“Our dog did great at Amanda’s place for a long stay! Her place is great with a large fenced in yard and everything a dog could need. While we were away we got regular photos and updates that she was settled in and doing well, and making friends with her dog Oakley. Will definitely be using Amanda again!”

“Shamika was great with my boy Lux! He made himself right at home. Loved all the updates while I were away on vacation. Definitely will be booking with her in the future! Thank you!”

“Abby really enjoyed her time with Susan and her family and I felt completely comfortable that she was well taken care of. From the pictures and the videos we received it was clear Abby was getting the love and exercise she needs. Susan’s girls were so friendly and showered Abby with love and attention from the initial meet and greet. I would definitely ask Susan to sit for Abby in the future.”

“Florence was absolutely amazing! She watched my dog, Owen, for four days while I was out of the country for a wedding in the Dominican Republic, and I couldn’t have asked for a better experience. This was my first time booking with her, and she went above and beyond to ease my worries by sending me daily photos and text updates, which meant so much to me. Everything went perfectly while I was away. On top of that, my flight home was delayed for several hours and I wasn’t able to pick Owen up until after 10 PM. I felt terrible, but Florence was incredibly kind and reassuring, letting me know everything was completely fine. Owen was clearly well cared for, happy, and comfortable. I am so grateful for Florence’s communication, patience, and genuine care. I will absolutely be rebooking with her in the future and highly recommend her to anyone looking for a trustworthy and compassionate Rover sitter!”

“Alison and Richard did a great job caring for our fur baby! Our flight was delayed and they allowed for a later pick up than expected in the evening, which was much appreciated.”

“Hannah was an amazing sitter. She was caring, attentive to our dogs’ needs, and great with communication. We would definitely have her take care of our fur babies again!”

“Second time booking with Lauren. This time our shy dog went right up to her door like it was her second home. Really appreciate how easy communication is with Lauren throughout the whole process.”

“I’ve had Lora watch my six month old kitten twice now & she is absolutely amazing! She sends pictures and updates on what they are doing throughout the day which is so fun to see - Arthur definitely loves his time with her! I would 100% recommend her to anyone looking for a sitter!”

“Courtney was very professional and caring of my standard poodle. She provided updates and pictures every day allowing me to be relaxed about him being in her care. It was a 2 week gig and all went well.”

“Gonzales was so responsive, I had been looking for a rover for about two weeks during a holiday time and he was very communicative. With my dog being post heartworm treatment and needing to remain calm, he was very attentive and shared daily updates on how she was doing. Would absolutely rebook with him!”

“Mathias was great, communicative and caring. Tumnus returned happy and seemed like he had a wonderful time. Will definitely rebook if we're in the area again!”

“Our dog was treated like one of the family at Nancy’s home! There was great communication with updates and photos during our time away. I highly recommend Nancy and will definitely use her again!”

“Katherine and her family took wonderful care of our sweet senior pup! I received pictures and updates throughout his stay and Katherine was quick to respond to text messages.”

“We would highly recommend Amanda and her family to other dog owners. They went above and beyond to make our puppy feel at home and cared for. Amanda is also very responsive and kept up updated throughout the stay.”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Belmont
This was a first time using Rover and we had the absolute BEST experience with Daisy. She not only kept us updated on how Finn was doing but sent lots of photos of his happy experience! Finn was with Daisy for a whole week and we didn’t have to worry about him for a moment. We previously had used boarding facilities and he came back so anxious. I look forward to contacting Daisy for any Finn stays in the future!

Kiomy is such a kind hearted person. I feel completely at peace leaving my precious Rhee Rhee in her care. I trust her implicitly. What a true blessing she has been in my times of need for a sitter. If anyone needs a great dog sitter, give Kiomy a try. She will not disappoint. Thank you again Kiomy. Blessings!

kayla and owen were the perfect hosts for my little puppy, birdie! it was the first time we left her and it was for 10 days. that’s no small feat and they were generous and gracious. i felt so much peace and comfort leaving my puppy in their care. their dog phoebe is the best and handled my little puppy so well. highly recommend!

Kiri was so excited to visit John again that by the time I had handed over her things, she had already made herself a nest on his couch! She is always very happy when she comes home and John has been incredibly kind and helpful when we’ve had travel plans change. Highly recommend!

This was our second time booking with Yaharia, and once again she was absolutely wonderful! We felt completely at ease the entire weekend knowing our dogs were in such caring, attentive hands. She communicated consistently, sent great updates, and clearly gave our pups so much love and attention. We came home to happy, relaxed dogs, which means everything to us. Yaharia is reliable, kind, and truly cares about the animals she watches. We will definitely continue booking with her and highly recommend her to anyone looking for an amazing dog sitter.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in NC ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
