“Courtney was very professional and caring of my standard poodle. She provided updates and pictures every day allowing me to be relaxed about him being in her care. It was a 2 week gig and all went well.”

“Biggie and our pack just moved cross-country and needed a last-minute sitter for him while we viewed some homes. Jennifer and Matthew were fantastic, and so kind. They promised to take care introducing him to their kids and another dog, kept communication open, and sent photos that showed how happy he was running and playing. As much as I missed him, I can tell he had a blast with them. We look forward to the next visit, thank you both for making our first Rover experience in NC such a good one.”

“We just moved here and we were very nervous about leaving our babies. Christine was the best!!! They had so much fun and she kept us updated everyday! I will definitely ask her again and recommend her 100%! ❤️”

“Isabella is an amazing sitter we love having her watch our doodle Mr.bean! He loves going and always comes back happy! Isabella is great at communicating and always sends pictures!”

“This was a first time using Rover and we had the absolute BEST experience with Daisy. She not only kept us updated on how Finn was doing but sent lots of photos of his happy experience! Finn was with Daisy for a whole week and we didn’t have to worry about him for a moment. We previously had used boarding facilities and he came back so anxious. I look forward to contacting Daisy for any Finn stays in the future!”

“Having a great pet sitter that gives regular updates while you’re away gives you such peace of mind. I was completely at ease when Frances was watching Marley. Thanks for taking great care of my baby”

“Very commutative Send pictures Very fun going She did great with my lil brook for her first booking really appreciated the over communication with alexis!! She's the BEST 🥰 WILL book again thanks so much!!”

“Amelia and Grant took the best care of our baby for over a week! They sent pictures and videos of him cuddled up with them, playing, and going for walks. I know he had a wonderful time! Our dog can be nervous of new people, but he immediately warmed to them in the meet and greet. They have a beautiful home and neighborhood. They took note of all his special quirks haha. Our pup will definitely love to visit them again!”

About: What sets me apart is the level of care and attention I give every pet as if they were my own. “Such a great experience having Nicholas and Sara watch our golden collie, Abby. They are reliable, responsible and mature. They provided lots of updates and photos which certainly calmed this overprotective, (a bit OCD) dog mom! Great sitters! I highly recommend them!”

“Our dog did great at Amanda’s place for a long stay! Her place is great with a large fenced in yard and everything a dog could need. While we were away we got regular photos and updates that she was settled in and doing well, and making friends with her dog Oakley. Will definitely be using Amanda again!”

About: Hi! We’ve had several dogs in our life, and currently have our own, we’ve pet sit for friends and family for a couple years and figured we would open our home. We’ve had puppies all the way through seniors! Currently a stay at home parent so lots of loving on our dogs throughout the day. I’m up early each day and enjoy being able to spend it slow and following our routine. We love going on walks in our neighborhood and even have a dog park available close by! I have 4 dogs at home already but also a fenced in yard. We never leave dogs outside unattended either, that way we can keep a close eye on them and give them any and everything they need. I’m also available to drop-ins for other houses and walks if close by!
“Katie took very good care of my goldendoodle for a week. She was very caring and sent me pictures during the week. I’d definitely use Katie again and I highly recommend her for your fur baby.”

“This was the first time I have left Buddy for a week. Amanda was amazing with sending updates with pictures When we had our meet & greet Buddy was so comfortable with Amanda and Her house. When I picked Him up, Buddy seemed like He didn't want to leave, which is Great for Amanda and was a little sad for Me lol. I would recommend Amanda for all your needs, She is now family to Us and Buddy.”

“She is wonderful! I got multiple pictures and videos a day. The babies had so much fun and I knew they were in good hands. I will be using Natalie again whenever we go out of town.”

“When I move to Charlotte a week ago, one of my biggest concerns was Pet care. I love my dog, and I was nervous to find someone who loved taking care of him as much as I do. I appreciate you! I picked my pup up and he had just as much excitement from the time I dropped him off with you. From now on, you will be my first choice from here on out.”

“Alison and Richard are awesome! So accommodating and flexible with drop off and pick up. They have a beautiful home with lots of room for the dogs to run. Highly recommend!”

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in NC ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
