“Papito loves spending time with Lawrence and Gabby. They have calm, positive energy and he always comes back happy. He's pretty headstrong and very high energy and it always feels like Lawrence and Gabby truly enjoy and appreciate him, which makes it easy not to worry about leaving him for a night or weekend. Plus they always send great artistic-quality pics of his time with them. We feel lucky to have found them.”
About: Hi, I’m Mary! I’ve been providing pet care through Rover since late 2017 and have nearly 9 years of hands-on experience caring for dogs and cats. Over the years, I’ve worked with pets of all ages, personalities, and routines, and I take pride in being reliable, communicative, and easy to work with. I understand that every pet is different. Some want to play fetch for an hour, some prefer a leisurely walk, and some cats would rather supervise me from across the room. My goal is always the same: to make your pet feel comfortable, safe, and cared for while you’re away. I have experience with dogs and cats of all ages, including seniors and pets that require medication. Whether I’m stopping by for a quick potty break, taking your dog for a walk, or spending the day with your pup in daycare, I provide dependable care and plenty of attention. Communication is a big priority for me. You’ll receive detailed Rover cards, photos, and updates so you always know how your pet is doing. I treat every pet as if they were my own and work hard to earn both your trust and theirs. Pet care is an important part of my daily routine. I offer dog walks, drop-in visits, daycare services, and cat drop-in visits throughout the week. I carefully manage my schedule to ensure every pet receives the time, attention, and care they deserve. I pride myself on being reliable, responsive, and punctual. Whether you need ongoing care or help while you’re traveling, I’ll do my best to accommodate your schedule and keep your pets happy and comfortable. Your pet’s safety and comfort are always my top priorities. I follow your instructions carefully, pay close attention to each pet’s routine, and provide regular updates throughout my visits. Building trust with both pets and owners is extremely important to me, and I strive to provide the same level of care I would want for my own animals.

“Jasmine took wonderful care of our dog during several daytime visits. She is highly knowledgeable about dogs, especially those with separation anxiety, and she knows exactly how to handle sensitive situations with calm confidence. Her communication is clear, consistent, and straightforward. She was also extremely accommodating, making sure we felt comfortable and reassured every step of the way. It was clear that our dog was in capable, caring hands. I highly recommend her for both pet sitting and training.”

“My Winston absolutely loves it at Kim’s house! He just struts right in like he owns the place. Her pups couldn’t be any sweeter & we feel so lucky we found her . Thanks Rover for making this so easy.”

“Nancy was absolutely wonderful! She graciously accepted my VERY last minute booking request, was easy to communicate/coordinate with, and a breeze for drop off and pick up. She was just what Mandy needed as we train her separation anxiety. I loved the pictures she sent of their time together. Was very nice to know my pup was in safe, loving hands! And her backyard looks like a dog’s paradise which was perfect for Mandy’s addiction to ball throwing!!”

“Kathy is so sweet & very attentive with my dog. She's also great at communication, which I've found to be a rare occurrence on Rover. She cares for other dogs while keeping mine, but I would never know if she hadn't told me! She sends pics throughout the day & promptly updates time cards. She's so compassionate & truly cares for my fur baby's wellbeing. I highly recommend Kathy!”

About: I have a love for pets, whether it be my own or others. I will gladly treat your beloved family member with love, care and compassion. I have experience with various breeds and temperaments. Whether I am in your home pet sitting or out for the casual walk around the block, I will be attentive to needs and wants. I will get down on their level play with them or just join them on the couch while they nap in my lap. My enjoyment comes from petting, loving and making my contribution to happy, healthy pets. A satisfied customer is one who can trust the care I provide, and know that I will always provide 110 percent. I look forward to the opportunity to serve the pets in my community. About: I've had animals since I was a child and have taken care of them all of my adult life. I have personally fostered over 75 dogs through to their adoptions! I'm a trusted caregiver who can handle animals of all sizes, ages, abilities and temperaments! I love getting to know each animal's personality and how to best take care of them! With several dogs and a cat at home, I am always in pet care mode (and know how important it is to find a trusted sitter). Whether it is a drop-in or a boarding situation, I treat each pet like they are my own. (Also, our cat has his own "wing" of our home so he is not interacting with any visiting dogs.) We have two friendly, large dogs, Tennessee & Tucky who have been foster brothers to over 75 dogs of all sizes and ages. Having fostered so many dogs, I recognize that each animal is unique and I enjoy getting to know their individual personalities and how to best care for them. Whether the animals are in my house or their own, I will follow the owners' instructions and manage expectations so there are as few surprises as possible. I know how worrisome it can be to leave your pet(s) in the care of another, and I pride myself on making sure the animals are taken care of and enjoy themselves.
“Bethany was very accommodating to my schedule working 12 hours shifts and the terrible traffic. Then the care she provided for my fur baby was amazing! I was so thankful for the pictures and text throughout the day. Grateful for her experience and understanding of high anxiety pups. Will definitely use her service’s again”

