Hannah took wonderful care of our kitten and was always very responsive and attentive. We were nervous to leave a new pet behind, but Hannah eased all of our concerns and went above and beyond to care for our cat like her own. She was very knowledgeable and took initiative to solve any issue that came up. We are so grateful for Hannah’s care while we were away!!

Chris helped us out on a holiday weekend so we could enjoy our trip and knew our dogs were being cared for while we were away. Having someone come to our house made leaving and returning from our trip easy and she was flexible in case our flights changed, which is comforting these days.

Chelsea did a great job keeping me updated with pictures and messages during her checkin of my two cats. She was timely and spent the appropriate amount of time for the visits. She was also great about preparation before the visits, making sure she aware of all instructions/expectations and how things operated. Will definitely book again when needed!

About: I am very fun with animals but also very organized. I enjoy taking time to play and have fun with them but when things need to get done like taking them out to use the bathroom, eating, or taking a nap, I will be sure to complete those tasks aswell I will be moving away for college in early August and am taking a little time away from my job at Chick-fil-A to get ready for this new change. While taking time off, I would love to continue doing smaller jobs on the side. I think working with animals would be a perfect mix of fun and exciting! I love spending time playing with any animal to help them get tired and get a good sleep but I also love taking time to give the animal love and attention to make sure they are not bored or lonely.

Rachel did an amazing job taking care of our very large dog, Fred! 🐾 Not everyone is comfortable handling a big dog, but she was great with him and kept us updated while we were away. It gave us real peace of mind knowing Fred was in such good hands. We would absolutely recommend Rachel to anyone looking for a reliable and caring dog sitter. Thank you again!

About: Hi! I am a dog lover turned helper. I love all dogs. I volunteer dog walking and assisting with dog training at my local shelters. I’m a dog mom to a senior Chihuahua mix. I work from home so I’m able to give your dog lots of attention and I live in a neighborhood so I’m able to walk your dogs with a dog park about 10 minutes away. I work full-time from home so I am able to pet and walk the dog pretty much whenever necessary. I personally take my old dog out every three hours. I have a senior Chihuahua so I can give your pet the same love and attention that I give my own dog. I live in a two-story house so there are stairs, but since my dog is on the older side, I carry my dog down the stairs, so I’m very accustomed to seeing your dogs as well

About: My passion isn't just for people—it's for pets, too. I spend my days in HR, but my evenings are filled with walks, playtime, cuddles, and giving dogs the love and attention they deserve. I work in office full time so I am available for boarding every Friday after 4pm & all day Saturday. Daily care (drop-ins, walks, etc) after 4pm M-F and all day Saturday and Sunday. I have a 7 month old Aussiedoodle. We have plenty of space for another dog, a crate, playpen, bed. Many toys for the puppy to play with and a backyard for them to run around and potty. We go on daily walks and have play time.

About: Worked at a dog daycare & boarding center received hands‑on learning, accident‑prevention training, and daily communication with pet parents. I’ve cared for "pet pals" since age 22—through the Armed Forces, school, and every change in-between. My care has evolved, but three things are forever: safety, freedom, and the pursuit of snacks. I can bathe toy, small, and medium breeds, and I’ve just relocated! Life can be ruff, scheduling isn’t! LET'S MEET! Now accepting new clients/families. NOW OFFERING drop in visits for city professionals who can't get home, AND daily walks for work-at-home parents who need extra hands! Book at one-time visit or an energizing walk to break the ice! Jill of all Skills here! I’ll care for your best friend like he or she were my own! Understandably, animals can act out, make messes, or whine very loudly while their caregivers are away. They’ll feel right as rain with this Pet Pal checking in.

Sheyla was absolutely FANTASTIC! She went above and beyond in every way for taking care of my fur baby, Roxie. Not only did she take great care of Rox across nearly two weeks...she also spent her own money to buy my baby girl a toy and some extra treats. It's rare that you find someone that loves your pup like you do and takes care of them as well as you do. For that reason, you should DEFINITELY book with Sheyla if you get the chance. I wouldn't be surprised if her prices go up before long, because she did a great job and other people are going to be exceptionally pleased with her service. Would definitely book again! 11/10!

Norma has fed Marco and Lucy on two separate occasions. She has been very communicative and extremely helpful when the second time, we had a leak while out of town. She definitely went above and beyond, the second time, and the cats finally graced her with their presence. We will use Norma again in the future.

I can't say enough good things about Bree! Leaving my cat is always stressful, especially since she needs medication twice a day. But Bree was absolutely amazing. From the moment we met, I felt completely at ease. While I was away, Bree sent me regular updates and photos, which put my mind at ease. It was clear that she genuinely cared about Piper's well-being. More importantly, she administered Piper's medication perfectly, without any issues. I highly recommend bree to anyone looking for a reliable, caring, and experienced cat sitter. She went above and beyond, and I will definitely be using her services again in the future!

I am just so thrilled that I found Claire! She was amazing and this is the first time I have been able to travel without all this stress about my cats. I have 2 cats that need medication and Claire was able to handle them like a champ. She came twice a day and was always on time and did everything that I asked. I hope she will be available the next time we are out of town- she was wonderful!!

About: I was gifted a dog when I was younger that I grew up caring for up until she was older. Caring for her included washing, taking her to the groomers, and ensuring she had the best food and many toys to play with. At the end of the day, she was my dog and my responsibility to care for. I have always hung around pets due to my grandparents having dogs and my aunt & uncles owning cats & dogs. My friend has a cat that I will sometimes cat-sit when she is out of town. I currently am a student and have a mixture of online and in-person classes. So, when I am not at school I am studying, and I'm at home. I currently do not have any other job commitments at the moment. Caring for pets is essential for their well-being. I always ensure that my space brings a piece of comfort, safety, and playfulness. I will ensure they have plenty of potty breaks and walks to ensure no accidents and give them time to get their energy out before the night is over. If medication is needed, it is my essential duty to be on top of giving your pet the correct dose & at the correct time.

Jada took care of my 4 pets like they were her own. She went above and beyond to make sure they had company, and even stayed over a couple of nights a week so they could be loved up (of course as we agreed on). I 100% recommend her services! I will definitely be booking her again, I know I can trust not only my pets, but my home to her. Thanks Jada!

A pet sitter can provide focused care sessions, help your pet’s routine stay on track, or keep you updated on your pet’s mood and energy levels.

Whether you’re at the office for the day or traveling for a few nights, a pet sitter can offer potty breaks during a Harrisburg stroll, cleaning the litter box, or making sure your pet has on-time food or water refills. For daytime services like walking and drop-ins, you can also request sitters to send a report card with every visit.

Tip: You can discuss your specific arrangements with a pet sitter on Rover to what fits you, your pet, and your sitter’s needs. To find what their special skills are, look at the "Skills" and "Pet care experience" sections on their profile.

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Harrisburg choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

While Rover doesn’t offer traditional subscription services, some sitters offer recurring bookings for services like home visits and dog walking. Recurring services come with their own perks, such as flexibility to modify services (up to five weeks in advance), automatic billing, Rover Card updates, and same-day cancellations.

To find sitters in Harrisburg with recurring or weekly availability, select "Repeat Weekly" and which days you’d like them to care for your pet.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Harrisburg. On Rover:

  • 94% of sitters can help with special care needs
  • 97% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 98% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
