“Jettson had a blast with Jeremy and his family. Would def choose them to dog sit for us again! They kept us updated the entire time we were away and treated our fur baby like their own.”

“AMAZING! I was nervous about leaving my two dogs with someone for the first time but Leslie put me at ease immediately. She sent me daily updates per my request for the eight days we were gone and made friends quickly with my timid Chihuahua. Communication was timely and clear. I booked Leslie about a month in advance and she kept her appointment. I highly recommend Leslie as a pet sitter.”

“It was our first time boarding Jason, and also a first experience with Lipika. She has been incredible in taking care of Jason. We were a bit apprehensive since Jason feels anxious around new people and Lipika was kind enough to do a meet and greet before the boarding. Jason settled in over the next few days . She took him out for his daily walks and gave his meals/treats as we had mentioned. He had lots of play time and looked happy when we came to pick him up. The best part was that everyday we received multiple videos and pictures of him and round the day updates, which made this entire boarding period stress free for both me and my wife. We will definitely love to avail boarding sessions with Lipika in future and recommend her to everyone looking for a caring person to keep your pets with.”

“Anamika was wonderful with my dog. She has a yard and allowed them to play with her family and other dogs. She sent a lot of great pictures during the day. My dog had a great time and was very happy to see her when I brought her back a few days later.”

About: I have spent my entire adult life with dogs & love them dearly. My 2 dogs love to play with other dogs as well as each other. I am a retired stay at home widow who loves dogs. I can devote most my time having dogs in my home to love and care for. I have a large fenced in yard specifically for the care & safety purposes of my dogs and the dogs I am caring for in my home.

“Lawrence definitely took care of my and my dog'a needs! He had a very calm and mellow vibe that he projected onto my pup. He provided daily updates and photos, which were great! Would definitely use Lawrence again!”

“Christine and Joseph watched our two fur babies this past weekend and they were incredible! They sent updates and photos 2x per day and my pups looked so happy! They were super accommodating with our travel delay. I am very happy with their communication and attention to our dogs special needs! We will definitely have them watch our pups again!”

“Rachel was great with my energetic 13 month old lab/pit mix! I could tell from their first interaction that she encouraged both fun and training during the stay, and I got him back in great shape after a 72 hour stay”

“Margaret took great care of our senior golden. He got to go for long walks and play with her sweet dog. I don’t think I he wanted to come home! We will gladly ask to to care for our pup again in the future.”

“Kathy and her crew took extra special care of our boy Nikko. He will be returning to his favorite spot soon. She has a wonderful outdoor area and furry friends to keep your special ones company.”

About: Experienced with energetic and strong willed dogs. Experienced with structured care, consistent routines, and happy dogs :) Will love your pup like it’s my own Caring for pets is already a big part of my everyday life. My routine revolves around making sure my dog is walked, fed, and given plenty of attention throughout the day. Feel free to message me about availability! I typically am available whenever you need!! I have a very friendly and energetic Husky in my home who loves staying active. We go on walks around the neighborhood about every 2 hours for potty breaks, as well as mental and physical stimulation. We also occasionally enjoy car rides to the dog park for extra fun and exercise. Since my yard is unfenced, I have a secure outdoor lead available. If your dog enjoys spending time outside like mine, I’d be happy to accommodate that upon request. For safety and comfort, I also have a crate available and can crate your dog or mine as needed.
“Mike was great, he was communicative and trustworthy. He sent updates every day he took care of our dog Grizzly. Grizzly had a great time and he even did some training work with him which was really appreciated. Would definitely recommend him for any type of dog care!”

“Sandra did a great job keeping up with my dog for me while I was away and keeping me posted on my dogs activity and behavior while being taken care of. She is very considerate and did a great job sitting for my dog.”

“Leah was really good with my 12-year-old mixed beagle mix. She sent me a couple of pictures. When she wasn’t home, she monitored Precious with a nanny camera. She prefers smaller dogs because she has two little fur-babies. One of them barked quite a bit. Since I live alone, Precious wasn’t used to this. I think, though, they kept that little separate. Leah has a huge fenced backyard, an immaculate house and a great neighborhood for walking a dog.”

“Lisa took great care of our Roxy while we were out of town. It's a plus that her dog and Roxy had a blast playing. Lisa was always quick to respond when we checked in. We will use her again.”

“Megan was a great sitter and helped us out last minute. Dakota definitely enjoyed his time with her and we’re grateful for her ability to sit with him would definitely book with her again. She kept us updated every day and was very flexible with us as well.”

I couldn’t have asked for a better sitter for Daxton. She was so accommodating and made everything feel easy from the beginning. You can tell she genuinely cares and goes above and beyond to make sure pets are comfortable and well taken care of. Daxton came home happy, relaxed, and clearly well cared for, which means everything to me. She had everything I could have wanted and more. I felt completely comfortable leaving him with her and will absolutely be booking with her again.

Porter had a wonderful stay with Kellie! From the photos she sent throughout his visit, it was clear he was happy, well-cared for, and having a blast. He got plenty of outdoor time, playtime with a ball, and even made some furry friends. Kellie was communicative and consistent with updates, which made leaving him so much easier. We'll definitely be booking with her again!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in NC ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
