“Tobin was INCREDIBLE with my dog Ruby. He was on-time, sent updates every 30 minutes and was beyond kind. Ruby loved him and we will certainly hire him again. Highly recommend.”

“Elizabeth is so thoughtful and responsible. She used to walk our senior dog who needed a lot of patience and help, and now walks our higher-energy pup when we're at work. Thank you!”

About: I have raised and trained a pitbull puppy and a chihuahua puppy. I have also taken care of a senior chihuahua with health complications. I have pet sat multiple times for dogs with similar health issues and volunteered with an animal rescue for over a year. I am currently a student at USF missing my pets at home. I have a flexible work schedule with morning, early afternoon, and late evening scheduling due to classes. To prioritize pet safety, it is essential to remove potential hazards such as small objects that may be swallowed or electrical cords that may be chewed on. I make it a goal to prevent any accidents that may occur by placing certain objects out of reach and keeping a constant watch on the pets.

“Ollie obviously loves going out with Kevin. He comes home ready for a big drink and nap. Kevin is always on time and it’s easy to work with him. Hope to rebook in the near future. Betty”

“Susie was great! Helped us fill in the gaps with ease. She was super communicative, great with Ivy, on time, reliable. Was even tolerant of our dog that really likes to pull on leash.”

“Katie is amazing! She is super responsive, caring and a total dog lover. Our Harley is a hyper giant schnauzer that requires a lot of attention and Katie was spot on in giving him the care that he needed on the walk! I highly recommend Katie!”

About: I grew up in a zoo! At one point we had 18 cats and five dogs at the same time (and an iguana, a potbellied pig, rats, a 100 gallon aquarium...and more). I love animals and specialize in high-care pets such as elder needs and aggressive breeds. I work from home (or your home)! I am available and present with your pets and can give them all the love they need and deserve! I have a tall fenced yard in Cole Valley for pets that require a safe off-leash outside time. There are two submissive friendly dogs in my house--however they stay elsewhere in the case of pets with special needs or behavioral issues.

About: I offer a wealth of hands-on pet care experience, from raising a malti-poo puppy in my 20s to providing compassionate senior and end-of-life care for my beloved cat, Ruby. My passion lies in cat care, and I've thrived in both fostering and in-home cat sitting environments. I'm proud to have given 18 cats (and counting!) a warm, loving home, ensuring their well-being while they find their forever homes. I love being a part of their lives and have cat-sat for them after they're settled in their new homes. While I'm definitely a cat guy now, I know my way around dog behavior and I'm comfortable looking after small to medium-sized dogs of all kinds. I'm currently working on publishing a novel, so my schedule is highly flexible. I'm ready to care for your furry family member anytime! I love being outside and dog walking is an amazing excuse to be out and about in the beautiful Bay. I have my own car, too. As a multi-year cat foster parent, I know how important it is to keep an environment safe for cats and dogs - they can be tricky fellows! Assuring nothing is going to be gotten into or gotten out of is my #1 priority.

“I’m so appreciative of Iva’s scheduling flexibility as I’m a healthcare worker with constantly changing shifts. Iva is always so punctual and provides updates of each visit, making a new puppy mom (me) feel less anxious to leave him knowing that she will be there to care for him, feed him, and play with him. Thank you so much, Iva, for providing stellar care for my Shep!”

“Jesse was super flexible and took care of my baby with last minute notice! Knowing that he was getting attention and exercise from Jesse put this new dog mom at ease while being at work. Will definitely be a regular of Jesse’s clients!”

About: Active listening to every dog's body language helps me understand who they are and what they need, emotionally and physiologically. I can't wait to be friends with your dog, too! I'm in between professional jobs right now so I have plenty of time to walk your pooch! Happy to help my fellow dog parents while I have the time Bonding through listening to body language is a must for me. I believe other animals can express consent about entering their personal space, too. I'd never play and pounce on a skittish furry friend.

