About: I have been fostering dogs for 3 years for the Miami Dade Shelter. I fed, cared for, walked, groomed, and administered medicine to dogs who were in my care for 2 weeks to a month and a half. For one year, I volunteered at an Emergency Animal Clinic and learned a variety of skills that aid me in providing the best care for cats and dogs. I groomed dogs, administered vaccines, etc. I have extensive experience in caring for dogs and cats, and love to do so as well. I have owned both for years and never had a moment where I did not enjoy it. I will take care of any animal with attention and love, and commit to any task that is needed I am a pet owner of two dogs; one doberman and one very mixed dog. I give all my time, love, and attention to caring for not just my dogs but every dog I am caring for. I am home daily and make sure that caring for someone else’s pet is my top priority. I typically follow the rules of the owner whether it be in my home or their home. If your pet is not allowed on the furniture then I will not let them on mine. If your pet goes to the bathroom every 3 hours, then I will make sure to take them outside for a walk every 3 hours. I abide by the owners rules for the most effective consistency with behavior, while not forgetting to have fun and make it as enjoyable as I know I can.
“My Winston absolutely loves it at Kim’s house! He just struts right in like he owns the place. Her pups couldn’t be any sweeter & we feel so lucky we found her . Thanks Rover for making this so easy.”

“Jasmine took wonderful care of our dog during several daytime visits. She is highly knowledgeable about dogs, especially those with separation anxiety, and she knows exactly how to handle sensitive situations with calm confidence. Her communication is clear, consistent, and straightforward. She was also extremely accommodating, making sure we felt comfortable and reassured every step of the way. It was clear that our dog was in capable, caring hands. I highly recommend her for both pet sitting and training.”

“My pup had the best time with Nancy, Coffee & family. The fenced in yard was great for her to run around off leash & I felt very comfortable leaving Winnie in Nancy’s care. Winnie played fetch & even received a special treat. Nancy’s family is very friendly & Winnie is excited about her next visit!! Well.. after her long nap! Haha.”

“Bethany was very accommodating to my schedule working 12 hours shifts and the terrible traffic. Then the care she provided for my fur baby was amazing! I was so thankful for the pictures and text throughout the day. Grateful for her experience and understanding of high anxiety pups. Will definitely use her service’s again”

About: I love dogs and what they bring to our life! Your pup will hang out with a friendly and energetic 5-year old Golden Retriever, his name is Tango and he is great with other dogs! We have a large fenced in yard and we spend lots of time playing ball and chasing squirrels. I work from home and have plenty of time to take care of your pup. I only host one family at a time to make sure I give plenty of attention. I live in a neighborhood with lots of pet friendly walking areas. I have a large fenced in yard and pups are welcome in all living spaces at the house. They are allowed in beds and couches. If your pup is used to sleep in a crate, please bring it with you! For the safety of Tango and other dogs I do require a copy of vaccine records as well as flea, tick and heartworm preventive all being up-to-date.
About: Hi, I’m Sarah! Nice to meet you (and your fur babies)! A little background info on me: I've grown up with animals of all kinds, from dogs and cats to horses, rabbits, and peacocks and have loved to care for them. Although my background is with a variety of animals, dogs are my specialty! 🐾💜 I treat each and every pet like they’re my own and make sure they’re well taken care for, whether that means walking, play-time, feeding, enrichment, etc. I'm a current pet owner of two sweet dogs and one purr-fect cat. I’ve volunteered for years at rescues and shelters and have experience needed for any specific breed. I've fostered puppies and senior dogs until I myself became a foster fail (we adopted our foster)! I work a remote schedule so I can be flexible with days/hours if I have enough notice to care for your babies! I do not commit to specific time, but rather a time range. Short notice is possible, but I prefer at least a few days notice in advance :) I offer an approach that matches your pet’s energy. If your pet is playful, we will play. If your pet is shy & nervous, my approach will be more reserved and mindful of their boundaries.

I can accept last minute bookings whether you need short term or long term. I’m happy to help any way you & your pets need! I have a fenced in backyard, security cameras, and friendly neighbors with dogs of their own. Every dog is well behaved, and gets along nicely with my girls.
“Porter had a great time. The pictures with your comments throughout the day were so reassuring that she was in good hands and enjoying her stay. Thank you Kristen for your excellent care!”

About: I have taken care of my household dogs for over 20 years now. I joined the military in 2016 as a dog trainer and instantly fell in love with the profession. When I separated from the military in 2022, I continued to board pets as well as train dogs for private companies as well as for my business. This is my full time job, so it is not about how your pet fits into my schedule because my schedule revolves around your pets! I live in a 3 level home where I have one level dedicated to boarding and training. So it’s plenty of space to run around inside, or outside on my 1.3 acre lot. I will provide continuous updates and transparent communication.

About: "I bring positivity, patience, and love to every pet I care for. I make sure walks are fun, safe, and filled with treats and cuddles—because pets deserve the best!" "I integrate pet care into my routine by making sure every furry friend I watch gets dedicated time every day for walks, play, and companionship. I’m flexible with schedules and can adjust to the needs of each pet." I follow the instructions provided by the pet owner carefully. I ensure pets are fed, walked, and given plenty of attention and playtime. I keep their space clean, provide fresh water, and monitor their health and mood during every visit."
“Erin was great - we dropped 2 standard poodles off for the afternoon/evening while we went to spend Thanksgiving with family. The dogs came home happy and tired! Erin sent several photos of the dogs playing in the yard and that was appreciated. 5 stars good choice if you need a safe fun place for your dog(s) to hang out. Thanks Erin for tiring out two very active dogs.”

Sitters on Rover can offer flexible scheduling, so you can coordinate times that work best for you and your pet—whether that’s early drop-off or later pick-up to match your Lake Norman of Catawba commute.
If your schedule changes, it’s best to let your sitter know through the app as early as possible. Many sitters can adjust pick-up and drop-off times when needed.
Think of doggy day care as your dog’s fun, supervised play date that happens to fit into your workday. Day care through Rover takes place in a real home. This offers a calmer and more personalized environment for your pup.
A typical day can include companionship, one-on-one attention, and same day pick-up and drop-off. Many sitters can also offer structured routines and exercise throughout the day. For recurring, weekly day care, sitters will include photo updates so you can see your dog in their element.
Here are tips for finding the ideal day care fit for your dog:
- For some small dogs: In-home day care can be the perfect fit. Look for sitters whose "can host" section only lists dogs weighing 0–7 kilograms and/or 7–18 kilograms. During your Meet & Greet, ask about play areas based on dog size and energy level.
- For high-energy dogs: The ideal doggy day care can offer scheduled breaks and outdoor spaces or activities. You can also find sitters who host multiple dogs to satisfy your pup’s socializing needs.
- For dogs who prefer human-only companionship: Use the filters "Doesn't own a dog" and "Only accepts one pet at a time" to find the right care.
Play groups can be an option when you book with a day care sitter through Rover. Many sitters do host a small number of dogs at the same time. Smaller dog packs are generally safer, more fun, and ideal for dogs who enjoy playtime but also want to relax throughout the day. When looking for your dog’s pack, check the sitter’s profile to see if they "Accept multiple clients" or have their own dogs. Then during the Meet & Greet, you can see whether your dog is a good fit for their social circle!
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in NC ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
