Brad did a great job staying with our dog in our home. She is very new to our family (adopted < 2 weeks ago), so we were a little nervous leaving her overnight. Brad came in with confidence, brought all of his own supplies for his stay, and was great about sending us pictures to help us know Josie was doing just fine while we were away. He is a real pro at this!

Kayden was great! You can tell she has a way of getting pets to quickly get close with her. My pup Roman is battling isolation anxiety, and was very happy to have Kayden come by. Not only that, but she went above and beyond with updates and even keeping my house very tidy! She goes above and beyond. I am super grateful for her and will be rebooking :)

Katie took superior care of our senior dog who has a demanding schedule. She went above and beyond what was expected. Our home was in perfect order after our eight day trip. Katie is responsible, independent, and a professional, as well as having a natural talent for caring for animals. All we had to do was enjoy our vacation!

About: I’ve grown up with dogs my entire life and have such a love for them. I know that dogs are more than just pets-they are part of the family! My family has had basset hounds for my whole life, so I have seen and loved them at every stage of life. I’ve done my share of dog care for them, including walking, feeding, giving medicine, ear-care, and brushing fur (my dog’s personal favorite)! I have also taken care of friends’ dogs, ranging all sizes and ages, when they have been out of town as well! I’m currently a teacher on summer break so I have a pretty open schedule! I can be very flexible with what times I am needed and if you need me to be very specific at the times I take care of your pets I will absolutely do that-I know lots of doggos need or get used to certain times for care! If you let me know what areas for walking are at your home, I am happy to follow whatever route you normally go on or would like for them to-same if you have a neighborhood dog park! I’m very active so I’m happy to walk/run with them as far as they need! If you need assistance with my giving them food and/or medicine, just let me know where it is and how much to give and I am happy to do that!

About: I’ve spent my lifetime taking care of dogs. I grew up owning dogs and spend my free time volunteering at the local humane society. I have experience handling dogs of all sizes, ages, and breeds. At home, I have a 3 year old pit bull mix and a tiny 14 year old cockapoo. I’ve cared for puppies and young dogs, training them to walk nicely on a leash, ring a bell to go outside, and do simple tricks like sit, lay down, shake, and more. I enjoy spending time with animals and developing tailored care for all personalities. I work Wednesday’s and Thursday’s 8-4pm, but I am open all other days and hours outside of that. I’m available for drop ins, overnights, and for walks. It depends on the pets and their specific needs. I work with the owner making sure that the expectations are met and each pet gets the personalized care they need.

We couldn’t be happier with Jaime! She was absolutely amazing. Our dogs, Luna and Norman, adored her from the start, and it was clear they were well-loved and well-cared for while we were away. We came home to a spotless house — she even picked up the dog poop in the yard and washed the sheets she used, which went above and beyond our expectations. We will definitely be using Jaime again and highly recommend her to anyone looking for a reliable, thoughtful, and caring sitter!

