hours if needed. My days off are Sunday and Monday, and I’m available all day on those days. I provide structured, reliable care in your home by following your dog’s exact routine for feeding, exercise, medication, and rest. I adapt my approach based on age and temperament — reinforcing training for puppies and offering gentle, patient support for senior dogs. I maintain a clean, secure environment and provide daily photo updates with clear communication. I also respect your home and can assist with basic tasks like mail collection and plant care upon request.

Jordan was amazing! My senior citizen has a history of bad anxiety especially around the Fourth of July with the fireworks but Jordan kept me reassured that my boy was doing great and that made me at peace while I was away, which is all I can ever ask for while I’m away. She sent pictures and updates and I would definitely reuse her again.

About: I have been in the veterinary medicine field for 8 years now. I have both experiences in small animal clinic as well as emergency medicine. I am very comfortable handling small and large animals. I graduated from Cal Poly Pomona in with a bachelor’s in agriculture with an emphasis in animal science. Being surrounded by animals is part of my daily routine. Before being offered the position as veterinary technician , I used to work at a pet resort so I am familiar with pet boarding. Working with multiple pets in one household is not a big of a deal. I can administer medication orally and can give injections if needed. If you have any other questions feel free to ask. I am currently a full time veterinary technician working from Monday-Friday, making it easier for me to have an open availability for Saturday and Sunday. I can also be available to stay weekdays if needed if scheduling works out. I have a 9 foot fence, making sure that my two German Shepards can not jump out, I also have multiple cameras installed to monitor. I have had a cat enclosure built so that cats can have access to the outside world within a safe and enclosed space.

Hunter is the best! Hunter responds quickly to messages, is punctual, and trustworthy. Mostly, he's friendly! The first time we met Hunter at the meet and greet with our dogs, we knew they would be in good hands. Our two dogs warmed up quickly to Hunter and he clearly has a way with them, even getting our cautious pup to relax into a belly rub rather quickly. The dog sit was accompanied by detailed texts and pictures, helping us to relax into our trip. Hunter is a very nice person that we have no problem trusting our dogs and home with.

Leaving my dog for a week is hard for me. Leaving her at her house seemed like the best option. And, Eric was at our house, so our dog was cared for and our house watched too. Myra was able to handle my crazy calicos and my chinchilla with no problem! I have yet to find a pet sitter who is so detailed, care oriented, and well versed in exotic pets. She even gave my cats a nice groom! My medium haired looks fluffier than ever :). As for my chinchilla, I usually have to sweat over the fact that people have never even seen one before. She knew exactly what to feed him, pet him, clean his cage, and he was the calmest I’ve ever see him post trip. Left the apartment and litter boxes immaculate! Will be booking again.

FAQs for House Sitting - La Verne

Frequently asked questions about Rover

The average cost for House Sitting in La Verne on Rover is $53.5 per night (as of July 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.

Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .

As of July 2026, there are 12,174 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across La Verne. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:

  • Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
  • Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
  • Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
  • Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.

The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred La Verne walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.

It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in La Verne maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:

  • Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
  • Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
  • Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.

Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in La Verne choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.

For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.

Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in La Verne. On Rover:

  • 90% of sitters can help with special care needs
  • 93% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 97% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
