“Brendan did two drop in visits for my two dogs and I have nothing but good things to say about our experience. He’s punctual, great communication, and follows all of my annoying instructions. He does well with both my senior dog and my younger anxious dog, leaving us with happy pups when we get home. We are booking him again for our week long vacation in August.”

“Heather has simply been amazing for Coa and our family as a whole. We are very blessed to have met Heather. She genuinely loves Coa and has his best interest in mind. Thank you Heather for the toys and tips!!!!”

About: I’ve pet sit for neighbors for about 2 years now, and am particularly passionate about getting dogs the outdoor time and exercise they need. I love seeing how much joy and excitement it brings them. I work from home and typically take my own dog on 20-30 minute walks and want to extend the favor to those with less flexible schedules! I work full-time from home, so my schedule is extremely flexible! I am available during weekdays and weekends, and am usually up fairly early to take care of pups who need early-morning care! When caring for pets in my client’s home, I prefer to have detailed instructions so I can ensure care is provided properly. I also make it a top priority to leave the home the same, if not better, than I found it.
About: Flexible schedule and lots of experience with dogs & cats of all ages. Reliable, professional and caring. Pets all have their own personalities and I’ll take the time to get to know yours. For visits in your home I can also provide services such as bringing in the mail, watering plants, etc. Goal is to have repeat clients who can depend on us. Hope to meet you and your pet soon! Flexible hours and work from home. Plenty of time and the ability to adjust to your pet’s schedule/needs. Can help with medication if needed also. Lots of loving attention and playtime. Can provide pick up and drop off also. Condo home on the first floor with green space. Central Cornelius.
“Casey did great, went out of town to visit family and was worried about my dogs being taken care of. He was prompt with great communication. I definitely recommend and will use again.”

About: Hello! My name is Allie Hochman, and I am a lifelong animal lover! I grew up in Davidson and began working with animals since I was a little girl! In college, I started my professional training journey and have since had the opportunity to work with a wide variety of animals including guide and service dogs, working dogs, and family fur babies! My pittie, Pete, has been my partner in crime since I adopted him in 2020. He became my training partner and still helps from time to time, although these days, he much prefers his spoiled couch-dog lifestyle! I am passionate about helping people and their furry family members build strong, happy relationships and live life to the fullest. Whether your pet needs a drop-in visit, a fun walk, or help with training, I would love to help. I am also happy to assist with medication when needed, with a conversation beforehand to ensure I understand your pet’s needs and instructions. I know how important it is to find someone you can trust with your pets, and I strive to provide them with the same care, patience, and attention I would want for my own. I look forward to meeting you and your furry family members! Allie Currently, I am available on Sundays and Mondays. Tuesday through Saturday, I am available at 5pm and later. I am in the process of building up more availability! Please don’t be afraid to ask if I am available outside of the times given above. I always like to meet potential clients prior to our first appointment. We can set this up through rover. I want to make sure your pup is comfortable and is familiar with me as well as meet you and discuss what you are looking for in a sitter / walker / trainer! I utilize positive reinforcement. So, if your pup has a favorite toy or treat I will make sure I have it noted and include it in my visits! We will discuss you and your pup’s needs through rover and at our in person meeting. I always treat everyone with respect and kindness. This extends to your home, pets, and belongings.
About: I grew up surrounded by pets and have loved animals for as long as I can remember. Over the years, I’ve raised my own dogs and cared for family and friends pets of all shapes, sizes, and personalities. When your dog is with me, they get the same safety, attention, and love I gave my own. I work from home, so your pup would never be alone I am currently working from home. This helps with being able to play and walk your dog. I would take them plenty of walks throughout the day. I can also help on select weekends if given notice. Whether cruising along local greenways or enjoying off-leash fun at the neighborhood dog park, our tailored walking services give your dog the perfect mix of exercise, fresh air, and social play. I will treat your pup with the utmost care, sticking strictly to their familiar routines so they stay happy, safe, and energized every single day.
About: I've always loved animals, especially dogs! Growing up, I would sometimes take my next door neighbor's collie for walks or feed her when they were away. My schedule is flexible now and my husband and I would love a dog of our own one day, so I'd love to get some more pet experience. Thank you for considering me with your loved one(s)! I recently switched from full-time to part-time work, so I'm very flexible and available now! I might be available both weekdays and weekends - just depends on the week. I have a gentle presence when I come to your home to greet your dog - and if they're excited to play, then I am, too!
“Katy has been absolutely amazing!!! Our girls don’t do well with us gone, normally eating very little and significantly less active. For the first time in years, they continued the regular routine without us there! THANK YOU!!!!”

About: Young, old, big, small, I love them all! I’m new to Rover, but I've owned lots of dogs throughout my life, and I've been trusted to care for other owners' fur babies for over 10 years. I strive to make sure that both you and your dog are comfortable while they're in my care in the Cornelius and Huntersville area. I have experience with anxiety, reactivity, and other various temperaments in dogs of all sizes and ages. As someone who has an anxious dog, I can empathize and understand the level of support that each individual dog needs. If you have training that you're working on or they require a certain routine, I can accommodate those needs to the best of my ability as well. I also send updates during the booking to set your mind at ease and keep you in the know. ***Please be aware that indoor playtime with an outdoor potty break may be substituted for dog walking depending on outdoor temperatures to protect paw pads from the heat or ice. Think I'd be a good fit? Let's set up a meet and greet! This will give us a chance to go over any specific details or preferences for the booking, while also ensuring that you and your dog are comfortable. I can't wait to meet you and your furry family member! I currently work full time during the day, but my evenings and weekends are pretty flexible! I'm located in the Cornelius and Huntersville area of Lake Norman. My approach to caring for your dog in your home is all about routine and patience. If they have a treat they love, a crate they have to sleep in, or any specific need or preference, let's go over the details at the meet and greet!
“Awesome communication and the photos she sent were the highlight of our trip! She really got to know our pets and their routines. She did great walks with our doggy too! If she’s available, book her immediately, you (and your pets) will be super happy!”

