“Vita was a great sitter! She communicated with me the whole time and constantly sent video and picture updates. Also my dog is a senior dog that takes several medicines twice a day, and she administered them properly with no problem.”

“Thanks to Jennifer and Matt, we were able to enjoy our vacation knowing our Frank was being well taken care and receiving lots of lovin'! This was our first time leaving Frank with a sitter and Jennifer and Matt immediately welcomed Frank which put my mind at ease. They are easy to work with and I appreciate that their communication was prompt.”

“We had such a great experience! She took amazing care of both of our dogs and treated them like they were her own. She kept us updated with pictures and messages, which gave us so much peace of mind while we were away. It was clear our dogs were happy, comfortable, and well loved. We will definitely be booking with her again and highly recommend her to anyone looking for a trustworthy, caring sitter!”

“Donna & Britton took amazing care of my puppy! This was my first time boarding my puppy and from the initial meet and greet Donna made me feel very comfortable. She sent regular updates and pictures. Communicated with me regarding the care of my pup. I felt at ease that my fur baby was in great hands. He had a great time. I will definitely book again. Thank you Donna and Britton for taking such great care of my Remy 🐶❤️”

“Florence has watched my dog a few times now and I’ve really enjoyed working with her. She’s always done a great job taking care of Moxie and has been good at communicating and accommodating for our needs.”

“Jamie was great with my dog, communication was great and she kept me informed on everything with photos included. Great fun she was able to help me travel with a sense of ease during my last minute trip. 10 out of 10”

“Katie is so sweet! Her family played with Tucker all day long, and she sent lots of pictures. They have a big yard and it was great to have Tucker in that kind of area. I felt at ease with Katie the whole time!”

“Isabella is an absolute angel! I had just moved across the country and had no friends or family nearby when an unexpected urgent family emergency occurred requiring me to find my sweet Rue a sitter. Isabella was so incredibly kind and thoughtful. She really took care of my pup, so that I could focus on taking care of my human family. I cannot thank her enough. I received multiple daily updates including photos. Isabella responds very quickly and She is extremely easy to communicate and work with. She is honest and transparent. I feel Rue was very well taken care of. I was impressed when Isabella had to step away from the home for a couple hours and she took the time to check up on Rue via home cameras. I have already booked Rue’s next stay with Isabella!”

About: Our family has a dauschaund for 15 years that passed in August. She was provided so much love and care. I'm not afraid to help feel meds to your pup to keep them happy and healthy. We now have two pomeranian/ chihuahua mixes. One is about half way through his training to be a service dog and hopefully a therapy dog. He loves learning and putting that work vest on. His sister is a year younger and lives to play and snuggle. We loved boarding our friends dog, and both Rupert and Mabel get along with their pup friends. And they all love running around our fully fenced backyard. Our family has also had cats off and on for over 20 years. While I know they are laid back and are happy with an empty litter box and a full food bowl, they like getting the extra love and attention to. So whether it's with a toy on a stick, balls on the ground, or even some gentle pets they need love while your away also. I would love to help care for your four legged family member. While in my care, they would be treated like one of the family. I currently work part-time from home. I would be available to help your four legged family member before 7am and after 12 noon. The only other thing that keeps me busy is the training with Rupert, and playing and snuggling with Mabel, but it's flexible. I am asking to care for smaller dogs only because of some medical restrictions. With a small dog I will have no problem walking them, cleaning up after them, and crating if needed. But most of all I will be able to play with them to help burn off energy.
“Courtney was very professional and caring of my standard poodle. She provided updates and pictures every day allowing me to be relaxed about him being in her care. It was a 2 week gig and all went well.”

“Amelia and Grant were absolutely awesome! From the moment I dropped off my dog Anna, I could tell she was in great hands. They were warm, professional, and clearly experienced with dogs. Anna looked so happy and comfortable in every update they sent, and she came home relaxed and well cared for. It's such a relief to know she's in such loving hands when I'm away. Highly recommend Amelia and Grant – we'll definitely be booking with them again!”

“Leigh is the furfect sitter for our boy! She is incredibly flexible and responds to messages right away. Our original pet sitter canceled on the day of our booking, and we had to find someone last minute. We’re so thankful that Leigh replied immediately and was able to help us out. From the moment our boy arrived at her place, he felt comfortable and happy and he didn’t hesitate at all to start playing in her yard, which really showed us what a kind and welcoming person she is. Leigh kept us updated with plenty of pictures and videos, which gave us so much peace of mind. She followed the schedule we provided perfectly and made sure he got lots of playtime and attention. Knowing that our boy was having fun and being well cared for made us feel completely at ease. We would absolutely book Leigh again and highly recommend her to anyone looking for an amazing pet sitter!”

“Pepper had the best stay with Ashley and Robert! We got updates throughout her overnight stay, and Pep had so much fun playing with their other dogs. Using them again for our next trip!”

“My dog Gracie had a wonderful time staying with Krissa as evident by the pictures that Krissa sent of Gracie during her stay. Krissa has a very large fenced in yard and is quite knowledgeable of dogs. I'm comfortable leaving my little girl with Krissa and know that Gracie will enjoy herself.”

“Francis did an AMAZING JOB with Empress. She kept me up to date on her activity. She allowed lots of time outdoors to play and stayed with my regularly scheduled program with feeding and also modified booking to allow Empress to stay an additional day once i informed her that i wasn't going to be back in time for our sheduled pick-up. She was very flexible and accommodating. I will definitely reccommend Francis for others. Also, i will be returning in the future as a customer. Great Job!!!!!!”

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in NC ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
