“Carrie took great care of our pit bull Sox in her home while we were out of town for a couple days! She sent daily updates with pictures and videos to assure us he was doing well. Her whole family gave him much love and treated him like their own. Will definitely be using her again!”

“Susan and her daughters were amazing with our two dogs! I received 15-20 photos a day plus additional videos. The girls looked happy and very well taken care of. They even came home smelling free and clean! Will for sure use in the future and recommend to anyone!”

“I hesitate to write a review because Chris is a gem and we don’t want him to get too busy so that he’s available when we need him! Haha. We did a meet and greet before our official first visit to get to know each other and the pups! Wonderful personality, enjoy him, his wife, and his sweet pups! Really grateful we found someone who cares about our senior boy and treats him so well. We know he can be a handful due to his age and quirks but very fortunate to find Chris who genuinely cares about his well-being. We know he’s in great hands.”
“This was the first time I used Rover and boy did I hit the jackpot with Donna and Britton! I have a 7yo shih tzu and a 5 month old mutt puppy. I could not have asked for a better week for them to have to spent away from us. They were completely welcomed as part of their family…and may have even had more fun with them then they would have had with us! ?. They treated them as their own, gave me all the pics and updates I wanted! Very loving environment. Great backyard. Two wonderful dogs of their own. I will 100% book with Donna and Britton again! A+++”

“Jessica took care of our dog for several days while we traveled. She was caring, she was honest, she kept us updated every day! We really felt that our Dog was loved and taken care of in the best way! We will call her again without any hesitation.”

“Hanaa was amazing! She did a meet and greet with Wrigley before boarding her at her house. We had just moved to the area and were nervous about how Wrigley would react, but Hannah gave her a little space of her own in the house to get comfortable and treated our dog like she was one of her own. She came back to us showing no signs of stress whatsoever, having thoroughly enjoyed her time at Hanaa’s. We appreciated the pictures and updates and how willing she was to adapt to any schedule needs or dog needs. Thanks Hanaa!”

“Deborah was amazing! This was the first time we had left our dog overnight for more than 2 nights with someone he did not know. He had a great time. Deborah communicated with us and ensured he was fine - and he was. Thanks so much!!!”

“This is the second time I have used Tina and her family. They have done a great job both times. My dog, Ella, is in love with them! I would use them repeatedly - they did everything I asked and went beyond.”

“Jessica is phenomenal. She provides daily updates with photo/video. She really cares for your pup, and I have no worries when we are away. Bailey has loved her stay each time!”

“Kendra was very sweet, accommodating, and professional throughout the entire process. She took excellent care of our golden doodle “Zuri” and made sure to update us with pictures and texts daily. She will definitely be our first choice for boarding from this point on! Thank you Kendra!”

“They were great with cookie updates and pictures throughout the day and was very understanding of her allergies. Once I dropped cookie off they were very welcoming and thorough making sure they knew what she likes and how to make her feel comfortable. Their dog Bella is super friendly and will welcome your dog with open paws. The entire family loved on my baby while my husband and I were away. I would leave cookie with them anytime”

“Shelley was great! Tucker was a happy dog when we picked him up. She is a great communicator, sent plenty of pictures, took great care of of Tucker. We will definitely be back! Thanks again!”

“This was the first time our 2 labs stayed with Elaine. They appeared to have had a good stay and adjusted to the freedom of a dog door and a large fenced back yard to play in. She sent pictures and occasional updates.”

“Thanks to Jennifer and Matt, we were able to enjoy our vacation knowing our Frank was being well taken care and receiving lots of lovin'! This was our first time leaving Frank with a sitter and Jennifer and Matt immediately welcomed Frank which put my mind at ease. They are easy to work with and I appreciate that their communication was prompt.”

“We were so lucky to find Ashley and Robert to pet sit our 1.5 yr old goldendoodle in their home during our recent 4 day trip. I really couldn’t ask for more from a pet sitter and they took excellent care of him. As requested they would send multiple updates and photos each day to let us know how he was doing and funny things he did during day. I would highly recommend Ashley and Robert to anyone looking for someone you can truly feel comfortable leaving your companion with and knowing they are in good hands at all times. I’m pretty sure our dog and their two goldens are best friends now as well!”

“Jennifer was awesome with our dog Benjamin! She will treat your fur baby as though they were her own. She is great with communication and very accommodating! Will most definitely keep her mind in the future!”

“Lauren took such good care of Barney! She was so one to give me daily reports and pictures and videos. Barney thoroughly enjoyed his time with Lauren and her family! She is an excellent caregiver and we highly recommend her!”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Clover
I cannot even begin to thank Jennifer enough for all she did for my dog Cody. 2 doily updates with pictures and videos, daily walks, and most of all the love and attention she and family showed Cody! My dog was spoiled to no end! Cody doesn’t do well in boarding situations due to anxiety issues. When I took him home today, he was totally calm on the 15 minute ride home. He’s normally nervous in the car whining on the entire trip. If you need a reliable, responsible, caring sitter for your dog, you need to give Jennifer a try. You will not be sorry!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in SC ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