About: I’ve been caring for animals professionally for over 8 years and grew up surrounded by pets, so working with animals has always been a big part of my life. I have hands-on experience from working at an animal shelter/sanctuary, a local pet store, and in a veterinary clinic as a vet tech assistant. Through these roles, I’ve worked with pets of all sizes, ages, and temperaments, including shy, high-energy, and senior pets. I’m comfortable with feeding routines, administering medications, cleaning, and recognizing signs of stress or illness. My background in a vet clinic has also helped me stay calm in unexpected situations and prioritize safety. I truly enjoy spending time with animals and making sure they feel comfortable, safe, and cared for while their owners are away. I’m currently a student at Davidson College in North Carolina, so during the school year my schedule is structured around classes. Being away from my own pets honestly makes me miss them a lot, which is why I love spending time caring for other people’s animals, it really makes me happy to have them around. I’m available for visits, walks, and sitting around my class schedule and have flexibility in the mornings, afternoons, evenings, and weekends. During the summer, I’m available full-time, so I have plenty of time and attention to give your family! Your pet’s safety and comfort are always my top priorities. I’m very attentive, patient, and respectful of each animal’s unique personality and needs. With my background working in a vet clinic, shelter, and pet store, I’m comfortable handling a variety of situations and can recognize signs of stress or illness. I always follow your instructions closely, whether that’s feeding routines, medications, or specific care preferences. I create a calm, loving environment and make sure your pet feels safe, cared for, and at home while you’re away.
About: I’ve always been someone that animals naturally warm up to because I’m calm, patient, attentive, and consistent. I understand that every pet has a different personality and comfort level, and I take the time to make sure they feel safe, comfortable, and cared for while you’re away. My background has taught me the importance of routines, observation, patience, and communication, which translates really well into caring for pets with different temperaments and needs. I’m comfortable with energetic dogs, shy pets, senior animals who need a gentler pace, and pets who may need extra reassurance or structure. I pay close attention to details like feeding schedules, medications, exercise needs, and behavior changes, and I’ll always keep you updated with photos and messages so you feel connected and reassured while your pet is in my care. Whether your pet loves long walks, playtime, cuddles, or simply having calm company around, I’ll make sure they receive reliable, loving, and personalized care. Pet care fits naturally into my daily and weekly routine because I genuinely enjoy spending time with animals and making sure they feel comfortable, safe, and cared for. I plan my schedule carefully so pets receive consistent attention, walks, feeding, playtime, bathroom breaks, and companionship without feeling rushed. I’m flexible with mornings, evenings, weekends, and check-ins throughout the day when needed. In both my home and a client’s home, I focus on creating a calm, clean, and secure environment. I carefully follow each pet’s routine, including feeding schedules, medications, exercise, and any special instructions. I pay close attention to behavior and body language so I can quickly notice if something seems off or if a pet needs extra comfort or patience. Safety and trust are extremely important to me. I make sure doors, gates, leashes, and feeding areas are secure at all times, and I always keep pets supervised during walks, outdoor time, and interactions. I also provide regular updates, photos, and communication so owners feel reassured and connected while their pets are in my care.
About: I am a very detail-orientated person. Any pup I sit for I make sure to recognize theirs behaviors and needs and adjust my typical routine for them. This ensures they’re comfortable with me and have a great experience while their family is away! I am a student, so my schedule is pretty flexible. I like to dogsit between classes or on weekends. Since I can’t have dogs at my apartment here at school being able to take care of yours is amazing. Any time I can spend with dogs serves as a tremendous street relief for me as well! When I care for pets I aim to keep everything as normal and possible and stick to their already established schedule. This allows the dog to feel more comfortable considering the family is gone. I am open to walks, play time or anything else that your dog enjoys!

Dog parents share their Rover experiences - Cornelius
Makenna was wonderful. She was a good communicator, responsible and punctual. The many pictures she sent reassured us that our doggies were happy and well-cared for. We were gone for a week, and our dogs missed us and we missed them, but Makenna was so great with them -- playing with them and showing lots of affection -- that we all did well.

Lily took great care of my dog! She arrived on time, communicated well throughout the visit, and was very flexible and accommodating when I made a mistake with my booking. I really appreciated her understanding and felt comfortable knowing my dog was in good hands. Overall, I was very happy with the experience and would definitely book with her again!
Renee did another amazing job with our dog Lilly. She can be a handful and Renee knows exactly how to care for her and was even able to give her eye drops which I didn’t think would be possible. She is so caring and loving. It warms my heart to see the love and attention she gives to Lilly while we are away.

A great experience! My dog has limited vision and required several different medications including insulin injections with meals so I was a little nervous about using a dog sitter. Joe and Christine took care of all of it beautifully with daily visits to my home as well as some play and walk time. What peace of mind I now have knowing I can leave my precious dog’s care to them! I will definitely use them again!

Skyler was absolutely wonderful! Her communication was phenomenal from start to finish, which gave me so much peace of mind while we were away. She took such incredible care of Cash and Presley—keeping them active, happy, and clearly so well loved. Her photos were awesome - I really enjoyed seeing our boys have so much fun. We’re so thankful to have found another trusted sitter for our boys and will absolutely be booking with Skyler again. Highly, highly recommend!

Marcia rescued us. We had a last minute need for a dog sitter and Marcia came through! Our pups really liked her. We received pics of our dogs with every visit along with an update on their behavior. We were really relieved to have our babes in such capable hands.

Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone.