About: I have been a dog mom for over 12 years. I absolutely love dogs and will care for yours just as I do my own and provide your dog a happy home away from home. Our home is pet friendly- we have a doggie door and a fenced in yard. We allow dogs on our furniture. We can take walks around the neighborhood or walk to a private community dog park about a half mile away, if you like. Please reach out for a meet and greet or let us know if you need any additional information. I look forward to meeting and taking care of your dog! I am currently working from home full time, so would be able to take your dog outside frequently. If I already have a booking for that day, I will reach out to the owner to ensure there are no questions or concerns before booking another dog. I do have a 2 dog limit to ensure all dogs get along well. My home is dog friendly. Our back door leads to a fully fenced in yard. Please let me know if you’d like pictures or additional information.
“Erin was great - we dropped 2 standard poodles off for the afternoon/evening while we went to spend Thanksgiving with family. The dogs came home happy and tired! Erin sent several photos of the dogs playing in the yard and that was appreciated. 5 stars good choice if you need a safe fun place for your dog(s) to hang out. Thanks Erin for tiring out two very active dogs.”

About: I love dogs and what they bring to our life! Your pup will hang out with a friendly and energetic 5-year old Golden Retriever, his name is Tango and he is great with other dogs! We have a large fenced in yard and we spend lots of time playing ball and chasing squirrels. I work from home and have plenty of time to take care of your pup. I only host one family at a time to make sure I give plenty of attention. I live in a neighborhood with lots of pet friendly walking areas. I have a large fenced in yard and pups are welcome in all living spaces at the house. They are allowed in beds and couches. If your pup is used to sleep in a crate, please bring it with you! For the safety of Tango and other dogs I do require a copy of vaccine records as well as flea, tick and heartworm preventive all being up-to-date.
“We had just arrived in the area and soon learned that we needed some help with our fur baby. My son and daughter-in-law suggested we try the “Rover” app and that’s where we found Karen. She invited us over for and meet and greet and Tucker immediately started checking out his surroundings. Leaving a pet with someone you’ve only met once is scary, but Karen’s sweet smile and kindness made us feel at ease. Tucker loved being at Karen’s and we’ve already booked our next daycare day! A+ in our mind!”

“Lynann and her husband are great to work with. I appreciate her explaining thoroughly her process of what the daycare looks like at her home how it all works and like the required things that our dogs needed like crate training and being OK with cats. I especially liked that we got to do the meet and greet so our dogs got to meet her dog and that they got along really great. I just felt like it was very organized and when we did do our trial day she sent so many updates that were so detailed and it just made me feel really good about the entire situation. So we will definitely be booking with them again.”

“Bri and her husband were great! They were waiting for us when we arrived and made Nyla feel so comfortable, slowly introducing her to the other dogs. I got the cutest photos and regular updates. We will definitely be back!”

“If I could give more than 5 stars I would! Rachel was fantastic with me needing to book Cricket within days while being a new client and even being able to do a meet and greet the day I booked! Her flexibility was great. I gave her the run about cricket and her being dog reactive and Rachel ensured me that she would make sure Cricket would not interact with other dogs. When I picked her up Rachel was ready with her and gave me an entire summary of how cricket did and how she adjusted to a new environment. She even gave us a referral to a trainer to help with her reactivity! It was a success and we will be returning!”

Sitters on Rover can offer flexible scheduling, so you can coordinate times that work best for you and your pet—whether that’s early drop-off or later pick-up to match your Troutman commute.
If your schedule changes, it’s best to let your sitter know through the app as early as possible. Many sitters can adjust pick-up and drop-off times when needed.
Think of doggy day care as your dog’s fun, supervised play date that happens to fit into your workday. Day care through Rover takes place in a real home. This offers a calmer and more personalized environment for your pup.
A typical day can include companionship, one-on-one attention, and same day pick-up and drop-off. Many sitters can also offer structured routines and exercise throughout the day. For recurring, weekly day care, sitters will include photo updates so you can see your dog in their element.
Here are tips for finding the ideal day care fit for your dog:
- For some small dogs: In-home day care can be the perfect fit. Look for sitters whose "can host" section only lists dogs weighing 0–7 kilograms and/or 7–18 kilograms. During your Meet & Greet, ask about play areas based on dog size and energy level.
- For high-energy dogs: The ideal doggy day care can offer scheduled breaks and outdoor spaces or activities. You can also find sitters who host multiple dogs to satisfy your pup’s socializing needs.
- For dogs who prefer human-only companionship: Use the filters "Doesn't own a dog" and "Only accepts one pet at a time" to find the right care.
Play groups can be an option when you book with a day care sitter through Rover. Many sitters do host a small number of dogs at the same time. Smaller dog packs are generally safer, more fun, and ideal for dogs who enjoy playtime but also want to relax throughout the day. When looking for your dog’s pack, check the sitter’s profile to see if they "Accept multiple clients" or have their own dogs. Then during the Meet & Greet, you can see whether your dog is a good fit for their social circle!
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in NC ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
