“Vita was absolutely amazing with my Louie! 🐾❤️ She took such great care of him and made me feel completely comfortable while I was away. She sent plenty of pictures, videos, and updates, which gave me so much peace of mind knowing my baby was safe and being loved on. 🥹 I could tell Vita genuinely cared about Louie, and that meant everything to me. I would 100% recommend her to anyone looking for a trustworthy, caring, and attentive sitter. Louie will definitely be back! 🐶💕”

“Isabella is an absolute angel! I had just moved across the country and had no friends or family nearby when an unexpected urgent family emergency occurred requiring me to find my sweet Rue a sitter. Isabella was so incredibly kind and thoughtful. She really took care of my pup, so that I could focus on taking care of my human family. I cannot thank her enough. I received multiple daily updates including photos. Isabella responds very quickly and She is extremely easy to communicate and work with. She is honest and transparent. I feel Rue was very well taken care of. I was impressed when Isabella had to step away from the home for a couple hours and she took the time to check up on Rue via home cameras. I have already booked Rue’s next stay with Isabella!”

“Elizabeth and her husband did a wonderful job watching my dog. My dog is a double amputee and wears diapers. They didn’t even hesitate to watch her and proved her a safe and comfortable place to hang out! Will definitely be using them again ?”

“Alexander did an amazing job sitting our little Willow. She kept in contact with us as well as sent pictures of Willow throughout our vacation. Overall, we will definitely use Alexander for all our sitting needs in the future.”

“Carrie took great care of our pit bull Sox in her home while we were out of town for a couple days! She sent daily updates with pictures and videos to assure us he was doing well. Her whole family gave him much love and treated him like their own. Will definitely be using her again!”

“John was amazing with my pup! He could tell he immediately felt comfortable with John. I got lots of updates and some awesome pictures. Will definitely be using John again to take care of my dog! Thank you so much.”

“Jennifer was fantastic with my dog Cody. She sent pictures and videos daily and messages letting me know how he was doing. Cody hasn’t done well in boarding environments. On the way home from Jennifer’s he was calm and content. He also became buddies with her dog Milo. I will certainly be taking Cody back to Jennifer!”

About: Hi! I'm a huge animal lover and proud pet parent to three cats and two dogs, so I know firsthand that pets are family. Caring for animals has always been a passion of mine, and I love giving them the attention, affection, and care they deserve while their owners are away. With a background in military service and my current career in law enforcement, I've built a strong foundation of responsibility, reliability, and trustworthiness. You can count on me to provide a safe, loving, and dependable environment where your pets will be treated like they're my own. Whether they love playtime, walks, or simply a calm place to relax, I'll make sure they feel comfortable, happy, and well cared for until you're back home. Thanks to my career I am able to be home during the day time and am able to provide a consistent play, walk, and feeding schedule for pets. I have two dogs with a fenced in backyard that are house trained and crate trained. This makes it very easy to accommodate the needs of your pet. Based on your pets personality I have multiple ways to accommodate them.

“Daisy has cared for my 2 furbabies several times, this is the first boarding for 4 days. She is excellent and sends beautiful pictures of the babies playing. Excellent Furbaby Sitter.”

“Amelia and Grant are great! They watched our 14 year old dog over the 4th of July weekend and provided updates regularly. I was never worried about what Daisy was up to because I felt that they made her comfortable right off the bat. I highly recommend using Amelia and Grant as we hope to again!”

About: Our family has a dauschaund for 15 years that passed in August. She was provided so much love and care. I'm not afraid to help feel meds to your pup to keep them happy and healthy. We now have two pomeranian/ chihuahua mixes. One is about half way through his training to be a service dog and hopefully a therapy dog. He loves learning and putting that work vest on. His sister is a year younger and lives to play and snuggle. We loved boarding our friends dog, and both Rupert and Mabel get along with their pup friends. And they all love running around our fully fenced backyard. Our family has also had cats off and on for over 20 years. While I know they are laid back and are happy with an empty litter box and a full food bowl, they like getting the extra love and attention to. So whether it's with a toy on a stick, balls on the ground, or even some gentle pets they need love while your away also. I would love to help care for your four legged family member. While in my care, they would be treated like one of the family. I currently work part-time from home. I would be available to help your four legged family member before 7am and after 12 noon. The only other thing that keeps me busy is the training with Rupert, and playing and snuggling with Mabel, but it's flexible. I am asking to care for smaller dogs only because of some medical restrictions. With a small dog I will have no problem walking them, cleaning up after them, and crating if needed. But most of all I will be able to play with them to help burn off energy.

“Monique took great care of our little furbaby. She was very flexible with my hectic schedule during drop off and pick up. She has a fenced-in yard where she took extra care to make sure there are no gaps and has her downstairs well doggie-proofed. She did a great job with sending updates and pics to keep my mind at ease. I never had to ask, she just sent them periodically. She has a great personality and you can tell she loves animals. I highly recommend her as a sitter!”

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in NC ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
