“Josette has been our go-to Pet Sitter for over a year. She takes great care of our pets and is also respectful of our space. She cleans up after our pets outside and sprays down the messes. She also cleans up after herself and washes the linens, when we don’t expect her to do so. She is all around a kind, considerate, and a thoughtful professional. I highly recommend Josette as your Pet Sitter.”

“Thank you for taking such good care of my kids! My dog, Charlie, and my cat, Apollo, both were very well taken care of. I received a lot of updates and photos and came home to a clean house with happy animals. I recommend Ryan for taking care of your babies :)”

“Dustin was the perfect dog/housesitter! He stayed with our pup while we were away for about a week, and did a great job keeping in contact with beautiful photographs of our dog, as well as taking excellent care of our home. He is a natural with dogs and immediately connected with our dog at their initial meeting. Would definitely recommend Dustin and have him back again next time!!”

“Nicole was kind, confident, and loving with Forest. She made it a priority to meet up in advance of the stay, asked thoughtful questions, and learned Forest’s quirks! She took him on multiple long daily walks, sent daily recaps with photos, and left the house in perfect condition. Would definitely love to work with Nicole again in the future.”

“Melanie watched our very active lab at our home for 5 days. She communicated daily and matched his energy with long walks and active playtime. She was conscientious and made us feel so comfortable while we were away. HIGHLY recommend!”

About: I’ve been around animals my entire life and have always had dogs of my own, giving me years of hands on experience caring for pets with different personalities, energy levels, and routines. Over the years, I’ve cared for friends’ and family members’ dogs through walks, drop-in visits, feeding, and companionship while they’re away. I also grew up with two cats, so I’m comfortable providing cat care, including feeding, litter box cleaning, check-ins, and companionship. While I’m most experienced with dogs, I truly enjoy caring for both dogs and cats. In 2025, I launched WalkWell, a local pet care business focused on reliable, personalized dog walking and pet care services in La Jolla. I currently offer solo and group walks, drop-in visits for dogs and cats, and customized care based on each pet’s unique needs. I’m very active and love spending time outdoors, so I enjoy making sure dogs get the exercise, fresh air, and attention they need whether that’s a neighborhood walk, beach stroll, or simply some extra movement during the day. I understand how important trust and communication are when someone is caring for your pet, and I treat every animal as if they were my own. Pet care is built into my weekly routine through my business, WalkWell. My schedule is flexible, which allows me to provide weekday walks, drop in visits, and recurring care for both dogs and cats. I’m available for morning, midday, afternoon, and select evening visits, and I make sure each pet gets personalized attention based on their needs. Safety, trust, and communication are very important to me when caring for someone’s pet. For walks and drop in visits in a client’s home, I make sure pets stay on their normal routine, including walks, feeding, fresh water, playtime, medication (if needed), and plenty of attention. I’m respectful of each client’s home and provide updates/photos so owners feel comfortable while they’re away. In my home, pets are treated like family and safety always comes first. I have a dog of my own, so if I ever accept daycare or boarding requests, it would only be for pets that seem like a good fit, are well-behaved, and get along well with my black lab. I prefer to do a meet and greet beforehand whenever possible to make sure everyone is comfortable.
“The BEST! Emily sent all the photos and our two pups loved her. They barely cared when we got home which to us seems like a great visit. Thank you Emily for everything.”

About: I grew up with dogs and have cared for them my entire life, including dog sitting for families, friends, and neighbors over the years. What sets me apart is that I truly enjoy spending time with dogs and making them feel comfortable, loved, and cared for while their owners are away. I'm dependable, attentive to routines, and happy to provide regular walks, playtime, cuddles, and updates so you can have peace of mind knowing your pet is in good hands. I am in online summer school, so I am looking for a job that can align with my current schedule, while making income. I am very flexible and I have my own car, which allows me to drive from house to house! I always prioritize a pet's safety, comfort, and routine while their owner is away. In a client's home, I follow all care instructions carefully, including feeding schedules, walks, medications (if needed), and any household rules. I make sure pets receive plenty of attention, exercise, and companionship, while also keeping the home clean, secure, and respected. I understand that trusting someone with both your pet and your home is a big decision, and I strive to provide dependable care and regular updates for peace of mind.
“Eucalyptus was fantastic, she was so patient with everyone, took time to make sure all the dogs felt loved, kept up with all the routines, and made it the least stressful she could for everyone. Definitely will be using her services again.”