“Dionie was amazing. He went above and beyond with our pup Charlie and was extremely flexible/communicative. All instructions were followed and Dionie left my place secure and exactly as instructed. He is very trustworthy and Charlie is looking forward to many more walks in the future! Thanks Dionie!”

“Anna was so kind, communicative and easy to work with on Rover! She was super reliable and responsive and sent fantastic updates. She went above and beyond in making sure the dogs were safe and well-taken care of during and after their walks. My dogs looked so happy and were well-loved by her. It’s clear she loves dogs, I would definitely book again!”

About: I’ve been caring for friends’ and family members’ pets for years, and it’s always felt like second nature. Whether it’s walking, feeding, or just keeping them company, I genuinely enjoy being around animals. Pets tend to warm up to me quickly, and it’s always a great feeling when they get excited to see me again. I’ve cared for dogs and cats of all ages — from playful puppies to senior pets — including those with medical conditions that require daily medication or special attention. I’m physically active and spend a lot of time at the park, which makes it easy to incorporate fun and exercise into the pets’ routines. My goal is always to make them feel safe, happy, and loved while you’re away. Pet care fits into my daily or weekly routine pretty naturally. I usually plan around feeding times, walks, and any special instructions the owner gives me. Even though I started doing it to earn extra money, I’ve actually come to enjoy the time I spend with the pets. It gives me a break from my own routine and adds some structure to my day. Plus, it’s rewarding to know the animals are happy and being well cared for I follow whatever routine the pet is used to — feeding, walks, playtime, and any special instructions from the owner. Whether I’m in my home or theirs, I try to make the pet feel safe, comfortable, and cared for.

About: I’ve been caring for animals my entire life, starting with cats as a child and expanding to both cats and dogs as an adult. My most recent dog, Annie, required special care due to her unique dietary needs and skin issues, which gave me valuable experience managing health and wellness routines for pets. For the past five years, I’ve also been providing pet sitting services for friends, ensuring their beloved animals are well cared for in their absence. I truly enjoy spending time with animals and take pride in offering thoughtful, personalized care for each pet’s unique needs. Working full-time from home allows me the flexibility to easily incorporate pet care into my daily routine. Since my senior dog passed away last summer, I’ve missed having pets in my life. While my husband and I aren’t quite ready to adopt another dog, I’d love the opportunity to care for and connect with others’ pets, providing them with the same love and dedication I gave to my own. Your pet’s safety and well-being are my top priorities. I have a clean, dog-proofed apartment on the first floor, with just one flight of stairs to navigate. Having owned a clever, food-motivated dog myself, I’ve made sure my home is free from any hazards or temptations. I live in a safe and peaceful part of the city, just one block away from Mountain Lake Park, which offers a large grassy area and a scenic walking path that I frequent. I understand how important it is to maintain a consistent routine, so I do my best to align with each owner’s preferred schedule. Whether it’s mealtime, walks, playtime, or cuddle sessions, I ensure that your pet feels secure, comfortable, and loved throughout their stay.

“Melissa has such an obvious love for dogs! I felt so comfortable with leaving June in her hands. She has experience spanning a lot of individual needs and I knew that June would be safe with her.”

Inner Richmond dog parents share their Rover experiences
Tyra was a pleasure to meet and Pumpkin warmed up to her immediately. Tyra took careful note of all instructions, and the dog walking must have gone quite smoothly since she and Pumpkin, who enjoys a long walk, went further than other dog walkers have done in a similar time. Highly recommended! I'll be happy to have Tyra come again.

Dave is such a gem! So lucky to have found him. He’s super reliable, friendly, and wonderful with my 2 yo black lab Izzy. He can even handle her leashed zoomies when they walk on the beach and loses her mind with happiness. I know Izzy loves Dave b/c she brings him a toy when he picks her up (her love language and something she only does with her favorite people). Highly recommend!

If you are looking for someone to take care of your dog look no further! This was my first time using Rover and Margot made the experience so great! She was kind, dependable, and treated my dog like her own. I really appreciated how responsible she was and how easy she made the whole process. I could relax knowing my pup was happy, safe, and well cared for.
