“I’ve been a returning client of Bonnie’s for several months, and she has been wonderful to work with. She is truly an angel—always kind, supportive, punctual, and highly professional. I genuinely appreciate her willingness to help and her consistent reliability. I will absolutely continue working with Bonnie as long as she’s available.”

“Letitia did an excellent job of house sitting with Dash, our English Setter. He can be a handful. We came home to a happy dog and a clean house. Letitia also sent us photos and updates on how Dash was doing.”

“Kat house sat for us with our 3 dogs for a weekend. She was really great at communicating during the stay and sending pictures of our dogs throughout the day. We returned to a very well looked after home and dogs. Overall, this was a very positive experience and we would certainly recommend Kat to anyone looking for house sitting needs and would 100% look to have her stay again when we take future trips!”

“Samantha is the best!!! Hands down the sweetest to all 3 of my baby dogs. I also truly appreciate the extra care she gave to my little high maintenance older dog when she wasn’t feeling too well on our long trip away. Highly recommend her to anyone. I also appreciate the extra care she takes with our home while we were away. Thanks again!!”

“I am so glad we found Lily to take care of River. Our three month old puppy requires a lot of attention and she did an absolute wonderful job. We will definitely be hiring Lily again.”

“Ally was amazing! Our GSD is a ball of nerves and when Ally got to our home on the first morning, our pup had had an accident and gotten out of her crate. Ally immediately sent us an update with pictures and cleaned up the mess. She checked in with me daily and my pup was very comfortable with her (always laying for belly rubs). I highly, highly recommend Ally to any fur-parent. I will definitely be re-booking in the future.”

“Phenomenal engagement with both of my pups and very comfortable with them considering they are big dogs. Would absolutely have him come and dog sit with my pups again. I know they enjoyed their time with him.”

“We used Cheyenne for house sitting for our dog and cat and we cannot recommend her enough. We got frequent photos and videos, the animals were played with and loved, and she printed out cute photos of them as a welcome home gift. Thank you again, Cheyenne!”

“Isabella was beyond incredible with my four-year-old husky. She took the time and effort to make sure my husky was well stimulated and exercised. Isabella is great at communication, sending photos and updates throughout the day. She also took care of my house and followed the rules. Isabella also went above and beyond and helped Nyra get more comfortable being in a crate. I highly recommend her services!!”

“Kellar took great care of our pups (and house) while we were out of town! Kellar was great with updates and pictures, and was quick to check in when our old lady, Maggi, wasn’t eating (don’t worry, she was just holding out for the good stuff). Both pups were relaxed and happy when we got home - we would definitely ask Kellar to stay with Raffles and Maggi again!”

“Rachel did such a fantastic job taking care of my pup! I felt at ease the entire time. She sent lots of updates and pictures/videos of my Ellie, she even brought her some treats and a toy!”

About: I've taken care of my neighbors pets off and on since 2018. Along with that I have taken care of my own dog since 2019. I don't mind picking up after a dog or if necessary cleaning up a dog in case something goes wrong I'm currently between jobs but I make it a priority to walk my dog every morning around my neighborhood 2-3 times a day 7 days a week. I make sure my dog is fed every morning and night, we play whenever she has too much energy or gets zoomies. Checking in on my neighbors or technically clients animals was always a top priority every morning or every other morning depending on instructions. I have no issues house sitting if it is needed
“Lola spent the day with us getting to know our cantankerous pup while we prepped for a wedding. She was able to gain her trust, and we were able to rest easy that Pepper Potts was in good hands. Lola also sent us updates while we were away, which were greatly appreciated.”

“Overall, everything went well, and Buddy really liked Consuelo. The only concern was that Buddy’s water bowl was completely empty when we got home, and he seemed very thirsty. We hope a little more attention can be given to keeping his water bowl filled in the future.”
“Anne is very responsive and caring! Our dog loves her companion. She sends pictures and updates everyday and keeps an eye on whether there is any change in behavior of our pet. I had a last minutes business travel and I could travel with peace of mind knowing that my dog is in good hands. I would really recommend her if you need someone to watch your pets!”

“Meghan was great with our girls! We had her stay for a quick trip out of state for the weekend. She sent updates about them with pictures daily. The house was just as it was when we left. We can’t wait to book her again!”

ABSOLUTELY AMAZING!!!🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 i absolutely loved alyssa taking care of our pets! she had a full house: a german shepard, elderly cat, and 2 other cats. two animals had medication and she held down the fort! we had a lot of instructions, schedules, and they needed a lot of attention. we have pet water fountains and everything. alyssa went above and beyond to take care of our fur babies and spend a lot of extra time with them while also making sure our house was ok. with past sitters we came home to upset animals and messes, but with alyssa, we came home to very happy animals and no messes! will absolutely be booking her again. very ecstatic that with alyssa you can come home from vacation and get the rest you need because she took amazing care of everything and everything is in order! you don’t have to worry about a thing when you come back and while you’re on vacation and she gives you awesome updates!🥰💗
This is our first time using a service/app like this. We were in a bind with a looming trip, and honesty had no other options besides one of us missing altogether. We were nervous having previously only used family and close friends to house sit and dog sit. However Kellie’s reviews and number of repeat clients had us feeling a little more comfortable. Luckily she was available very last minute and agreed to meet with us and the dogs which made us feel even more comfortable with the process. We left and by the 2nd day we were feeling much more comfortable with the situation due to her updates and photos. When the trip ended and we returned, we found the house in better shape than we left it in, and the dogs were still happy and healthy. Overall we are very pleased with Kellie and are happy we have found someone that we may be able to use again!

If you are looking for a pet sitter who is loving, caring, and professional, Victoria is the one! She stayed at our house and took such great care of our fur babies. She communicated with us and sent us pictures throughout our time away. I cannot thank her enough for all that she did. I highly recommend her!

Miracle sitter! I booked a guy originally because my 60 pound pitbull refused to use the stairs so we had to carry him up and down. Justin was able to get my dog to go up and down the stairs! I enjoyed all the text message notifications on how he was doing. Justin paid attention to my general health instructions for Tyson as he was recovering from surgery (neutered). My dog loves him, and seemed very well walked and cared for!

We always feel so comfortable leaving our fur babies and our home in Destinee's care. She goes above and beyond in her care for our pups and our home. Thank you, Destinee! We appreciate you and all the love you gave Shakira during this trip. We arrived home to a happy girl. We know she will enjoy more visits in the future. :)

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Upland walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Upland maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Upland choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Upland. On Rover:
- 89% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 93% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 97% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
