“We love Kim! She gives our crazy beagle boy, Rudy, lots of love and attention. Always willing to work with us on bookings and is very quick to respond. Thank you, Kim!”

“Christina is awesome! I love how she wanted to meet with Bella and get acquainted before we left for our trip. Christina sent pics and I could tell that Bella was well cared for. Will use Christina again if she is available!”

“Lipika is a wonderful sitter! She is friendly, personable and professional. Her home environment is safe and accommodating, and her attentiveness to the dogs and attention to detail is stellar. Love all the pictures and videos she sent every day throughout my dog’s stay. I will definitely use her again for overnight boarding.”

“Nicole was great with my goldendoodle Kingston. She kept me updated from the time I left, and each day after. She sent me photos of him playing with her two dogs, and a German Shepard that was there one day on a play date. Kingston was well cared for, and judging from the photos he had a ball while there. He was able to run and play in Nicole's hugh backyard, and Kingston also had a dedicated room in her house to nap/sleep. Nicole is a fantasic sitter and I could tell that she loves dogs. I would definitely reommend her services if you need a dog sitter.”

“We highly recommend Donald. He is Duke’s favorite sitter. Donald takes excellent care of our labradoodle and is extremely responsive. We appreciate the pictures and twice daily updates. We will continue to be a repeat customer.”

“I definitely recommend Tonya and her husband, Sam! My dog has bad anxiety at times, but did so well with Tonya for the week we were gone. She sent me pictures everyday of him laying out in the sun, going on walks, or cuddling with one of them. Pick up and drop-off were very easy. Tonya seemed very understanding of any concerns I may have had. They reassured me everything would be ok and not to worry! You can tell they have a real love for dogs and treat them like family. Knowing Loki was comfortable and happy made me enjoy my vacation that much more! I will be using Tonya for future bookings with my dog Loki!”

“Cory watched Sofia for me while I made a work trip. She had so much fun hanging with him and his pups. His pups are so sweet and love to be outside like Sofia does! Cory responded quickly to all my texts and sent me pictures”

“Exceptional service from start to finish! Rachel was not only flexible with our schedule but also displayed genuine care and friendliness towards our Max. The environment was clean, and the regular updates and pictures provided peace of mind while we were away. A trustworthy and reliable choice for any pet owner!””

“Russell and his wife are awesome! I'm truly convinced my dog feels just as at home with them as she does with me. They are great looking out for her needs, as well as giving her much playtime and attention. Happy I have found someone who is trustworthy as well, and I can comfortably leave my pup with them.”
“Ginia and her family were so great in caring for Gerty. They sent regular updates and photos. When I picked up Gerty I could tell she was genuinely happy and completely exhausted, which is the best assurance I could’ve asked for! I would absolutely use Ginia again. Book with confidence!”

“Amanda was the absolute BEST care giver to my Beagle Beau. We had never left him before with anyone, and Amanda welcomed him in as her own. Her and her family were so welcoming, kind, attentive and they truly understood our need to feel confident and safe leaving Beau with her....she absolutely outdid all expectations. Will definitely be having Beau stay with Amanda again and again.”

“Rachel is AMAZING!! This was my first time boarding my pups (one with anxiety) and using Rover. I couldn't have asked for a better experience. 11/10 experience! We did a meet and greet ahead of time, which was super helpful. She has a wonderful setup! A nice, large, fenced-in yard for them to run around and play. The upper deck is perfect for my pups looking out over the yard and resting in the sun. Rachel is a fantastic communicator sending multiple updates, pics and videos throughout the day. With my permission, the dogs were allowed on the couch and provided lots of cuddles and she even slept in the spare room with them (just like home). For my pup with anxiety, she moved slow and gave her time to adjust and settle. My babies got all the play, love and attention they are used to (plus a little more) 😊😊 Also, Rachel was very flexible with me for drop-off and pickup as we were going out of town. My heart is so full knowing my babies were so well cared for! Thank you Rachel!!!”

“Diane was fantastic with Bentley! She is the sweetest, and did an amazing job keeping in touch and sharing photos/updates throughout his stay with her. 10/10 would recommend!”

“My boys (2 of them!) can get separation anxiety, so drop offs are typically pretty difficult; but with Deborah, they waltzed right into her home! They came back EXHAUSTED from a weekend of play. I'm thrilled with how happy they are, and will definitely be using Deborah again!”

“Courtney took great care of our 2 dogs for a 10 day vacation. She was very attentive and sent daily pictures/updates. Definitely would recommend and will rebooking with her in the future!”

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in NC ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
