“Keller was truly wonderful with Pasha and Marie! I have such a hard time leaving my pets, especially because Pasha is older and has some health needs and medications, so I usually don’t feel like I have the freedom to go on trips without having so much anxiety about them. Keller really changed that for me. They were so kind, thoughtful, communicative, and attentive from the very beginning. They sent lots of updates and photos, asked thoughtful questions, and were so careful with Pasha’s routine, walks, meals, and medications. It was clear that they genuinely cared about both of my girls feeling comfortable, safe, and loved. Pasha and Marie both warmed up to Keller so quickly, which honestly says everything. Having someone I could actually trust with my fur babies made such a huge difference, and I’m so grateful we found them. I will absolutely continue using Keller to watch my fur babies and highly recommend them.”

“Being the first time away from our shelter pup,we were very nervous about him - if he would be well taken care of, if he would have a good rapport with his sitter, and if our sitter would even work out. Steven was amazing and allowed us to enjoy our vacation knowing Ozzy was well taken care of. He established a good relationship with him before our vacation (it helped that we had several drop ins before so Ozzy would be familiar and comfortable with him - I highly recommend doing this for any new sitter) and was respectful of our home while we were away. Thank you Steven for taking such great care of Ozzy!”

“Hunter was awesome. He was very attentive to our fur baby and respectful of our home. Hunter also kept us regularly updated with pictures and videos so we knew our puppy was well cared for. I will definitely be rebooking Hunter the next time I need a sitter and I will recommend him to everyone ☺️”

“I cannot say enough wonderful things about Anthony! He cared for our severely injured pup with the utmost compassion, patience, and professionalism. From the very start, Anthony followed every single care instruction with precision, making sure our dog was comfortable, safe, and on track with recovery. Beyond just being attentive, he showed our pup so much genuine love and affection—it truly gave us peace of mind knowing our dog was in the best hands possible. It’s rare to find someone who treats your pet as if they were their own, but that’s exactly what Anthony did. We are beyond grateful for his kindness and dedication, and we couldn’t feel more appreciative. We are already looking forward to having him doggy sit for us again in the future. Thank you for everything, Anthony!”

“Rachel was absolutely amazing from start to finish! She was very prompt with her response to my initial query, quickly scheduled a meet and greet, and came prepared with questions. She is very professional, reliable, and absolutely loves animals. Buster had a great time with Rachel! She stayed with him for three days and I came home to a spotless home and a happy dog. She reviewed all the instructions in depth and consistently provided me with updates and cute little videos of Buster. I will absolutely be using Rachel again in the future and can wholeheartedly recommend her to others.”

About: Hi! I'm Renae, a lifelong animal lover with a calm, gentle personality and a genuine passion for caring for pets. I know how important it is to feel confident and worry free when you're away, so I focus on safety, communication, and lots of love. I care for pets the way I care for my own, with patience, attention and respect for their routine. I would love to meet your pets and help make your time away easier and stress free. I've designed my schedule around providing reliable, loving attention to every animal I look after seamlessly integrating walks, feeding times and playtime into my flow. I can dog sit 2 pets from same household. Pet care naturally fits into my daily and weekly routine because it blends seamlessly with the rhythm of my home life. Each day includes dedicated time for feeding, fresh water, walks, play and simple check-ins to make sure pets feel calm, comfortable, and loved. I structure my schedule so that pet visits are spaced throughout the day, allowing me to give each animal my full attention and unhurried care.

