“Aaliyah is absolutely phenomenal with both of my pups. I have an old man (15yrs), and a young pup (4mos), so it is no easy task! She loves on both of my boys equally, sends me the cutest photos throughout the day, and keeps a close eye on any potential health issues for my senior guy. She goes above and beyond to make sure the dogs are happy, and I couldn’t be more grateful for it. The boys are always so calm and happy when I get home on days that she has stopped in to care for them. I couldn’t recommend her more!”

“We are moving and so sad to lose our most trusted sitter for our fur fam! Caitlin is a gem and will love your babies so good! Thank you so much for the peace of mind this past year girl! You are the very best♥️”

“Casey did great, went out of town to visit family and was worried about my dogs being taken care of. He was prompt with great communication. I definitely recommend and will use again.”

“Nicolle is amazing and so sweet! She took care of my sweet little Corgi Tinkles while I went out of town for the weekend. She checked in with me everyday and sent pictures! I would highly recommend her services to anyone in need of a sitter for their furry pet. I will be booking her again in the future!”

About: I’ve had many pet-sitting jobs and personal experience with my own pets. I owned a dog for 12 years and I’ve owned cats all my life. I have cared for both dogs and cats with health issues requiring medication and even IV drips. I’m very versatile! I’m working an internship at the moment that is 20 hours a week, so I will have to work around that schedule as it is fixed weekly! Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays I have off, but we can always discuss any other weekdays to see if I can fit pet care around my meetings! I don’t have space to care for someone’s pet at my own home, but I am very caring and respectful of any person’s home that I enter to care for their pets. I always leave everything better than I left it! Rest assured you won’t come home to any messes left by animal OR human!
About: Pet care is my full time job, so I have open availability! I am also a proud owner of a fully trained German Shepard. I’m open to doing dog walking/playtime, day sitting and overnights! I’m a full time student graduating in criminal justice with bachelor degree this coming summer 2027 who is responsible and dependable. All prices are negotiable depending on the needs. I’ve been a pet lover and caretaker since I was 10 years old. I’m 22 yrs old now and a proud owner of a 5 yr old German Shepherd who is fully trained. I believe all animals deserve one on one attention, care, & Love. I care for pets by making sure their basic needs are met first. Along with assuring each pet is happy and are enjoying their time with me. So much that I want them to be excited with just hearing my name. Whether in my home or at a clients home I follow any specific care instructions, maintain a clean space and provide consistent attentions, love and care to help pets feel safe and happy in my presence.
“We can’t recommend Camilla enough! She took exceptional care of our four cats, ensuring each one received the attention, love, and care they needed. What truly impressed us was her meticulous note taking and dedication to following their specific diets, something that was incredibly important to us. Knowing she was handling their unique needs with such precision gave us complete peace of mind while we were away. Beyond her professionalism, Camilla is a true animal lover. Our cats, who can sometimes be a bit picky with new people, quickly warmed up to her, which speaks volumes! We came home to happy, well fed, and relaxed cats, along with a spotless home. If you’re looking for a responsible, detail oriented, and caring pet sitter, Camilla is the one to trust. We will definitely be booking her again!”

About: I’ve grown up with dogs my entire life and have such a love for them. I know that dogs are more than just pets-they are part of the family! My family has had basset hounds for my whole life, so I have seen and loved them at every stage of life. I’ve done my share of dog care for them, including walking, feeding, giving medicine, ear-care, and brushing fur (my dog’s personal favorite)! I have also taken care of friends’ dogs, ranging all sizes and ages, when they have been out of town as well! I’m currently a teacher on summer break so I have a pretty open schedule! I can be very flexible with what times I am needed and if you need me to be very specific at the times I take care of your pets I will absolutely do that-I know lots of doggos need or get used to certain times for care! If you let me know what areas for walking are at your home, I am happy to follow whatever route you normally go on or would like for them to-same if you have a neighborhood dog park! I’m very active so I’m happy to walk/run with them as far as they need! If you need assistance with my giving them food and/or medicine, just let me know where it is and how much to give and I am happy to do that!
“I would recommend Pam to anyone! She treated my babies like her own. She was so kind and communicative with us while we were away. She was on time and professional. Overall, if Pam needed anything from us we’d do it. Forever a customer. Awesome!!”

“Sarah was great taking care of my puppy, Harper! It was my first time using Rover and she made the process easy! Would recommend her to anyone looking for a break for their fur baby!”

“Ashley is amazing. Reliable, responsive, flexible, trustworthy and incredibly kind. She did drop in visits for us for a week while we were away and sent us updates, pictures and videos and made us feel so comfortable knowing our girls were being cared for. Will definitely book with her again!”

“Absolutely GREATEST! So sweet, so thoughtful and thorough! Felt so comfortable with LaJuan! My kitty is so scared but became BEST friends ❤️ thank you from the bottom of our hearts for making us feel that our babies were safe in your care. Will book again!”

About: I bring a diverse range of experience to animal care! I just left working with Guiding Eyes for the Blind as a Whelping Kennel Technician where I assisted broods with births and raise their babies with them until 6 weeks. I have years of hands-on wildlife rehabilitation, where I gained valuable skills in nurturing and caring for injured wildlife. In addition, I have seven years of experience in pet care and sitting, providing personalized attention and ensuring the well-being of pets in my care. I also have four years of expertise as a dog daycare and boarding specialist, where I learned how to manage multiple dogs, assess their individual needs, and create a safe, stimulating environment for them. I also spent about five months working as a Veterinary Technician Assistant, assisting with various medical procedures, providing animal care, and supporting veterinary staff in a clinical setting! This combination of experiences has given me a well-rounded understanding of animal behavior, health, and care (: I just moved back to NC so my schedule is wide open! I'd love to spend this free time caring for and enjoying the company of your pet! :) I ensure pets' safety by providing secure environments, proper supervision, and addressing their health and behavior needs. And of course, following any instructions you as a pet parent may give me. Keeping them safe and comfortable is my top priority!

Caitlin was very professional and reassuring for someone (me) who was very nervous about entrusting care of my 🐈's to a third party. Her experience will be obvious when you see her with your animals and is respectful of your space as well. Very flexible with her time. Yeah, there's no one else you'd possibly want.
I needed a sitter at the last minute for a family emergency and I found Sarah. She was such a nice sitter for my kitten. She made sure she was well taken care of and played with her and fed her. I wasn't sure how Hazel was going to react to a stranger coming in to our home for the first time, but she seemed to be just fine about it. I will definitely rebook Sarah again.

Kaitlyn did a perfect job looking after my kitties. She arrived promptly for our meet and greet and she kept me updated on how kitties were and sent photos of them too. Everything was perfect when I got home. I will ask Kaitlyn to look after Fey and Willow again when I’m away next and I highly recommend her!

Cat sitters on Rover care for your cats’ needs and can spend quality time with them, including activities like feeding, playing, and refreshing their water and litter boxes. Depending on your arrangement, you can schedule as many visits per day as your cat needs or find a sitter who can stay at your house overnight. Some sitters also board cats in their home.
House sitting can be ideal for cats who need socialization or care that lasts longer than a few hours. Your cat stays in their own home, on their own schedule, with care based on what you and your sitter agree on together.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Mayhew. On Rover:

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
