“Heather is awesome! She really helped us out in a pinch, and was so attentive to our puppy, and provided great photos and notes. We were able to relax during an otherwise very stressful time knowing he was well cared for.”

“Best communicator and picture provider thus far with all the sitters I’ve used from Rover. Mary was so careful and caring with my senior girl pup. Thank you for all you do!”

About: I’ve pet sit for neighbors for about 2 years now, and am particularly passionate about getting dogs the outdoor time and exercise they need. I love seeing how much joy and excitement it brings them. I work from home and typically take my own dog on 20-30 minute walks and want to extend the favor to those with less flexible schedules! I work full-time from home, so my schedule is extremely flexible! I am available during weekdays and weekends, and am usually up fairly early to take care of pups who need early-morning care! When caring for pets in my client’s home, I prefer to have detailed instructions so I can ensure care is provided properly. I also make it a top priority to leave the home the same, if not better, than I found it.
About: I have 5 years of pet care experience. I have experience in all kinds of pets, from check in to feedings, walks and clean up. I'm currently working part-time, so I'll have plenty of time to care your pets. Im available for walking, sitting and check ins all week and spontaneous scheduling as well. Keeping to their normal routine to minimize stress is one of my biggest priorities. Makes for a calmer happier pet as most get stressed being away from their parent.
About: I have been a dog lover for as long as I can remember and have had dogs for the majority of my life. I started caring for other people’s dogs when I was around 10 or 11 years old and have experience with dogs of all ages—from playful puppies to sweet senior pups. I currently have a two-year-old Boxer of my own who has plenty of energy, so I’m very comfortable keeping up with active dogs who love walks, playtime, and lots of attention! I also understand that every dog has their own personality, routine, and individual needs, and I’m happy to tailor my care to help your pup feel comfortable and loved. As a healthcare provider, caring for others comes naturally to me, and I bring that same level of compassion, attentiveness, and responsibility to caring for animals. I also have a very flexible schedule, which allows me to accommodate a variety of walking and care needs. I would love the opportunity to care for your sweet fur baby and give them plenty of love and attention while they’re in my care! I currently have a very open and flexible schedule, so I will have plenty of time for walking, playing, and caring for your sweet pup! I understand that every dog has their own personality, routine, and individual needs, and I’m happy to tailor my care to help your pup feel comfortable and loved. Whether that means specific walking trails, crating your pup if requested, playing with specific toys, etc.
“Eloise was awesome!! my cat Maple seemed happy and well taken care for when I returned! she gave great updates and sent lots of pictures! would definitely rebook in the future :)”

About: I've always loved animals, especially dogs! Growing up, I would sometimes take my next door neighbor's collie for walks or feed her when they were away. My schedule is flexible now and my husband and I would love a dog of our own one day, so I'd love to get some more pet experience. Thank you for considering me with your loved one(s)! I recently switched from full-time to part-time work, so I'm very flexible and available now! I might be available both weekdays and weekends - just depends on the week. I have a gentle presence when I come to your home to greet your dog - and if they're excited to play, then I am, too!
“Jamie did such a good job with our St Berdoodle. She did twice daily drop ins for two weeks straight and always provided top notch service. In fact I learned a few things from her on how to exercise my dog properly. She communicated very well and provided lots of pictures with her rover card reports. Highly recommended!”

About: I’ve taken care of dogs and cats ages 8 weeks to 18 years for the past 10 years, some for up to two weeks at a time. I am happy to take pets on walks and runs (even cats!), work on training skills, stop by for potty breaks and snuggles, read aloud to them, and administer medication if needed. I have experience with pets ranging in size from 2-150lbs and love them all the same — thumping tails and rumbling purrs make my heart sing! I work part-time as a museum assistant and translator, but my heart lies in providing top-quality pet care. My schedule is self-determined, so I can flex to accommodate your pet’s needs! For overnight stays, I like to learn the pet’s existing routine and build my day around it to minimize any transitional stress for the animal. I believe that animals deserve just as much detailed attention as we do — this can look like relaxing brushing/grooming after a long day, regular outings in nature, daily movement (be it walks and/or play), adequate food intake, and comforting cuddles.

About: I’ve had many pet-sitting jobs and personal experience with my own pets. I owned a dog for 12 years and I’ve owned cats all my life. I have cared for both dogs and cats with health issues requiring medication and even IV drips. I’m very versatile! I’m working an internship at the moment that is 20 hours a week, so I will have to work around that schedule as it is fixed weekly! Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays I have off, but we can always discuss any other weekdays to see if I can fit pet care around my meetings! I don’t have space to care for someone’s pet at my own home, but I am very caring and respectful of any person’s home that I enter to care for their pets. I always leave everything better than I left it! Rest assured you won’t come home to any messes left by animal OR human!

