“My pup had the best time with Nancy, Coffee & family. The fenced in yard was great for her to run around off leash & I felt very comfortable leaving Winnie in Nancy’s care. Winnie played fetch & even received a special treat. Nancy’s family is very friendly & Winnie is excited about her next visit!! Well.. after her long nap! Haha.”

“My Winston absolutely loves it at Kim’s house! He just struts right in like he owns the place. Her pups couldn’t be any sweeter & we feel so lucky we found her . Thanks Rover for making this so easy.”

About: I’ve always been someone that animals naturally warm up to because I’m calm, patient, attentive, and consistent. I understand that every pet has a different personality and comfort level, and I take the time to make sure they feel safe, comfortable, and cared for while you’re away. My background has taught me the importance of routines, observation, patience, and communication, which translates really well into caring for pets with different temperaments and needs. I’m comfortable with energetic dogs, shy pets, senior animals who need a gentler pace, and pets who may need extra reassurance or structure. I pay close attention to details like feeding schedules, medications, exercise needs, and behavior changes, and I’ll always keep you updated with photos and messages so you feel connected and reassured while your pet is in my care. Whether your pet loves long walks, playtime, cuddles, or simply having calm company around, I’ll make sure they receive reliable, loving, and personalized care. Pet care fits naturally into my daily and weekly routine because I genuinely enjoy spending time with animals and making sure they feel comfortable, safe, and cared for. I plan my schedule carefully so pets receive consistent attention, walks, feeding, playtime, bathroom breaks, and companionship without feeling rushed. I’m flexible with mornings, evenings, weekends, and check-ins throughout the day when needed. In both my home and a client’s home, I focus on creating a calm, clean, and secure environment. I carefully follow each pet’s routine, including feeding schedules, medications, exercise, and any special instructions. I pay close attention to behavior and body language so I can quickly notice if something seems off or if a pet needs extra comfort or patience. Safety and trust are extremely important to me. I make sure doors, gates, leashes, and feeding areas are secure at all times, and I always keep pets supervised during walks, outdoor time, and interactions. I also provide regular updates, photos, and communication so owners feel reassured and connected while their pets are in my care.
“Carol is the best. I requested in the last minute to watch my dog. I forgot vaccines record, yet she agreed to look after my Bentley. She is very kind and helpful. Though for few hours, she keeps updating me about Bentley. My dog settled with her very well and he was very happy after coming from her home. Thank you so much, Carol. I will highly recommend her if anyone looking for day care for you fur babies. I will definitely rebook with her in the future.”

About: I'm an active, work from home dog (and people) dad with a fenced yard and breaks throughout the day to get all the two- and four-legged steps in. Happy to open our home to a few new furry friends to compliment our Aussie/Beagle mix and Jack Russell mix. We have a clean, smoke free home properly appointed for dogs with a fenced back yard and another Rover approved adult (my wife) as a work from home dog (and people!) mom too. Access to nearby greenways and a nice suburban neighborhood for all the walks and maybe an occasional run or two if your pup is up for it. I am a strategic business consultant with long blocks of uncommitted time throughout the day where I can provide walks and entertainment for your pup. Dogs are welcome to be my work buddies in our finished mother-in-law suite turned into an office above the garage. Ample access to the fenced backyard and a couple of built in playmates with our well-mannered Aussie/Beagle and Jack Russell mixes. We have a fenced yard with a doggie door leading from the main home. Dogs will also be restricted to the first floor of our home (no steps required for entry!) which is properly set up for pet care as we have 2 dogs of our own. My wife (also a Rover approved sitter) and I both work from home and are active people who love taking walks throughout the day. Clean, smoke-free home and happy to make reasonable accommodations for your pet upon request Just ask!

I tend to do some traveling but also have much free time on my hands when I am at home. My two dogs at home are fully potty trained. I am comfortable taking them out on leashes, cleaning up after them, and crating them if needed.

About: I’ve watched and handled dogs for over a decade, and have the experience and strength to control large or energetic pets. I keep extensive notes on medical needs, diet, commands, and personality quirks for all the pets I watch so I can be sure they get the best care possible. I work part time, but my schedule is fairly flexible. I have a car and can travel to your home to watch and walk your pet, or take you pet to my home (as long as your dog is ok with other dogs). I live in a a fairly calm neighborhood with lots of sidewalks and grassy to take your pets to, and can walk your pet multiple times per day. “We booked time with Jeremy from Boston for a trip to Mooresville. He was great! We had a good feeling about jeremy before we even met him! He has a lovely home & yard. Was great with communication before, during & after. Highly recommend. Thx Jeremy. We loved his dog too!”

