“Kaitlyn is absolutely amazing! She stepped in last minute to watch Charlie for a week and was a total lifesaver. If you’re looking for a sitter who truly cares and provides a five-star experience, look no further. I received frequent updates and so many great photos, which gave me complete peace of mind while I was away. Kaitlyn is incredibly kind and has a wonderful, welcoming home that is perfect for a pup. I felt 100% at ease knowing Charlie was in such good hands. I would 1000% recommend her to anyone and will definitely be booking with her again!”

“Monique was wonderful with my chihuahua, Cocoa! She's got a very calm, gentle and soothing tone, and he loved her little dog too. I really appreciated her flexibility, communication, and updates. I will definitely be a repeat customer. Thanks Monique!”

“Michelle was so great at sharing pics so I could see how much our Brady enjoyed cuddling and being part of her family for Labor Day weekend. I would highly recommend her to watch your fur baby.”

“Such a great and reliable sitter. Was able to do a last minute reservation and pick up both my dog and cat and bring them back!! Has a huge fenced in yard so my dog can play all day w other dogs. Kept the cats litter box so clean I didn’t even have to change it when they brought it back. Was able to extend a two day reservation on a day to day basis up to 5 days as we were moving and our schedule was erratic. Natalie and her husband are truly the best”

“Maggie was a great find on Rover! She is close by; very attentive to our and our doxipoo’s needs while she stayed at Maggie’s home for a week. She sent many pictures and provided updates regularly. Would definitely use her services again! 5 star!!”

“Arya did a fantastic job taking care of my dog. He is high energy and she met his needs . She had a true bond with my dog and I plan to request her services again and again !”

“I can't say enough positive things about my and my pup's experience with Brad. 1. Booking/Communication - From the initial booking, Brad was communicative and responsive ensuring that I would feel comfortable even before I dropped my pup off. 2. Drop off - At drop-off, Brad was extremely attentive to understand the unique needs of my pup especially as it pertained to his medication. In my moving around, I forgot to bring something my pup needed. Brad was extremely helpful in getting it resolved so that my pup's stay would be just fine. Additionally, Brad went out of his way to ask how, and what frequency, I wanted to be updated on my pup's stay. 3. Stay - My pup had a fantastic time staying with Brad and having pup siblings at Brad's house. I'm confident of this not only because, true to his word, Brad was not only communicative about what was going on each day (for the entire ~3wk stay), but he also sent pictures and videos with funny notes! I could see that my dog was active not only outside but inside the home, was playing well with the other dogs, and was being loved and snuggled daily. 4. Pick-up - The day of pick-up, my flight was delayed impacting my ability to pick-up my pup on time. Brad was completely understanding and was communicative to ensure that I had no worries. When I arrived to pick up my pup, all of the things I sent with my pup came home in great condition AND Brad sent me home with a treat that he had graciously been giving my pup as well! I could tell my pup was excited to go home but was sad to leave Brad and his new friends! Overall, we will DEFINITELY use Brad again and recommend him to anyone that is looking for someone to treat their pup like family when they have to go away. Thanks again, Brad!”

“Ashley was totally awesome! This was a last-minute booking as we left WNC after Hurricane Helene, and couldn't accommodate Casper where we were staying. She was totally calm and in charge, which Casper needs since his tendency to shepherd and try to be in charge is so strong. He needs to know he's not in control. Ashley took great care of him physically and psychologically. I'll definitely seek her services again if we're in the area!”

“Krystal and her family were Wonderful. She took care of our dog during the time that Charlotte had record snowfall and cold weather. A path was cleared for our dog so he could go out in the snow. We came home to a happy and healthy sweet dog.”

“Absolutely amazing pet sitters. They were extremely communicative, very responsive, and very interactive with my dog. I would 1000% recommend and I look forward to them taking care of my pet in future endeavors.”

“We left our dog with Bri for the first time for 5 days. She was accommodating and sent updates with pictures every day. Our dog did well with her and her dogs and family. I would happily use Bri again.”

“Sindhu and her family were awesome! She was very responsive, sent lots of photos, and I felt comfortable with my dog with her. He seemed to have a great time! She was very nice!”

“Katie is a wonderful sitter. She took great care of our 2 pups (including our older dog who receives medications daily), made sure our dogs got along with her dog and kept us posted while we were out of the country. She was also very flexible when our flight was delayed. Overall, Katie is very caring and we would not hesitate to leave our pups with her next time. I highly recommend Katie as a dog sitter.”
“Brent was a great puppy sitter and host for our dog Finn! He had plenty of apace and kept a good awareness of the dogs staying at his house. We are very grateful for his kind dog sitting.”

“Erika was a wonderful sitter! We had planned on boarding but switched last minute. She accepted and was available for a meet and greet. We got pictures and updates daily. We would definitely book with her again!! Chloe had a great time!”

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in NC ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
