I offer a unique blend of scientific precision and deep compassion for your pets. For two years, I fostered shy and anxious dogs for the Helen Woodward Animal Center (HWAC). Getting accepted into their program required passing a rigorous vetting process, including interviews, home visits, and specialized training. Through HWAC, I gained extensive experience caring for rescues with complex medical and behavioral needs, including parasites, severe dental issues, and anxiety. I also provided essential behavior and obedience training to help these dogs thrive. Before fostering dogs, I was the proud owner of a diabetic cat for five years. I am completely comfortable with advanced medical care, including tracking blood glucose with a glucometer, administering subcutaneous insulin injections twice daily, and giving oral medications. My background as a scientist allows me to communicate clearly and effectively with veterinarians and clinic staff, ensuring your pet's medical instructions are followed perfectly. Because I currently have no pets of my own and am taking a hiatus from work, I have total availability. I look forward to devoting 100% of my time, skills, and love to your companion here in the San Diego area!

Very sweet with Letty
Julie was an exceptional pet sitter for our cat Pipkin! Pipkin is on RX Kidney Care food and requires a detailed feeding schedule. Julie quickly learned the schedule and took extra care to keep Pipkin’s regular feedings on track and perfectly executed while we were away for a week. She kept Pipkin’s water fountain clean and full and her box fresh and tidy as well. She was very receptive and observant of Pipkin’s patterns and behaviors giving her space when needed so as to not provoke any unnecessary stress in our absence. Pipkin loved her and even came out and was meeting her at the door when she arrived - a true sign of a great sitter as far as our cat is concerned. Julie communicated clearly and quickly and she was wonderful at keeping us up to date on how things were going each visit, by sharing detailed River report cards and photos. She really relived any anxieties about being away from our beloved girl. When we arrived home we were greeted by a happy relaxed cat - nobody would have guessed we’d been gone so long! I would 100% recommend Julie for petsitting any type of pet. She’s kind, courteous, detail oriented and she clearly understands and loves animals. We will be booking her again when we plan out next trip.
