“Amazing - she made sure my rescue who gets very easily scared was at ease. Extremely flexible on times even when booking the wrong days. Communication is flawless and an added bonus of fun photos! Have already rebooked multiple trips it was so seamless.”

“Rachel was exceptional with our two small dogs. She was flexible with a meet and greet while my husband and I were out of town and then with a late drop off the night she returned from being out of town. And during the stay she took phenomenal care of one of our pups who is elderly and has incontinence and followed his care to a “T” including giving him 2 baths during the short stay. So so so grateful for her. She provided updates and again, took such great care like they were her own dogs. Highly recommend!”

“Caitlin was literally amazing! I have never used a dog sitting service and did not know what to expect. I had to go out of town on short notice due to a funeral and she was able accommodate my dates. She made me feel so comfortable. I have two little fur babies that have anxiety and bark at everything but she was very accommodating and was able to meet there needs. You can tell she really loves animals and knows what she is doing. She provided updates regularly and sent lots of videos! I would highly recommend her. I was really worried about leaving my babies but she took care of them as if they were her own. She was so flexible when my flight got delayed and willing to work with us. I would use her services again and recommend her to anyone!!”

“I would definitely give five stars to Anamika! If it were possible, I would give her ten stars. She was a great surprise to us and Tião. We have used Rover many times, but we finally found someone who genuinely cares for our dog with love. I must confess that I thought my dog would not want to come back home after the exceptional service Anamika provided. Anamika is also committed to let you know how's your dog doing. We will undoubtedly use her services again in the future!”

“Kathy was very flexible with pick up and drop off times. When I travel, its usually hectic and she was able to let me drop of 30 minutes early. She sent tons of photos and updates. Allowed my boys to have tons of playtime with her dogs. They went right to sleep once we got home. Very happy with how she treats them.”

“AMAZING! I was nervous about leaving my two dogs with someone for the first time but Leslie put me at ease immediately. She sent me daily updates per my request for the eight days we were gone and made friends quickly with my timid Chihuahua. Communication was timely and clear. I booked Leslie about a month in advance and she kept her appointment. I highly recommend Leslie as a pet sitter.”

“Susan and her daughters were great with our treeing walker coonhound, Maisy. They sent adorable videos and pictures ensuring we were updated throughout her stay. We will be back forsure! Thank you again ladies, we are so thankful. Popham family”

“Absolutely amazing pet sitters. They were extremely communicative, very responsive, and very interactive with my dog. I would 1000% recommend and I look forward to them taking care of my pet in future endeavors.”

“Arya is awesome - highly recommend! She was very active and loving with our goldendoodle. She also was very communicative with pictures and letting us know how he was doing throughout the week. Definitely would book her again!”

“Margaret took great care of our senior golden. He got to go for long walks and play with her sweet dog. I don’t think I he wanted to come home! We will gladly ask to to care for our pup again in the future.”

My routine revolves around making sure my dog is walked, fed, and given plenty of attention throughout the day. Feel free to message me about availability! I typically am available whenever you need!! I have a very friendly and energetic Husky in my home who loves staying active. We go on walks around the neighborhood about every 2 hours for potty breaks, as well as mental and physical stimulation. We also occasionally enjoy car rides to the dog park for extra fun and exercise. Since my yard is unfenced, I have a secure outdoor lead available. If your dog enjoys spending time outside like mine, I’d be happy to accommodate that upon request. For safety and comfort, I also have a crate available and can crate your dog or mine as needed.

My furry friends seem to know it too, which makes me smile just thinking about those cuddles and wags they give in return! “Sandra was the best. Very communicative and sent pictures often. Our dogs were happy and healthy when we picked them up. As soon as we got home they took the longest nap, a sure sign of a good time!”

“I was short notice finding boarding and Brittany got back to me very timely. She provided updates as well as pictures which made my first time using her very comfortable. Will use again!”

“Mike was great with our Klaatu. We received updates and pictures every day that provided us peace of mind. Klaatu had lots of play time, made new friends and seemed a happier, more relaxed version of himself than when we dropped him off! Mike thank you for taking such good care of our boy!”

“Leah was really good with my 12-year-old mixed beagle mix. She sent me a couple of pictures. When she wasn’t home, she monitored Precious with a nanny camera. She prefers smaller dogs because she has two little fur-babies. One of them barked quite a bit. Since I live alone, Precious wasn’t used to this. I think, though, they kept that little separate. Leah has a huge fenced backyard, an immaculate house and a great neighborhood for walking a dog.”

“Megan was a great sitter and helped us out last minute. Dakota definitely enjoyed his time with her and we’re grateful for her ability to sit with him would definitely book with her again. She kept us updated every day and was very flexible with us as well.”

“Arleen, is the best pet sitter we have ever had. She was thorough in getting to know the needs of my pet and making sure she was well taken care of. She took her on walks, shared pictures, and spent time with her. I would highly recommend Arleen and give her more than 5 stars.”

I couldn’t have asked for a better sitter for Daxton. She was so accommodating and made everything feel easy from the beginning. You can tell she genuinely cares and goes above and beyond to make sure pets are comfortable and well taken care of. Daxton came home happy, relaxed, and clearly well cared for, which means everything to me. She had everything I could have wanted and more. I felt completely comfortable leaving him with her and will absolutely be booking with her again.

Porter had a wonderful stay with Kellie! From the photos she sent throughout his visit, it was clear he was happy, well-cared for, and having a blast. He got plenty of outdoor time, playtime with a ball, and even made some furry friends. Kellie was communicative and consistent with updates, which made leaving him so much easier. We'll definitely be booking with her again!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in NC ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
