“Denee was fantastic with our lab. She was attentive, communicative, and genuinely cares about animals. We felt completely comfortable leaving our dog at her home and would not hesitate to book again. Our dog came home happy and well cared for.”

“Yelena is incredible! She took great care of our very stressed dog, who is not used to being away from us. Yelena sent us photos and videos daily to make sure we knew that our dog was ok. Yelena is wonderful and I highly recommend her!”

“We had a sitter lined up that cancelled last minute and Charles stepped up to help. He responded quickly to my request and was easy to communicate with. I could tell within a few minutes of meeting him that my pup was in good hands and was going to be well cared for. Charles took the best care of my dog. Charles is very nice, caring and friendly.”
“This is the first time I leave my dog with Casey. My dog was very happy to the point that he didn’t wanna leave. That means he was well taken care of. Thank you so much Casey. I will definitely use you next time for my dogsiter.”

“Camilla was so great with my pup. I received a lot of update pictures and information about her stay. Camilla was flexible with pick up and drop off times as well. I will definitely be booking with her again!”

“Lawrence and Gabby were the best!! I had just adopted my dog from a rescue a month prior, and had to go out of town for the first time. I was hoping to find someone that was familiar with big breed dogs and open to my high energy pup! It seems like she had an amazing time, skateboarding with Lawrence, playing with her fellow sleep away camp pups and even getting used to being around cats. Lawrence sent photos, put up with my million questions and treated her like she was his own. He and Gabby were even totally cool with giving her medication for an ear infection. Instead of walking away feeling bad about leaving her, it was like a fun little vacation for her. Will definitely be a repeat client :)”

“My boys (2 of them!) can get separation anxiety, so drop offs are typically pretty difficult; but with Deborah, they waltzed right into her home! They came back EXHAUSTED from a weekend of play. I'm thrilled with how happy they are, and will definitely be using Deborah again!”

“Caitlin did such a fantastic job with Max! Max has a very energetic personality, and I was afraid I could not find a sitter for the extended stay. Thankfully, Caitlin was able to attend to his needs and kept us updated throughout my whole trip. I highly recommend her!”

“Katie took very good care of my goldendoodle for a week. She was very caring and sent me pictures during the week. I’d definitely use Katie again and I highly recommend her for your fur baby.”

“I did not honestly think our younger dog could be tired out, but Bethany and her family did it over a 4 day holiday weekend! Very comfortable with her caring for my two knuckleheads. Her history as a pet owner and her theory on animals fits mine (they're family!) so hubby and I had a nice relaxing staycation sans pups. Never worried once.”

“Sarah and Erik were wonderful! Our lab Smoky stayed with them for several days and no doubt had a great time. They have a very safe and welcoming space and a great yard for larger dogs who love to play, and their sweet pup Rosie is just the icing on the cake! Would definitely recommend 😊”

About: I have spent my entire adult life with dogs & love them dearly. My 2 dogs love to play with other dogs as well as each other. I also have an older blind toy poodle who doesn’t play with other animals but is perfectly content staying on my sofa & listening to whatever is going on in the house. Therefore, I’m quite accustomed to care for special needs dogs. All dogs seem to communicate very well with me. I also keep the owners up to date daily with pictures and/or videos as to how much fun their dogs are having. I am a retired stay at home widow who loves spending time with dogs. I can devote most my time having dogs in my home to love and care for. Typically, we use some of the afternoon for calming & resting time if/when needed. This is also the time for specific needs & brushing. The doggies can go outside anytime they want to play or do their business. I have a large fenced in back yard specifically for the care & safety of my dogs and the dogs I am caring for in my home. This is a very safe place for the fur babies to spend supervised time in the shade or sun with a large covered veranda with fresh water available at all times. I live on many acres of farm land with very few neighbors. We have no children living near us at all.
About: Reliable and detailed oriented! I will get to know their personal needs , personality, and what works for them! Your pets second favorite human lol I am a body piercer. I work 10 minutes away from my home. I have a set time to take my puppy out as he is still going through potty training My apartment is pretty open for the fur babies to room around and I have a small fur baby of my own that can play with! There is a big area of grass around my complex where they can go potty and play and a dog park right up the street.
“Cristy took great care of my 9mo old puppy. She was super accommodating and flexible with our last minute requests/changes. She has a fenced in yard that is a puppy's dream and her facebook page updates are excellent. My pup came back happy and I will definitely book with her again!”

“We are so grateful to have found Claudia!!! She is the best!!! ? She is so sweet and caring and did an amazing job taking care of our girls! ? She regularly sends updates, which we appreciate so much! Plus, Claudia responds quickly and is super flexible! We had faith that our dogs were in good hands with her! ??? We are truly thankful for the love and care she gave them! They had a blast and especially loved spending time with Tango!! ? We can’t wait to bring our fur babies back the next time we go out of town! ❤️”

“Kaitlyn is absolutely amazing! She stepped in last minute to watch Charlie for a week and was a total lifesaver. If you’re looking for a sitter who truly cares and provides a five-star experience, look no further. I received frequent updates and so many great photos, which gave me complete peace of mind while I was away. Kaitlyn is incredibly kind and has a wonderful, welcoming home that is perfect for a pup. I felt 100% at ease knowing Charlie was in such good hands. I would 1000% recommend her to anyone and will definitely be booking with her again!”

“Porter had a wonderful stay with Kellie! From the photos she sent throughout his visit, it was clear he was happy, well-cared for, and having a blast. He got plenty of outdoor time, playtime with a ball, and even made some furry friends. Kellie was communicative and consistent with updates, which made leaving him so much easier. We'll definitely be booking with her again!”

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in NC ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