About: Hey there! I’m Celeste. Ever since I could remember, I’ve been surrounded by animals. Ranging from cats and dogs to farm animals. Personally, having 2 cats and a GSD of my own. I’m not short on experience with animals large and small and administering medication. It’s a stressful experience to leave our pets at home, and just as confusing for them. I wish to treat them with the same love and attention they get at home while they eagerly await your return. I’m currently an Animal Science student, soon to be graduate. I’m looking for a part-time, but in the meantime, I have a wide-availability up until late August. Available everyday unless stated otherwise. When you book with me, your pet will enjoy neighborhood walks, plenty of cuddle time on the couch, as well as any and all needs taken care of. I have a flexible schedule for the summer, which means your pet will rarely be left alone for long periods on the weekends.
About: I am a reliable and attentive animal lover who understands that pets are family (I grew up with dogs, cats, and a bird and tortoise!). Whether it’s long walks, playtime, cuddles, or sticking to a routine, I’ll treat your pet like my own. I’m currently a student at Claremont Grad University where I’m getting my teaching credential. My classes are online so I have flexible evenings. My weekends are generally available as well. I am very attentive of the animals in my care. I always strive to ensure they feel comfortable and happy while their parents are away!
“Lydia cared for our German Shepherd puppy and senior Newfoundland while we went on a short vacation. Immediately after meeting with her it was evident that she loves dogs and has a great connection with them. She took very good notes to ensure she followed the pups routine and kept us informed with plenty of photos and messages. I would highly recommend her for house sitting or other pet services.”

About: I've taken care of my friends cats and small dogs when I lived in Spain and took care of my own pets for the last 7 years. For the last 5 months, I've been volunteering at an animal shelter and fostering mama cats and their babies. I work from home and can visit people's houses or take in small animals. I work from home part-time. In my spare time I also volunteer at an animal shelter. I am available to stay at your place or bring your small animal in as needed. I have an extra bedroom and a senior dog who is very calm. I also have a safe neighborhood for walks and a park nearby.
About: I’m a huge animal lover who believes every pet deserves to be totally spoiled when their humans are away! On top of the fun stuff, my background in healthcare means I have a very watchful eye and high attention to detail. My experience includes caring for animals with epilepsy, hypothyroidism, and other conditions. If your furry friend needs medications, I've got it covered. Whether you're on a night out or vacation, you can relax knowing your fur baby will be safe and entertained with me! I am a graduate nursing student. Balancing school and life means I’m a pro at time management. I am currently available on weekends, Mondays, and most Tuesdays! When I visit your home, my top priority is keeping your pet's routine as normal and stress-free as possible. I treat your space with the utmost respect—you’ll come back to a happy pet and a house that looks exactly how you left it. I always double-check that doors and gates are secure. Plus, I love sending daily photo and text updates so you know your furry best friend and your home are perfectly safe!
“Shanise is going to be the best sitter you’ll ever have. She followed every instruction, sent us photos on every feeding/walking/potty time and updated us on how my dog is doing. She really helped relax our nerves while we were away from my baby boy. As long as she’s available, I would hire her to take care of my dog for the foreseeable future.”

“Jaclyn watched Pancho for 3 days while I was out of town. She kept the house tidy and sent updates/pictures throughout the day. She is caring and friendly and I will definitely use her in the future.”

“Our second booking with Letitia went just as great as the first! I felt like she really cared about our dogs and their health and safety. Our 2 dogs looked happy and comfortable around her and that says a lot for one of our dogs who is a lot more shy around new people. She also went above and beyond to entertain and keep the fur babies happy and she did things around the house before she left the last day that wasn't asked of her to do but is SO helpful after returning from a trip. I hope when we need a dog sitter again, she'll be available. Letitia is a great find!!”

About: Always available, any time, and any circumstance! Lived and cared for animals for many years. I'll take care of your babies always and with love! I am in school part-time so I will be available every day of the week including weekends. Unfortunately some days later than others. With advance notice I should be able to help always!! I treat any pet I watch and take care of as if they were my own. I am gentle and will bring positivity in your space!
“Short Version: Stacey is incredible and you should not hesitate to book her services, you will absolutely not regret it. Long Version: We hired Stacey for house-sitting for 4 days while my wife and I were out of town. Our dog, Padmé, is a 7mo old Shepinois puppy that has lots and lots of energy. We got our dog during the pandemic so she is very attached to us and this was the first time she would be without us overnight. Stacey came to meet us once shortly after we requested the booking, and once again right before our trip. This was to make sure Padmé was ok with Stacey and to go over the plan while we were gone. Stacey was very attentive and understanding of all the information we had to give her about Padmé and we know it was vital in making sure Padmé had a stress-free time while we were gone. Stacey took care of Padmé just the same as if it was my wife or I, and that means the world to us. She made sure Padmé had lots of attention and love, and also lots of exercise, both mental and physical. While we were away Stacey was very responsive to texts and provided multiple updates with photos each day. We had a lot of anxiety about leaving Padmé, and Stacey really helped put our minds at ease, and kept them at ease while we were gone. I will absolutely use Stacey's services again, and I strongly recommend her for any needs you may have as well. She is excellent!!”