About: 💖 Affordable, Loving Pet Care You Can Trust 💖 ✨ Affordable & Flexible Pricing! ✨ I believe every pet deserves amazing care, no matter the budget. My prices are adjustable, and I’m always happy to work with you whenever possible. If you’re looking for a lower rate or have a specific budget in mind, please don’t hesitate to text or email me! My contact information is listed in my photos, and I’d be happy to discuss pricing and availability with you. Hi! My name is Lindsay, and I’ve been caring for dogs and cats since 2017. Animals have always been one of the biggest parts of my life, and nothing makes me happier than making sure they’re safe, loved, and comfortable while their families are away. While I welcome pets of all breeds, sizes, and personalities, I especially specialize in caring for energetic puppies, senior dogs, kittens, and cats that require medications or extra attention. 🐶 Energetic puppies receive plenty of walks, playtime, potty breaks, enrichment, exercise, and one-on-one attention to help keep them happy and on their routine. 🐕 Senior dogs receive patient, gentle care with slower walks, extra comfort, medication reminders if needed, and lots of love and companionship. 🐱 I also love caring for kittens and cats of all ages, including shy cats, senior cats, and cats that require oral medications or specialized care. I understand that every cat has a different personality, and I’m happy to provide anything from active playtime to quiet companionship. Over the years, I’ve provided pet sitting, overnight stays, dog walking, boarding, house sitting, and drop-in visits for family, friends, neighbors, and clients. I’ve cared for pets ranging from tiny kittens and playful puppies to senior pets needing specialized care, anxious pets, rescue animals, and multi-pet households. I’m comfortable with: 🐾 Energetic puppies and young dogs 🐾 Senior dogs needing extra patience and gentle care 🐾 Kittens and cats of all ages 🐾 Oral medication administration for cats and dogs 🐾 Overnight pet and house sitting 🐾 Dog walking and exercise 🐾 Drop-in visits 🐾 Boarding (when available) 🐾 Feeding schedules and fresh water 🐾 Caring for multiple pets in one household Every pet is different, so I always take time to learn their routine, personality, favorite activities, feeding schedule, and any special instructions. My goal is to keep life as normal and stress-free as possible while you’re away. One thing my clients appreciate is that I send frequent photo and video updates, so you’ll always know how your pets are doing. I know how hard it can be to leave them behind, and I want you to have complete peace of mind knowing they’re receiving the same love, attention, and care I’d give my own pets. 🏡 24/7 Availability & 24-Hour Care I’m available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, making it easy to accommodate early mornings, late nights, weekends, holidays, and last-minute bookings whenever possible. I also provide 24-hour care for pets that need constant companionship or supervision. This is especially helpful for: * Puppies who need frequent potty breaks and lots of playtime * Senior dogs who benefit from extra monitoring and comfort * Cats requiring medication or specialized routines * Pets with separation anxiety * Any pet that simply does better with someone nearby throughout the day and night I provide attentive, personalized care based on each pet’s unique needs. Dogs receive regular walks, exercise, potty breaks, playtime, fresh water, feeding according to schedule, and lots of affection. Cats receive clean litter boxes, fresh food and water, medication if needed, playtime, enrichment, or quiet companionship—whatever makes them feel most comfortable. If I’m caring for your pets in your home, I’ll treat your home with the same respect I’d treat my own. I’m happy to bring in mail or packages, water plants, follow household routines, and help keep everything secure while you’re away. Above all, I pride myself on being dependable, trustworthy, patient, and genuinely passionate about caring for animals. My goal is to build lasting relationships with both pets and their owners so you always have someone you can rely on. 📩 Questions? Need Different Availability or Pricing? If you don’t see the availability you need on my Rover calendar, or if you’re hoping for a lower rate, please text or email me! My contact information is listed in my photos. I often have additional availability beyond what’s shown on Rover, and I’m always happy to discuss flexible scheduling and pricing whenever possible. I can’t wait to meet you and your furry family members! 🩷 Pet care is more than just a job to me—it’s something I’m genuinely passionate about and dedicate my time to every day. I’m available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, allowing me to be flexible around each pet’s individual routine and needs. Whether your pet needs daytime companionship, overnight care, frequent potty breaks, walks, medication, or regular check-ins throughout the day, I’m committed to providing dependable, attentive care. I truly love spending time with animals, and I make it my priority to ensure they feel safe, comfortable, loved, and as stress-free as possible while you’re away. I treat every pet like they’re part of my own family and strive to keep their daily routine as normal and consistent as possible, giving owners complete peace of mind knowing their pets are receiving around-the-clock love, attention, and personalized care. I provide attentive, personalized care based on each pet’s routine and needs. For dogs, this includes regular walks, potty breaks, playtime, exercise, feeding according to their schedule, fresh water at all times, and plenty of affection and companionship. For cats, I ensure feeding schedules are maintained, litter boxes are kept clean, and they receive the attention, playtime, or quiet companionship they prefer. I am comfortable administering basic medications as directed by owners and carefully monitoring pets for any changes in behavior, appetite, or overall well-being. I also help maintain a clean environment by cleaning up accidents, washing food and water bowls, scooping litter boxes, and keeping pet areas tidy. If caring for pets in your home, I treat your space with the utmost respect. I can bring in mail or packages, water plants, follow household routines, and help keep your home secure while you’re away. FAQs for House Sitting - Lake Norman of Catawba

Frequently asked questions about Rover

As of July 2026, there are 2,673 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Lake Norman of Catawba. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:

  • Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
  • Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
  • Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
  • Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.

The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Lake Norman of Catawba walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.

It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Lake Norman of Catawba maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:

  • Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
  • Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
  • Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.

Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Lake Norman of Catawba choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.

For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.

Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Lake Norman of Catawba. On Rover:

  • 93% of sitters can help with special care needs
  • 96% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 96% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