“Bridgette was so wonderful!! She stayed at our home and watched our puppy and made us feel so comfortable leaving town. Highly recommend!! Kind, responsible, and our pup loved her.”

“Megan is fabulous and so sweet! We felt very comfortable having her stay at our home and our pup, Fenway, warmed up to her immediately. It’s clear Megan is very experienced and loves dogs. We hope to have her stay again in the future!”

About: Hey, I'm Jack! I grew up on a family farm surrounded by animals, which gave me a lifelong love for pets. My roommates and I currently live with two rescued dogs, so I’m very familiar with the daily care, attention, and patience every pets need. I’m 27, work from home full-time, and live an active lifestyle in Pacific Beach. Because I work remotely, I’m able to spend plenty of time with pets throughout the day—whether that’s walks, playtime, or just keeping them company. Every pet has their own personality and needs, and I do my best to understand and accommodate them. I’m dependable, easy to communicate with, and quick to respond to messages. I’d love the chance to meet you and your pets!
“Debbie stayed in our home with our senior dog and puppy while we were out of town and she was great! She reached out if she had questions and kept our house in order. I asked her for pictures of the pups, too, and she was quick to send them. Debbie also came over before we left for vacation to meet the dogs again—and she was so comfortable with them (and really nice to talk to). We felt confident and comfortable with Debbie in our home and will 100% book her again!”

La Jolla pet parents share their Rover experiences
Aleksandra had an excellent rapport with my dogs from the beginning. They quickly settled down during the meet&greet and she was not rattled by them. She was attentive to instructions and asked questions as needed. Most importantly she was prompt and reliable. Very good at reading an understanding the dogs communication. The stay went well.

My dogs mean the world to me & leaving them is always a little nerve-racking so finding someone I can trust & rely on for their safety & care means everything. Elise instantly put me at ease from the moment I met her. I was immediately impressed by her careful attention to detail & thoughtfulness as I went over all the instructions for my 2 dogs. I felt comfortable knowing my girls were in capable, caring hands. She is trustworthy, professional, and very considerate. She had great communication & updates with adorable photos of my pups. We returned to our home in perfect condition, and healthy, happy dogs. I am so grateful to have found Elise & I highly recommend her!

Maria is incredible. She was so attentive to my pup’s needs, including her laundry list of medications and fussy eating requirements. She sent frequent detailed updates and photos, asked excellent and intuitive questions, and left our home even cleaner than it was when she arrived. I am so, so grateful to her and I can tell our dog truly trusted her. We’ll be repeat clients for sure!

Roberta is hands down the best rover I’ve ever had. She watched both of my pups while I was out of town. My boxer Toasty is very anxious and takes forever to warm up to new people and within an hour he was giving her kisses. She kept me updated with tons of photos and videos of them on walks, playing with toys, and she even got them pup cups! I could tell they were genuinely having the time of their lives. And when I got home, the place was spotless. Couldn’t recommend her more highly.

I booked Catalina last minute for house sitting and she was great with my two dogs. She was prepared and arrived the day of booking, on short notice, for a quick look around the place and took notes. She also managed one of the dogs having separation anxiety at night.
Gina went above and beyond when watching my cat! I really appreciated all the pictures and updates throughout the weekend. She was very professional and trustworthy which is of utmost importance for anyone coming into your home and caring for your fur baby. I will reach out to her first next time I need a sitter and I’d recommend her to anyone!