About: I’ve cared for pets professionally and personally for years, with experience looking after up to two dogs at a time and as many as five cats in one home. I’m comfortable with a variety of personalities and needs—from energetic puppies to shy or senior cats. I adapt quickly to routines, understand animal body language well, and always prioritize calm, attentive care. My goal is to keep pets happy, safe, and stress-free in your absence. Pet care fits naturally into my daily routine. I structure my mornings and evenings around feeding, walks, and playtime. I’m flexible during the day for check-ins, medication, or just a little extra attention if your pet needs it. I’m available most weekdays, weekends, and holidays, and I treat every visit as an important responsibility. I’m committed to providing a clean, calm, and safe space—whether I’m in your home or mine. I follow your pet’s routine closely, including feeding, exercise, and any special needs. When walking dogs, I use secure harnesses and avoid crowded or overstimulating areas. I never leave pets unsupervised in unsafe situations and am always alert to their needs and surroundings. Building trust through consistency and care is my priority.
About: I also invite friends that don’t have fenced in backyards to bring their small dogs to play in our fenced in backyard. No charge! Love small dogs. So sad that our last dog, a Cavalier passed away recently. I am home almost all the time. Dogs are never alone. I would treat them as lovingly as we have treated our deceased dogs. Cuddling with dogs is good therapy for them and us humans. We so miss all of our previous dogs. :( I am also experienced with dogs with disabilities such as totally blind and deaf. I am almost always home so pets are never home alone. We were so saddened by the recent death of our beloved Cavalier. Working with Rover has given me more dogs to love and cuddle. We have a home with a fenced in backyard, I would treat every dog as if it were my own. Love to take dogs on walks and play with them in the house and outside.
“Today was Willow’s first full day with Michele and she came home happy and tired from 2 walks and plenty of playtime. She’s ready to do it all over again tomorrow!”

Dog parents share their Rover experiences - Cornelius
Drew has been so great with my rescue! He’s usually really afraid of new people and Drew offered to do 2 meet & greets to make sure everyone felt comfortable. Drew & Dani have been super flexible, they keep me updated often, and are really patient with him. I highly recommend and will definitely continue booking with them!

Nancy was absolutely wonderful! She graciously accepted my VERY last minute booking request, was easy to communicate/coordinate with, and a breeze for drop off and pick up. She was just what Mandy needed as we train her separation anxiety. I loved the pictures she sent of their time together. Was very nice to know my pup was in safe, loving hands! And her backyard looks like a dog’s paradise which was perfect for Mandy’s addiction to ball throwing!!

This was Ace’s first daycare visit with Michael and his doggie, Nala! Michael sent me pictures and updates throughout the day and Ace was very content! He ate very well with Michael and actually did not want to leave him when I picked him up! We will def be back and I highly recommend Michael for your pet’s future stays!

Think of doggy day care as your dog’s fun, supervised play date that happens to fit into your workday. Day care through Rover takes place in a real home. This offers a calmer and more personalized environment for your pup.
A typical day can include companionship, one-on-one attention, and same day pick-up and drop-off. Many sitters can also offer structured routines and exercise throughout the day. For recurring, weekly day care, sitters will include photo updates so you can see your dog in their element.
Here are tips for finding the ideal day care fit for your dog:
- For some small dogs: In-home day care can be the perfect fit. Look for sitters whose "can host" section only lists dogs weighing 0–7 kilograms and/or 7–18 kilograms. During your Meet & Greet, ask about play areas based on dog size and energy level.
- For high-energy dogs: The ideal doggy day care can offer scheduled breaks and outdoor spaces or activities. You can also find sitters who host multiple dogs to satisfy your pup’s socializing needs.
- For dogs who prefer human-only companionship: Use the filters "Doesn't own a dog" and "Only accepts one pet at a time" to find the right care.
Play groups can be an option when you book with a day care sitter through Rover. Many sitters do host a small number of dogs at the same time. Smaller dog packs are generally safer, more fun, and ideal for dogs who enjoy playtime but also want to relax throughout the day. When looking for your dog’s pack, check the sitter’s profile to see if they "Accept multiple clients" or have their own dogs. Then during the Meet & Greet, you can see whether your dog is a good fit for their social circle!
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in NC ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