Thank you Kellar for taking such good care of our senior pup! We were nervous about going away for the weekend and leaving our dog at home since he is starting to show his age. Kellar was great about sending us updates and taking extra special care of our dog when he had some anxious nights while we were gone.

Hunter is the best! Hunter responds quickly to messages, is punctual, and trustworthy. Mostly, he's friendly! The first time we met Hunter at the meet and greet with our dogs, we knew they would be in good hands. Our two dogs warmed up quickly to Hunter and he clearly has a way with them, even getting our cautious pup to relax into a belly rub rather quickly. The dog sit was accompanied by detailed texts and pictures, helping us to relax into our trip. Hunter is a very nice person that we have no problem trusting our dogs and home with.

Leaving my dog for a week is hard for me. Leaving her at her house seemed like the best option. And, Eric was at our house, so our dog was cared for and our house watched too. Eric is experienced and our dog, Bella, liked him. This is our first time using Rover and we're looking forward to being able to travel and feel confident Bella is well cared for.

We had a wedding to go to in Reno, Nevada and Lily agreed to watch our pitbull, Chance. Lily has house sit for us before but never overnight. We flew out on Wednesday morning and flew back on Friday afternoon. Therefore, Lily spent two nights at our home, taking care of our dog. She sent photos and videos of their days. Chance loves Lily so much. I say her name and he tilts his head and wags his tail. In the event, you’re looking for a highly qualified pet sitter, I would recommend that you give Lily a try.

Jennifer was amazing with our dog over Memorial Day weekend! She was attentive, responsive, and kept us updated the entire time! She followed all of our instructions perfectly and even went above and beyond by getting our dog new toys. We felt completely at ease knowing she was in such great hands. We highly recommend Jennifer and look forward to the next time she can babysit our dog!

Jubilee and I were very happy with Isabella! She took great care of her. Food, meds, walks and backyard play. There were end of the day pictures and updates on what their day consisted of. My home was also well take care of; clean and just the way I left it when I returned. Thank you Isabella! I’ll definitely request you again!

We highly recommend Degan! This is the second time we've had her watch our cats. She takes great care of them and the house. She is reliable, diligent, and caring. When we return, our kitties are always happy. We can tell that she has given them lots of love and play time!

Amirah was absolutely wonderful. We were away for two weeks and she took care of our animals like they were her own. She sent pictures and updates every day, she communicated and made such an effort to meet the needs of our animals and also fulfill all of our requests. We were able to enjoy our time away knowing our animals were happy, healthy, cared for, and in good hands. We cannot thank her enough and we highly recommend to anyone looking for some one to care for their fur babies.

Myra was able to handle my crazy calicos and my chinchilla with no problem! I have yet to find a pet sitter who is so detailed, care oriented, and well versed in exotic pets. She even gave my cats a nice groom! My medium haired looks fluffier than ever :). As for my chinchilla, I usually have to sweat over the fact that people have never even seen one before. She knew exactly what to feed him, pet him, clean his cage, and he was the calmest I’ve ever see him post trip. Left the apartment and litter boxes immaculate! Will be booking again.
Rachel was absolutely amazing from start to finish! I will absolutely be using Rachel again in the future and can wholeheartedly recommend her to others.

FAQs for House Sitting - La Verne
Frequently asked questions about Rover
The average cost for House Sitting in La Verne on Rover is $53.5 per night (as of July 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.
Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .
As of July 2026, there are 12,174 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across La Verne. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred La Verne walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in La Verne maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in La Verne choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in La Verne. On Rover:
- 90% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 93% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 97% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
