“Karley was absolutely wonderful - dropped in and fed my dogs for a week while I was on vacation. She even brought in my packages and helped when I had a roofing leak. Thanks for everything Karley! Will definitely hire again.”

“We were extremely happy with Katelyn, and the dogs were too! During our meet & greet both dogs went up to her, wagging their tails like she was family. She got them to pose for pictures, which was amazing. They’ve both camera shy and even as an agility trainer I’ve had difficulty getting them to cooperate for family photos. Katelyn went over and above in every way.”

“Best communicator and picture provider thus far with all the sitters I’ve used from Rover. Mary was so careful and caring with my senior girl pup. Thank you for all you do!”

“Maura has taken care of my cats several times. She’s always done everything to give them the best care. I love that she sends pics almost every visit! Keeps my mind at ease that my pets are happy while I’m gone.”

“Aaliyah has been so amazing with my pup Olive! Olive warmed up to her right away and now we get the cutest pics of their time together from Aaliyah. She even made Olive a cute little bow as a gift. So thankful for how considerate Aaliyah has been!!”

“Nancy was extremely accommodating & a pleasure to deal with. We had lots of questions and she graciously answered every one of them without delay. Thank you Nancy for going above & beyond for us.”

“Caitlin O is an outstanding pet sitter! We have used her services multiple times for out two cats & they have adapted to her with ease. Caitlyn is reliable & really cares about our pets. She provides play time, outdoor time in their "catio" as well as takes care of all their essential needs each visit. We love the daily updates & pics/video's she sends us too! We think of Caitlin as our "cat whisperer". Thank-you Caitlin for all you do, we appreciate you! The O'Hara's, Tim & Val :)”

“Helen was a God send. She was so loving, caring and interactive with our dog. She went above and beyond to make sure not only was our dog taken care of but also our house. This was my first time leaving my dog with a person other than a family member or friend of the family since moving from NY to NC. I will definitely use Helen again I highly recommend her. Helen made me feel comfortable from start to finish and that my dog was in good hands. Thank you Helen.”

“Jennifer was amazing! She spared no efforts to go check on our kitties even with snow and ice on the roads. She was super diligent with posting photos and logging info. I would definitely recommend her!”
“A great experience! My dog has limited vision and required several different medications including insulin injections with meals so I was a little nervous about using a dog sitter. Joe and Christine took care of all of it beautifully with daily visits to my home as well as some play and walk time. What peace of mind I now have knowing I can leave my precious dog’s care to them! I will definitely use them again!”

About: I've always loved animals, especially dogs! Growing up, I would sometimes take my next door neighbor's collie for walks or feed her when they were away. My schedule is flexible now and my husband and I would love a dog of our own one day, so I'd love to get some more pet experience. Thank you for considering me with your loved one(s)! I recently switched from full-time to part-time work, so I'm very flexible and available now! I might be available both weekdays and weekends - just depends on the week. I have a gentle presence when I come to your home to greet your dog - and if they're excited to play, then I am, too!

“Stephanie did a wonderful job for us. I was worried about leaving our dog for ten days with someone I didn't know (this was my first time using Rover), and I could not be more happy. The report cards with comments and pictures were wonderful for my daughter, who was worried about her dog. I would use Rover, and Stephanie, again with no hesitation.”
About: I am a very detail-orientated person. Any pup I sit for I make sure to recognize theirs behaviors and needs and adjust my typical routine for them. This ensures they’re comfortable with me and have a great experience while their family is away! I am a student, so my schedule is pretty flexible. I like to dogsit between classes or on weekends. Since I can’t have dogs at my apartment here at school being able to take care of yours is amazing. Any time I can spend with dogs serves as a tremendous street relief for me as well! When I care for pets I aim to keep everything as normal and possible and stick to their already established schedule. This allows the dog to feel more comfortable considering the family is gone. I am open to walks, play time or anything else that your dog enjoys!
“Gabby was a wonderful cat sitter who was timely, flexible and always sent pictures with thorough updates. It was clear the kitties felt very comfortable with her! I will definitely be using Gabby again!”

Marcia is simply the best—there’s a reason we keep coming back to her again and again. Finding someone you trust with your pets (and your home) is no small thing, and with Marcia, that trust comes easily. She is reliable, attentive, and genuinely caring, and it shows in every interaction.

Jessica is great. I have two cats and one of them is very shy and the other one is outgoing. They both loved her and I loved that in one of Jessica’s pictures. She actually got a picture of my shy cat rubbing up against her.😻 my cats are very good at judging good people

Sherry took care of our little kitty INCREDIBLY! Our kitty was struggling with a sickness and needed some additional support with wiping her nose and Sherry was more than happy to take care of her needs and she gave us consistent updates on our kitty’s symptoms while we were away. We couldn’t have asked for a better cat sitter 😊

Cat sitters on Rover care for your cats’ needs and can spend quality time with them, including activities like feeding, playing, and refreshing their water and litter boxes. Depending on your arrangement, you can schedule as many visits per day as your cat needs or find a sitter who can stay at your house overnight. Some sitters also board cats in their home.
House sitting can be ideal for cats who need socialization or care that lasts longer than a few hours. Your cat stays in their own home, on their own schedule, with care based on what you and your sitter agree on together.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Cornelius. On Rover:

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