About: I’ve been caring for animals professionally for over 8 years and grew up surrounded by pets, so working with animals has always been a big part of my life. I have hands-on experience from working at an animal shelter/sanctuary, a local pet store, and in a veterinary clinic as a vet tech assistant. Through these roles, I’ve worked with pets of all sizes, ages, and temperaments, including shy, high-energy, and senior pets. I’m comfortable with feeding routines, administering medications, cleaning, and recognizing signs of stress or illness. My background in a vet clinic has also helped me stay calm in unexpected situations and prioritize safety. I truly enjoy spending time with animals and making sure they feel comfortable, safe, and cared for while their owners are away. I’m currently a student at Davidson College in North Carolina, so during the school year my schedule is structured around classes. Being away from my own pets honestly makes me miss them a lot, which is why I love spending time caring for other people’s animals, it really makes me happy to have them around. I’m available for visits, walks, and sitting around my class schedule and have flexibility in the mornings, afternoons, evenings, and weekends. During the summer, I’m available full-time, so I have plenty of time and attention to give your family! Your pet’s safety and comfort are always my top priorities. I’m very attentive, patient, and respectful of each animal’s unique personality and needs. With my background working in a vet clinic, shelter, and pet store, I’m comfortable handling a variety of situations and can recognize signs of stress or illness. I always follow your instructions closely, whether that’s feeding routines, medications, or specific care preferences. I create a calm, loving environment and make sure your pet feels safe, cared for, and at home while you’re away.
About: Hi there! I’ve loved dogs for as long as I can remember — they’ve always been a part of my life. Right now, I have a three-year-old mini Bernedoodle named Hopper who’s full of love and always ready to make a new friend! I work from home, so your dog will get tons of attention, playtime, and care all day long. I love getting outside for walks (they’re the best part of my day!) and just hanging out with dogs, making sure they feel happy, loved, and safe. Your pup’s health and happiness are my #1 priority. I’ll also make sure they get the right amount of exercise, follow any special routines, and, of course, give them all the cuddles they want. I spent 10 years volunteering at animal shelters, walking and socializing dogs of all sizes and personalities — from the super social to the extra shy. Every dog deserves love, patience, and lots of care, and that’s exactly what I’m here to give! I can’t wait to meet your pup and treat them like part of the family! I work from home and am always taking care of my dog and would love to take care of yours too. It fits perfectly into my daily life. I follow all feeding and walking instructions and make sure all dogs get enough exercise (or sleep!). My top priority is health and following directions.
“When we came home our cat was happy and relaxed which made me happy because I know he was well cared for. Braxton kept in touch while we were away so we didn’t worry about his care. We will reach out for cat sitting services from Braxton again!”

“Gabby was a wonderful cat sitter who was timely, flexible and always sent pictures with thorough updates. It was clear the kitties felt very comfortable with her! I will definitely be using Gabby again!”

About: I have grown up around dogs my whole life! I grew up with 2 labs and then later on adopted 2 beautiful huskies. Over time I have learned that every dog has a unique personality, energy level, and routine, so I take the time to get to know each one and provide care that's tailored to their needs. I'm comfortable with administering oral medications when needed, maintaining feeding and exercise schedules, and providing plenty of love! I also keep pet parents informed with regular updates, photos, and messages so they can feel confident their dog is happy and safe while they're away. I currently work part time for a coffee shop. I mainly work afternoons so I’ll be able to visit your babies once to twice in the morning/ early afternoon and then again in the evening when I get off! I currently live in an apartment with a small dog and a cat. We keep doors locked/ closed to prevent the cat from slipping out. I take out my small dog regularly for potty breaks and walks around the neighborhood. We use our dog park to let our dog interact with others. They both get lots of interaction and have so so many toys!

Dog parents share their Rover experiences - Davidson
Makenna was wonderful. She was a good communicator, responsible and punctual. The many pictures she sent reassured us that our doggies were happy and well-cared for. We were gone for a week, and our dogs missed us and we missed them, but Makenna was so great with them -- playing with them and showing lots of affection -- that we all did well.

Lily took great care of my dog! She arrived on time, communicated well throughout the visit, and was very flexible and accommodating when I made a mistake with my booking. I really appreciated her understanding and felt comfortable knowing my dog was in good hands. Overall, I was very happy with the experience and would definitely book with her again!
Renee did another amazing job with our dog Lilly. She can be a handful and Renee knows exactly how to care for her and was even able to give her eye drops which I didn’t think would be possible. She is so caring and loving. It warms my heart to see the love and attention she gives to Lilly while we are away.

Skyler was absolutely wonderful! Her communication was phenomenal from start to finish, which gave me so much peace of mind while we were away. She took such incredible care of Cash and Presley—keeping them active, happy, and clearly so well loved. Her photos were awesome - I really enjoyed seeing our boys have so much fun. We’re so thankful to have found another trusted sitter for our boys and will absolutely be booking with Skyler again. Highly, highly recommend!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone.
