“Katherine (Brooke) and Mark are fantastic! They are the sweetest couple and love dogs! We left our senior pup with them for a 5 day trip and they took fantastic care of him! They were so nice and let him get used to their home in an initial visit which helped him acclimate easier! They were so helpful with drop off and pick up, sent lots of photos and videos, provided lots of updates and were attentive to him! We are so grateful that we booked with them and are excited that our pup has a wonderful place to stay when we are away! Thanks so much!!!”
“We couldn't have found a better pet sitter than Lisa P. Our dog Petey has a lot of anxiety, but Lisa knew exactly how to deal with him. She sent us pictures every day of him and he looked so happy and relaxed. We are so happy we found her and could relax on our vacation and not worry about him.”

“Ashley and Robert were the absolute best! They sent pictures and updates of Nora throughout the day, which put my mind at ease. Nora had the best time during her stay and came home exhausted. Thank you, Ashley and Robert for taking such great care of my fur baby! ❤️”

“Yevheniia is amazing. My dog is on the needy side & I was really nervous about leaving him. Yevheniia made me feel so at ease & comfortable. She treated Luka like family, letting him on the couch & giving him lots of love. She sent daily updates & pictures which I really appreciated. Thank you so much!”

“Krystle was great with my pup.. she is patient and kind and kept me updated with cute pics of my guy having a blast with her! I am always nervous leaving him with new sitters but I felt confident knowing my dog was safe and cared for during his stay with Krystle. I would absolutely recommend Krystle to other pet parents and hope to book with her again in the future.”

“Jessica was absolutely top tier. This was my first time leaving my dogs with someone, so as you could imagine, there was some learning curves. She was transparent, informative, and very understanding that this was a new experience for them. Forever grateful for her to give me a piece of mind that they were in such amazing care!”

“Sarah was wonderful! We had to add an extra day, and she was so sweet to accommodate our last-minute change in our travel plans. We loved receiving the pictures and videos and we never had to worry about them! We will most definitely be contacting her to keep Sam and Charlie in the near future!”

Gonzalo took great care of my 17-year-old dog Spike, who is deaf and blind. Gonzalo sent videos and photos of Spike showing me he was comfortable and enjoying the company of other dogs. Spike was calm and relaxed when I picked him up. I would definitely board him with Gonzalo again. Angela W.

Dai Yah was amazing with our 2 pups! One week before our vacation, our Lab went into heat. Dai Ya was completely understanding and willing to keep her still. She kept us updated throughout each day of their stay and was always available if we had questions. Our lab is still a pup and didn’t make the best first or 2nd impression (still learning boundaries). Dai Ya was still eager to keep them even with her behavior not being the best. I was very impressed and thankful for her! Will definitely use her in the future if possible!!

Diana and Juan are the best hosts you could ever want for your sweet canine pet in their home. They are friendly, welcoming, and warm. Our Annie is a shy dog and Juan and Diana were so welcoming and patient Annie relaxed and became a part of their family in no time. I would highly recommend Diana and Juan to anyone looking for a pet sitter. They provided lots of pictures, and feedback. Wonderful experience.

I can't say enough about our experience with Samantha. Our dog has bad anxiety any time we leave her and Samantha did a great job of making her feel at home. The care and communication was beyond my expectations. No need to look any further fora sitter! Samantha is the best!!

Such an amazing experience!! Jillian and Michael went above and beyond all weekend. They sent thoughtful updates and TONS of adorable pictures. I could tell my pup felt completely comfortable and loved, which gave me so much peace of mind while I was away. I’ll definitely be booking with them again!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in SC ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
